Not really. Because everyone is evil. There isn't a good person on the planet. That's literally why we are here in the first place and the idea that people are basically good is a cornerstone of leftist ideology that ironically enough leads to the worst evil imaginable because if people are fundamentally good than the evil in the world must be explained away by external factors that must be exterminated, usually an othered group like kulaks, or jews, or in lefty eyes, cis male white right-wing bible thumpers.

Want to know what would make Leftists turn against vaccines and masks? If someone like Obama told them they were bad. That's all it would take because they have surrendered all thinking to "trusted" figures.
If someone like the Obamas said it was bad, they'd either have to say the Obamas were wrong (something they'll never do) or immediately shift their opinion to agree. I guarantee you they'll choose group. Since "trusted figures" like the Obamas are never wrong, they'll follow their opinion like a herd.
All their opinions are based on what someone told them their identity should be.
There is a different between blending in because you don't want these sheep trying to trample you for their master and just having no actual opinion of your own.
Your example is so good because it was literally already proven to be the case. Back when Trump was in office, the lefty leaders said the vaccine was bad, and the lefties followed. As soon as Trump was out of office, the lefty leaders instantly shifted to saying the vaccine was good, and the lefties followed.
The best part is that conservatives didn't do the same, but in reverse. When Trump was pushing the vaccine, they still said it was bullshit.
It's a cult thinking. They're rabidly supporting vaccines and masks because they believe in them, but because their "cult leaders" told them to do it. None of them believe they're in a cult (no one ever does), but letting others dictate what is safe and what isn't relieves them of the stress of trying to make the call on their own.
People don't want to be wrong. That is why they let someone else tell them what is right. Their identity belongs to their "cult leader"/ "expert".
The problem is not masks, vaccines or any of that. That's surface level. They'd turn against it all in a heartbeat if their leaders/ experts said "no".
The problem is people's refusal to think for themselves. It's not about getting them to say that stuff is bad. It's about getting them to think for themselves and stop rabidly defending the cult.

Perhaps it is because they have been so vehement in their support of people such as the clintons, fauci and name your favorite child trafficker... I would agree with Zuby, but I would add an additional item and that's that a certain percentage of human beings have an extremely strong need for external authority.
Perhaps that desire served us at some point from an evolutionary perspective, but it's a terribly damaging thing when psychopaths control the levers of power and 1/3 to 1/2 of the population is desperate for a ruler.
I came to the same conclusion a while ago. Self-governance doesn't appeal to everyone. Much of the population would be lost without rules, statutes and policies guiding them through life. That's fine if they would just leave the rest of us alone.
The problem is that they want to reinforce their own conformity by forcing the rest of us to follow their own passive state of slavery. That's why they can't leave the rest of us alone -- independent thinkers are a constant reminder of their own bovine complacency.
Not cowards so much as stupid. Bonhoeffer wrote many years ago that the stupid are dependent and give in quickly, especially to evil.

You're not wrong, but you could argue that by being cowards who give our children to the state for 10 hrs a day for indoctrination, the route of the stupidity is more cowardice.

I am most definitely a coward. I wish i had more strength to do more, but I don’t have enough faith in myself. I beat myself up for making mistakes, so I wind up isolating. I’m stronger than I used to be though, and I know I’ll get there one day. This shit is rough.

You are right…..this shit is rough…stay strong, you’re doing fabulous! 2+ years in and my attempts to connect with other people is still awkward…..actually I think it’s getting more awkward the more comfortable I get with being based….just had a run in with a local pastor that I saw yesterday. Who would think that saying “no thanks” to communion (because it was early service and I was fasting), would get you in such an awkward situation at church….apparently the pastor wants to give communion to every single person in the church and if he doesn’t, he compares it to blasphemy…

Y'all. This reminds me of something this weekend. I'm scrolling through the TV Guide (I primarily watch trash TV, admittedly) when I see a WWII film & I stop to read the guide. I'm a huge WWII buff but, like us all, jaded by Hollywood. I didn't want to watch propaganda. So I iMdb'd it and saw a few actors I liked, but I really wanted to see who directed it before I hit the record button. What's this? Mel Gibson? I hit record. Y'all know it was Hacksaw Ridge. Best film I've ever seen in my life, should be mandatory education in high school. They called Desmond Doss a coward, and there's no sniveling leftist alive worthy of being gum on the bottom of Private Doss's boot.

(He has more to say, but scripture is very clear, that mankind, post fall, is dead in sin, inherently evil, and even our "good works" are filthy rags). Yes, some people are raised to be moral, yet are not morally good. Some do "good" to earn salvation or earn status, but the heart is still evil. There is a way that seems right to man, but that way leads to death (eternal death and separation from God)

Possibly people need triggered. All people have different triggering. Once one is triggered. It is possible that if they were triggered for evil they will be blind to good.

The thing with me is. I believe technology and AI can be used for good. Lots might discredit that. It seems true though. Just like gravity naturally pulls down. Evil is the natural way for anything man makes. However I still do not fully fall for that.
However things roll. Nothing can stop what is coming. I believe good is the natural default and lots are still blind to that fact. :)

Wrong. Terrible things DO happen because all people are evil. Because cowardice, especially in the face of very obvious and flamboyant evil is itself evil. Just because it's understandable and we've all been there in some way doesn't negate that, it only reinforces the very easily and verifiable fact that all people are fallen and evil in their core. It's only really a matter of degree.
