Vaccines don't only attack viruses. Diptheria, tetanus, and pertussis are all bacterial infections, for example. Vaccines prompt your immune system to create antibodies that target specific cells.
We already have monoclonal antibody treatments like trastuzumab for certain types of cancer. If we had a way to prompt the immune system to create antibodies that narrowly target cancerous cells, that would probably be pretty useful.

Sadly my best friend cousin, who lived the healthiest life style imagined, died of bone cancer far before his deserved time. I don't have my head in the sand. Stuff can kill us! No one is immortal, and sometimes those with the best life styles don't get their deserved life span, much less the rest of us!

Read the article, they're taking tumor samples from the patient and creating a custom mRNA injection to help their bodies identify that specific cancer so it can attack it. Moderna is taking a more broad approach and finding traits common across multiple tumors to try and do the same thing more broadly and thus more quickly.

Stress can weaken an immune system but if you have a strong immune system to begin with you are not going to see a difference in your overall health.
