Our local banks and hospital used to fund the fireworks, but this year, due to ESG amd DEI pushing them to fund the other events, there’s nothing left for the 4th of July. All by design. I have overdosed on rainbow colors. I need a red, white and blue fix.

Make your own 4th than. All the Karen's on Nextdoor will appreciate you stepping up.
I regret that I can only give your comment one updoot. It deserves far more.
🙂
User name checks out. 😆
Way too fast for left turns 🙂
Thanks for this. All I ever knew from them was Halloween.
What we are looking at Is good and evil, right and wrong A new world order We're not about to make that same mistake twice
This is the way. In 2020, when they cancelled all fireworks shows, so many people in my town took it upon themselves to have their own fireworks shows for the 4th. My husband took his drone up at night, and as far as the eye could see in every direction, there were fireworks. It was spectacular.
Nextdoor hates me. They delete my posts and comments right away, even when it isn't controversial. Maybe that why I dont receive my USPS mail. I stopped complaining years ago, does no good.
We're nearing the peak of Yuri Bezmenov's explanation regarding the active demoralization campaign long underway.
There is no peak in clown world.
I spent last 4th of July in a free state and it was glorious.
Hundreds of dollars spent at the local, year round fireworks store meant we had ou own fireworks display that could be seen for quite some distance.
We had a blast.
Yeah, everyone please be mindful of your dogs (pets in general), most don't like fireworks (or storms). Make sure your pups are inside and if they need something for calming you can give them Benadryl or if you have something from your vet to help calm them. If you have a jacket for them, that also can help make them feel a little more safe.
My dogs are scared of fireworks & storms. Have to medicate them, put their jackets on and turn up the tv really high and they are still scared. Here we can do fireworks right in our neighborhood, so everyone does them. It gets pretty loud and people throw fireworks until like midnight. It pisses a few people off. I get people want to do fireworks and I'm all for it, heck we used to do them too (love fireworks) but have consideration for how late/long you do them.
My dog is impervious. Husband shoots off his AR and the dog doesn’t even flinch. Last thunderstorm I opened up the door to check it out and he came running out to see what’s up, ready to defend. We live in the country so we don’t piss off the neighbors unless there’s tannerite involved.
Lol, or a blue haired wack job
Yea but if you're that, then NO days are fun. You're just a miserable creature.
True lol
4th of JulyIndependence DayWe must stop using their language. 4th of July is a date. Independence Day commemorates the birth of America.
Yes, a hundred percent yes!
Get some tannerite from tractor supply. Big booms
Gotta loosen up some beaver dams. Kek!
I thought you were going to say it was canceled due to climate change. Our small town has asked people not to set off fireworks because we are in a severe drought. I don't think that will stop them over the next 3 days, just have to be careful and keep the hose ready.🇺🇲
i'm sure their ESG score would be threatened if they participate, regardless if they have the money to fund or not. most of the fireworks in our town are funded by the citizens. our firefighters stand in the middle of the streets with their boot in hand and people put money in as they go by.
Red White and Blue fix! You got it!
The red wine I’m drinking is helping.
Just take over streets and have your own block party firework show. Block off both ends with motorcycles
I have my own show every year. Now the neighbors and people across the street line up in their chairs every year to watch.
THIS is disgusting.
In Pewaukee, WI the Gun Club stepped in with a $10k donation to make this the town's biggest fireworks show yet. They were looking for $30k and ended up with $36k so they can add a 4th barge to shoot from.
They do that in Michigan, too. Safer in case of a misfire and typically can be done remotely from shore!
Sure do, the open water makes for unobstructed viewing angles and people watch from the beach, from boats, and from their homes around the lake. The big fireworks in Milwaukee also get shot from barges.
Omg no words ! This news cut through anger and gave me somewhat of a defeated feeling !
I bet they’ve made it illegal for you to do your own fireworks too.
All over the West Coast, States and Counties have made fireworks illegal, allegedly because they cause fires and injuries, it’s for your own good, really, trust us. In exchange, they host massive and free fireworks shows put on by the counties and cities… until they cancel those too, then the glorious holiday celebrating the treasonous overthrow of a sitting government can fade out of memory.
Hopefully just a sign of general financial strain from the market leeches: banks, insurance companies, fake non profits, etc.
What a pisser. Did people raise hell about this?
Unfortunately any complaints fell on deaf ears. My town has slowly turned completely blue over the last 20 years. It used to be a great, conservative town growing up. Our town council is all democrats although they have, of course, cross-filed so they can claim they represent all of us. We’re the county seat in a half-red, half-blue county in PA. We will be a major player in how PA plays out in 2024. 2020 and 2022 had us at pale pink.
Isn't your problem with the sponsors though? Or were those the deaf ears because not enough people complained to impact their business?
The hilarity of 4th of July is that we celebrate our "freedom" by lighting fireworks, something that the government has banned and conceded we can use to celebrate our freedom only on specific days.
They want June 19th to replace July 4th
You need to push a collection locally to do a fireworks display for your Town and people.
Even if it's small, it could grow into something bigger, and you don't need the local government to support it.
You can do your own fireworks at home...a must see...

Los Angeles city is a war zone every 4th of July. You've never seen anything like. Words can't describe it and the city doesn't pay for any of it.
They sure deprioritized our flag and our Independence Day celebrations. Sick.
On another note, I went to Worlds of Fun this week and there was a fireworks display at 10 PM along with a drone fireworks display. Those are amazing. They would be costly, but at least the money would be put into play every year again.
Go pitch to them for next year and remind them, gently, about just how powerful we are now.
Make your own 'boom'. How, where, and what you make go boom should be discussed with your compatriots.
Oh, and buy some fireworks for the kids.
Like has been said many times before, Pride gets a month, most of our (American, not because of sexuality or sexual preference) holidays are one day events, Christmas into New Year's may last two weeks, but Veteran's Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Memorial Day, they all just get one day. Maybe Juneteenth can get a month or so, down the road.
How sad for your town. We do the 4th big time around here. Town budget has a fund set aside for fireworks for the 4th and Christmas. Business and locals also pitch extra in every year to make it a successful show. Private clubs like the elks and the VFW also have fireworks shows every year as well, add in the amazing country boys out here who put on their own big boom shows and there is fireworks to be seen for miles if you have a Mountain View!
People donate money for our local fireworks and the local fire department handles it.
It's spectacular. People also go to the local reservation and buy the good stuff.....
Do you live in CA?
Sorry! But had to comment with one word…. RIDICULOUS!!
What town is that? I find that narrative difficult to believe, even in this day and age.
