I watch Steve Bannon's War Room on a daily basis. There was a man on there today that said he told Bannon a couple of months back that they were going to start messing with our transportation because they do not want people to travel. If you have people to visit or talk with, then you have a support group in which to come up with ways of survival and such. They do NOT want that. He said that the airplanes being grounded today was just a start. Soon it will be all forms of transportation, buses, trains, boats and eventually your vehicle.
Also, them wanting to ban our gas stoves will soon lead to banning gas furnaces and gas water heaters. They want us all to convert over to electric so that when they feel the right time, probably on a subzero day or night, they will cut the power grid so people will freeze and starve. Also told by a man on the War Room.
For a software engineer’s perspective- this isn’t a glitch. If it was just a glitch then it would have failed at some point in time before now Also, systems don’t take that long to reboot- 10-15 minutes max. Even if it’s due to a central server going down, it would have mirrored clustered load balancing backups ready to go for a system of this magnitude in importance.
You'd be surprised at the antique systems much of our infrastructure runs on. I'm not sure about this one, but others run on obscure hardware with software written in Cobol which is pretty much only taught in India now.
True. A large portion of grocery/retail chains run off of old AS/400 or Mainframe systems running COBOL or RPG.
Sounds like a great way to take down a countries antiquated system that refused to update the infrastructure.
While your assessment is likely correct, glitches are glitches because they're unforeseen. The smallest possible factor or combination of factors could hit at just the right way or at just the right time and something that has never happened before could suddenly happen out of the blue.
Also, code can corrupt -- especially code that relies on the transmission of real time data.
It doesn't sound like this has happened in any fashion before, so that definitively would rule out the latter.
It couldn't be a server going down as that would have backups ready for something so important, as you said.
Honestly, whole thing is weird. "Glitch" just sounds like a cover story. It is plausible. But it also sounds like plausible deniability.

Whole family is coming back from Africa. Husband stranded in NYC. Rest of family just boarded flight in Europe headed for NYC. Praying we make our connection there and can get home, and that my husband can get home too! He was about to board his flight and they told him to get a hotel and try to rebook asap bc it’s going to be insane as this continues to unfold.

I'm filing this under: Biden and company just suck at basic governing. An all ground stop had to be issued because of a computer glitch? When has that ever happened before? I know some here are going to theorize some major action, and that may be, but I would say it's just as likely that thr people running things are a bunch of virtue signal diversity hires that don't really know what they are doing and they crashed the NOTAM system out of carelessness or neglect.
