Yes, entertaining movie, but watch out for its message: Technocratic white males are to be killed, or allowed to quietly fade away, AFTER their technocratic contribution to multi-culti society. Military background early on, Air Force, pilot. Appointed by President Reagan to the UK Ambassador post for just two years. Saw one disparaging remark by a Malcolm Toon against JJL's UK Amb. appointment so looked into Toon. He appears to have far more extensive political affiliations (as ambassador), these to Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Israel and the Soviet Union.

.. the story-line was somewhat similar to "Joker" ; which also received the same kind of treatment from mainstream critics. Seems they're afraid of the type of people who can relate to the main character in either of those films. lol

So I watched this movie again, pedo symbols. Hollywood, makes sense right? Check the part where he goes into Whammyburger and checks his watch. There's one on the watch.
I remember seeing this film in the theatre when it came out. Really enjoyed it, bought the dvd a couple years later.
My son is 22 and over the past few years I've been giving him an education on great 70's/80's/90's films and this one came up in our queue.
It still holds up, btw. It's not an all time great film, but it is very good and I think it touches on something universal in all men. Very interesting comment by the OP that this film has never played in syndication. That's very unusual and I strongly suspect there's a deeper story there.
