You can do this through programs with no teaching experience. They will send you the materials. Listen to this man.

If both parents have to work, when will they have time to spend a full school day teaching?

Only takes an hour or two hands-on, really. It can be done after hours, in between other tasks. You wouldn't believe how much time is wasted in school.

Honestly yes, they are horrifically easy compared to my youth. It's the methods they teach today that breeds idiocy en masse to make people easier to control.

Honestly, probably cheaper than private school.

Yeah not even close. Even at HS levels, theres a bout 10 minutes of actual learning per class.

Schools arent there to educate, but to get kids ready for a 40 hour work week while allowing their parents to work. Publicly funded day care.

A”full school day” is a joke. Homeschooled my two kids. Spent no more than a tenth of “teaching time” that the public schools do, yet my kids run circles around the typical public school student. You have no idea of how much of a school day is worthless bullshit.

In 3rd grade, how hard is it? Not that hard and wouldn't take that long but would be well worth it.

Needing a full day is because in the school system teachers have classes of 30+ to teach. With homeschooling it's just you and the kid, you can focus and get more done in less time.

This. With all respect as I have two kids myself. How important is your kid to you? Do you want to lose them to conformity and ignorance and servitude?

Both my kids are base. They go to private school. We talk. They know the importance of what is going on.

After 40+ years, the only debt I have is our mortgage, but because we've made a commitment to our kids, to raise them in private or homeschool, It's hard. Sometimes it sucks. We've gone without many times. Would I go back and change anything, make life easier?

No way.

Ignoring reality was never an option. My kids have thanked me.

In truth we've accrued some stares, wife and I agreed early to treat our kids with same respect as adults.

Imagine when you have company and a 4 year old comes up and says excuse me, and you stop your grown up conversation to have a quick talk with the kid.

Pissed off some people, got questions from others. The kids are now teens and imo are well adjusted, we're told by their teachers they are some of the best students they have, and most respectful.

We must have done something right I guess.

I think some areas have shared home school where a group of parents each take a day with a few kids so all the kids get more of a school setting and get the social setting as well , plus you can still have a job and teach you kids. So if you could find some other like minded parents It might be something that could work for you . I know most people can't just not goto work but could manage one less day of work.

Call the school and ask why the teacher is invading your sons privacy. As far as the fam goes. Everyone in the household needs to be respected, that includes you. The teacher should never be putting a child in that position. As far as parenting. I have always taught my kids not to pursue the "so I can fit in" routine. Get them to think for themselves. Like you have done.

I would definitely be calling that teacher to chew her ass out. How dare she pressure your kids actions outside of school.

Not to teach a man how to be a father... but YOU are in charge, not your son. Him crying and feeling bad about being an outsider is a strengthening moment for him unless.. you give in and let things be.

Keep fighting and don’t give up. He’s your son, not the teachers, so don’t lose the fight over his mind.

Yeah, this story is fishy. I couldn’t imagine a teacher doing something like this and if one did, there would be a reckoning.

If it’s true then the fault lies with the dad in question. If you are not respected and the head of your household then you are not a man. This guy needs to fix himself before he could even hope to fix his family.

You have not been paying attention if you can't imagine this happening. There is absolutely zero fishy about this story.

Though I don't disagree with your second statement, there's got to be a middle ground.

We don't even know how to do this. The women hold all the power. "I'll divorce you and take the kids away."

I could imagine this happening, but his reaction makes it seem fishy. If a teacher bullied my kid in front of the class, I would very calmly and legally make that teacher never want to do that again.

He doesn’t strike me as being assertive. And that’s the root of the problems he is talking about.

I was physically assaulted nearly daily until I turned thirteen and got heavy into the martial arts so I feel you I was also a Bible Boy. Though I never went to the teachers. Felt I had to take care of it myself.

So that’s not the situation we are discussing here. The OP is claiming a teacher basically bullied his kid in front of the class. That would not fly with me and that teacher and I would be having a recorded conversation in front of their administrator.

I just left California. A teacher can in no way belittle a child. In this case you can use that to your advantage. But it seems in this case the OP could not be bothered because, and I quote, her third grader asked her not to and she’s scared the teacher will take it out on her son.

Get the textbooks from the school and teach him yourself.

Tell him he can play with his friend more often now, since the teacher invaded his privacy by asking him if he had a mask on or not - she did it on purpose to shame him. Treat him and his friend to a pizza afternoon or movie day - he will get over it. but stress that the TEACHER has no right to ask him anything about his activities at home.

3rd grade - he is old enough to be told that bad people will question him about your family activities, and if they decide to be mean, they could take him away from you and your wife. This is not a joke. I've never seen it this bad....some of the dumbest kids in college (NOT ALL) were the education majors - now they have a little power and they are using it.

I pulled my kid out of school for less than that. Pulled my kids from a Pediatrician for questions about guns to my kid behind my back. With the communists in power, be very afraid.

This can't be said enough. you can be their friend when they are in their late teens-early twenties, but in the formative years, you are responsible for ensuring they understand the world, have morals, WISDOM and GRATITUDE especially. Many people miss this, but your child is not your peer, and they are not yours either. There is a question Dennis Prager throws out to parents, and many, many fail: He asks "which would bother you more as a parent, that your child smoked or cheated on tests?". So many parents chose smoking b/c "it's bad", you can always quit smoking but repairing morals is significantly a more difficult task once you have a firm footing on the road of compromise.

HOMESCHOOL!

I talk to so many people that are in their 40's and 50's and their children are all grown and are brainwashed. They put them in the public school system to be indoctrinated.

Not only that, but the Common Core curriculum public schools use is SHAMEFUL. My sister's kids are in 8th and 6th grade. They don't know their multiplication tables, and they can barely read and write. Look into the spiral method of learning vs. the building method. It's horrendous. They are purposely making our children stupid so they will be easier to brainwash.

YOU are responsible for the education of your children. Not the state. Not the government. It is time for parents to step up and do what's best for their children. Get socialization through church, playdates, etc. My husband was homeschooled all the way up. He has an MBA and is doing excellent in life. School took 2 hours a day when he was little and 4 hours a day when he was older. My sister spends longer helping her kids with their homework than my husband's mom spent homeschooling all of her kids.

He had tons of time to be a kid and play and be a kid. School wastes SO much time and then sends kids home with hours of homework. It's lunacy. Please please consider it. I wish I was homeschooled growing up, and I grew up in a red state.

Stay away from the Spiral Method. That is common core crap. Focus on curriculum that uses phonics for learning how to read with SOME site words (the, she, is, at, etc.)

My best friend just started homeschooling her kids. She yanked them out of school (Kindergarten and Preschool) when the teacher read a book with lots of communist messaging in it to the class and was using that as a theme throughout the classroom. It was My Class is a Family. You can find it on Youtube. It's SUPER popular with teachers. They are teaching kids a lie and trying to undermine the importance of family and put a state institution as high of a level as the family in kids' brains so that they trust the authority of their teachers equal to that of their parents. Dangerous.

So she did a ton of research and she is using: Reading: All About Reading Spelling: All About Spelling Math: Math U-See
History: Notgrass History
Science: Apologia

But do your own research and look into the different teaching methods, and make sure you agree with it for your kids. That's what's great about homeschooling. In Public school you are stuck with whatever curriculum THEY choose for your kids. She hasn't started on science/history yet since her kids are so little. But I know the science curriculum she chose is Creationist-based.

For 3rd grade you don’t need much for curriculum. The trick will be meeting CA’s requirements - when I homeschooled they were very hard to meet. Dunno what they are now. I pulled my daughter out in 7th grade and homeschooled her through junior year while I worked full time. There are sooo many resources out there now for homeschooling. There is a Homeschool Legal Defense group that has an awesome lawyer who fights to keep homeschooling open for each state. Just start researching. Start with CA’s requirements, what a student should know by the end of 3rd grade and just go. My kids wish I had homeschooled them in elementary school - they didn’t learn what they should (the youngest doesn’t have her multiplication tables memorized still as an engineer and she never learned cursive) - and they were in a good FL school district! Let me know if you have more questions. I’ve been done since 2012 but I learned a lot!

They are now due to Common Core. We got out just before it got really bad. And my girls became engineers so they weren’t subjected to all the elective classes (they used their AP credits for their Gen Ed) in the Florida state college system. I’m seriously thinking about diving into education during the Great Awakening. As a senior engineer it would be a huge pay cut but I’d love to do something meaningful for these kids that have been so screwed all these years...

You're always welcomed to vent! I've continued to think about very simple, plain tests that people can try to rationalize.

I don't know if there's a name for this one, so I'll just go with the "kitchen/cooking example". Just ask them to wear a mask as dinner is being made. I'd stand there enjoying the delicious smells of dinner. IF the mask worked, then they can't smell it. See if they start to think for themselves.

Also, my favorite reply now to maskers: "have you ever smelled a fart before? Jeans and underwear can't stop that from getting to your nose..."

Hmm, not trying to be an ass just trying to investigate. What you're saying seems to imply masks don't do anything. So do surgeons even need to wear masks? Just curious

Blood drops on the lips can be quite dangerous. If it can happen to a tattoo artist, it can definitely happen to surgeons.

I appreciate your question. For surgeons, who is in proximity of someone who might be sick to operate on them, then the protection of their surgical or N95 masks make sense. If we take that same logic and ASSUME that EVERYONE is sick with anything, then people can wear masks until the day they die in fear of catching something.

The loose definition that we have for what passes as a mask is the bigger issue. I'm seeing signs all over the place with, "Wear a mask. Save lives!" If people truly believe that this is an end-all respiratory disease as DRAMATIC as the MSM are making it out to be, then NO ONE would be outside. Given that politicians, athletes, essential workers, and so many more people are still out and about, the disease has never lived up to the scare that they are trying to convince us of.

The mask is a false sense of security for a disease that has a 99.5+% survival rate for the majority of the population. The usual masks that the typical normie is wearing might be a cloth mask. Multiple masks if it makes them feel better.

The viral particles are many times smaller than the holes on your average, "holier-than-thou" masks. The usual scientific explanation that I receive from people about those would be, "well, the viral load travels on water/air particles from your mouth, so the masks stops it from traveling FROM YOU to another person."

It can sound reasonable. So, if these masks DO work to stop/reduce this "oh-so-deadly respiratory virus", then wouldn't you just want to stop ANY particles from moving from one person to another? I bring up the smell example of invisible particles that travel THROUGH cloth to encourage people to question or think. Those particles most definitely got through a cloth mask.

That being said, I feel for you with the story that you shared. Within weeks of sharing with close friends that I voted for the first time ever and questioned what was going on around me, my IQ plummeted TO THEM since I decided to think and question for myself anything that's going on in the political arena. When you bring up any type of indoctrination, it's quite scary since the people who are conducting the indoctrination might not even be thinking on their own anymore.

He’s in grade 3 he shouldn’t be a Biden supporter or a Trump supporter. If he wants to wear a mask to fit in who cares? It sounds like you’re putting too much pressure on him. He’s just a kid. You don’t need to be talking his ear off about politics all of the time.

There will be a time when he is ready to think about politics. Grade 3 ain’t it

I know it’s everywhere but your pressure and expectations will do the opposite of what you’re intending. You’re putting him in a super stressful spot by him feeling like he is choosing between his cultural norm (in class) and not disappointing his father (who he probably looks up to).

Obviously we, as adults, know that this isn’t a big deal in the grand scheme of things because he has so much life ahead of him. But I can guarantee you that this is the most stressful thing in your sons life. Regular pressures from a sons father are stressful enough for a kid.

He will know he doesn’t need to be afraid when he sees his father (who he looks up to) not wearing a mask and also not being afraid. Its as simple as that. When you walk around unafraid, and he sees you don’t get sick, he will have a better understanding. Talking about it constantly does the opposite.

When he gets older he won’t even remember the presidency of Trump. It will be something he has to go back and research. So it’s even pointless to discuss IMO. Trump or Biden being president is so irrelevant to a kid (in their mind, not in their policies) that you’re probably speaking a different language to him. All he knows is that dads putting expectations on him that he knows he can’t meet.

There is always a counter culture and it’s usually in spite of being it forced. If you pressure your son he can counter your culture.

Thanks for writing that. No one is even thinking about the kid’s perspective. It’s all “move out” “man up” “live free or die” (what does that even mean for a 9 year old?) I even saw one guy comment and tell OP that he’s not leading his family and he’s a shit father. Like gee, thanks for the advice you cunt.

OP didn’t reply to my comment but I hope he reads it and it resonates with him

To the ones that are saying “homeschool” that’s not always possible or even probable. Your kid is in a tough spot and you are as well. With that being said I believe it is important for you to talk to your kid and let them know that they have done nothing wrong. You also should schedule a call with the teacher and the principle. The line is crossed and it becomes a slippery slope. Let this go with the teacher and the next thing you know they will be having your child question their gender.
I hope this helps. As a mom I get it - protect your child.

It is possible for most people, it just takes sacrifices. Downsizing, moving to a lower cost of living area, etc. Having one parent work from home, etc.

I agree it may be very difficult in California, but her son is already at home learning which means she must already be home with him. My husband was homeschooled all the way up. It only took 2 hours a day when he was little and 4 hours a day when he was in high school. And by high school, his mom didn't do a whole lot. He was given the books and materials and told to complete the assignments. He would go to her if he had any questions, but for the most part he said he was good learning on his own. They now have online classes, but you as a parent can pick the curriculum and what is being taught to your kids.

My sister spends more time doing homework with her kids than my husband's mom spent doing all of their schoolwork. And my husband now has an MBA and is so smart. His mom gave him a LOVE of learning and taught him HOW to learn and not just memorize information, so he is always learning new things. School is the biggest time waster there is. They spend half the day correcting kids behavior and teaching just utterly useless stuff. My niece and nephews can barely read and write and don't know their multiplication tables (6th and 8th grade). Common core is horrific.

Yeah I feel you. This is a very hard time for kids.

It’s not a great idea to totally redpill kids before they’re mature enough to handle what comes with that.

My advice to him would be to keep quiet and not volunteer extra info.

Fortunately we have sane teachers where I live.

It's wild how perceptive kids can be. He's clearly receiving conflicting info from different sources that he doesn't know how to reconcile. I'm not a parent so I don't really have advice on how to talk to him. But he seems sharp, he just doesn't want to deal with the madness of the real world. I know I sure don't.

Just let him know you care and often heroes stand alone. Many teachers unfortunately go into the field because they define themselves by the people that surround them. Peer pressure is hard to face and fighting against the tribal mindset can be lonely at times. However it's those that can stand up to others that can trust above the constant noise. I'm not sure if the best solution, but in a world where hero's are seldomly found all anyone can do is try their best to be that hero in the life of others.

So.... your son is afraid that his teacher won't think hes a Biden supporter? Where did he get that idea from? I would have a long talk with his teacher and ask them why they think its appropriate to discuss their politics in your sons class. Then I would shame the teacher the same way your son feels/felt shamed. Personally, I don't even think that's an appropriate question for the teacher to even ask in regards to your son if he wore a mask. I get your just venting, but I'm a different breed. I don't give a shit, even if it made my kids embarrassed, but I would start making waves. Your son will thank you for it later when hes older. Consider it a lesson in tough love. As a parent I empathize with you when you see your children cry when they want to fit in and shit, but I would ask him if he would rather be a leader or a follower, and if he wants to be a leader, I would continue doing what you're doing and lead by example and be that guy standing alone on the island. Eventually he will put 2 and 2 together. If he prefers to be a follower, then let him go be one and support his decision and treat him like a follower. I'll leave that up to your own interpretation. Don't let your son end up like that one piece of shit kid that turned his dad into the FBI for going to the capital.

My best friend tried that with her son's teacher when she had some problems with what was being taught. All she got was a lot of condescension and excuses. Nothing changed, so she yanked her kids out and is now homeschooling them. She just started thinking if it was already that bad in kindergarten/preschool, how much worse would the ideology indoctrination get as they got older.

Her son was starting to argue with her about stuff his teacher was saying, and she saw a rebellious attitude in him and some bad behavior that he was obviously learning from other kids in class. Within a few weeks of being home, he went back to being her sweet boy and all the acting out went away. She said it was really crazy to see the difference. And her boys are excelling at home school. They love the curriculum she chose and are flying through it.

Yeah, she was so mad at the school. She sent me the emails the teacher sent her. They made my blood boil. They were so patronizing. Basically, I'm sorry you have a problem with it... no one else does.

She also had had a talk with the principal about how she didn't want her 5 year old being taught about transgenderism. She didn't think that was an age appropriate conversation, and she didn't want him being confused with talk that he could be a girl if he wanted to be. The principal also blew her off with some talk about how they try to be inclusive blah blah blah.

It was terrible. Once she saw that her concerns were not going to be taken seriously and the school was just going to keep doing whatever they wanted, she was done.

Lol. My kid has to go to school for only 2 hours a day....in a mask. Its creepy. But otherwise she'd be home w me and a 2 year old all day everyday & no friends. I feel your pain Bro. Tensions are high everywhere and families are being divided quickly. Luckily my wife is on board with me but she's over it now, ready to submit. I refuse to mask up but because of that we barely go out anymore and even simple shopping can be difficult at times. The rest of the family thinks we're looney and trying to explain to people that they have believed a lie is about useless. Thoughts and prayers your way.
