BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!
You asked, threatened, even offered bribes (no joke, someone PM'd me, offering me $1,000) to fix the way our WIN's search works, and, for so long, our answer has sucked. We can't. As a .WIN, we benefit from the (may peace be upon their devs) main codebase given to all the WINs by the devs. So sometimes, when search doesn't work, we can't really do anything about it.
UNTIL NOW.
Thanks to our in-house coding genius, u/Bubble_Bursts, we have found a way to AWESOMEIZE our .WIN's search via a convenient .JS addon script you can download into your browser that adds some rogue, unauthorized features!
The script lets you scroll forever 'till the end (no pages, which makes searching for something way easier), and, well, that's it. But that's pretty fricking awesome and saves a ton of time!
Here's how to get it:
STEP ONE
Get TamperMonkey for your browser here.
Tampermonkey is the most popular userscript manager, with over 10 million users. It's available for Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari, Opera Next, and Firefox.
STEP TWO:
Download the script. TamperMonkey will automatically install it. Get it here:
https://files.catbox.moe/29hfz4.js
NOTE: If it doesn't automatically install, you will have to make the script inside the TamperMonkey's dashboard. If this proves necessary for lots of users, would one of you mind whipping up some quick instructions? I'll paste them here.
That's it! Oh. One more script is coming as soon as u/Bubble_Bursts is finished with it that will also awesomize a different feature.
Any suggestions? Please send us a DETAILED modmail.
Enjoy!
PS - to the user that offered me $1000, please use this Bitcoin address:

Thanks to all the people giving valuable feedback.
Special shoutout to u/CoolAsACucumber/ for giving detailed instructions!

There’s no way for .win site managers to add a script tag?!
As one coder to another!
Good job!
Your reply is an obvious case of bitching for the sake of bitching. No rules were broken.
Sit down, asshat.
Obvious, eh?
Not a merchandise, nor is it a fundraising
Not a personal website, blog, channel, nor is it a spam
No profits, just another patriot spending his free time trying to make this site better and sharing it for free

Clearly, for some people here, Peace is not the prize.
Some people are just complete fucktards and can't appreciate a kind gesture, a helping hand, and have nothing better to do but bitch cuz they aren't talented like that. Ignore em!!! I only have a phone, so I can't use this, but awesome job u/Bubble_Bursts!!! Thank you and if I get a computer, I'll be hunting this up.
hi And thank you resident genius... just a side wuestion that I asked catsfive...: Is there a summary of formatting code comands for user posts such as ">" for bullet points and "u/" for user call outs and gif loads? thanks for going above and beyond.!
It’s a version of Markdown, so you can look that up and see what parts of Markdown work here. Obviously the part of your question that concerns
u/
formatting still stands. Thanks, it looks good and looks very useful. I will try and incorporate this into the script.
Thank you soooooooo much! There is so many good memes that I saw once but could never find again. This is super duper helpful!
You could turn this into a bookmarklet by minifying the code, and putting
javascript:
before the code then create a shortcut and paste the code into the URL portion. The code will run when you click the shortcut buttonThat would be neat. I will ask a GPT about that. But, why would you want it as a bookmarklet? I'm not sure I fully understand how those work. How long can a bookmark be?
Essentially, it's like a javascript button that exists as a bookmark. I use them quite a lot for other sites. I have folders of them. The benefit is that you have an easy way to turn a script on, and it's still manual. I enjoy knowing which scripts I am running. A bookmarklet can be pretty long, I'm not sure there is a limit outside that script size limit. Actually, I can make the script referenced as a bookmarklet on here. I will do it by loading the script as a file instead, so create a new bookmark. Name it anything. In the URL field, paste the following code:
Some browsers will remove the
javascript:
part of the paste, so go to the url beginning and make sure it's there. Save it, and then when on the right page, just click the bookmark.Or as a sinple test you could paste this as the url.
javascript: alert('hello world');

You must have some military-grade system security that keeps this board humming 24/7. This has been the biggest hopium for me. The fact is that this board is still up and running. It must get attacked constantly by the devils trying to shut it down.
Same here
I do wonder who runs this and the rest of the win sites as it's probably at a huge cost.
I think you should imagine the opposite
I decided the q drop.
One thing I wanted was exact timestamps like on 4chan. The information is available if you hold the mouse over the time. But that makes it impossible to screenshot. Unless you use this bookmarklet script: https://greatawakening.win/p/15HbpUDrlc/this-bookmarklet-shows-exact-tim/ The script also makes the exact date and time of each comment copy and paste into libreoffice along with the rest of the page.
heheh :)
Incompatible with iPad. Will try it on iMac.
Way to go bubbles! You rock dude!
Please explain what a 'script' is ... just enhances scrolling? Is this mostly beneficial for deep dive researchers? I'm not techie - just keeping up with the basics. After 3 years, I mostly stick to my reliable sites like X22Reports, GAW, Telegram and any others suggested on these sites. Not the 100+ I used to try to keep up with!! Thanks :)
Here is the code with //comments for what each section does:
"A script is a small piece of program that can add interactivity to your website. For example, a script could generate a pop-up alert box message, or provide a dropdown menu."
Just piggybacking you. If you think of a website as a house, Html is infustructure, the bare bone walls. CSS is the interior design, the way things looks, colors on the wall, material of the floor etc. Javascript is the electricity that allows the lights to turn on and off, the ac to run, etc.

That took way too long. Damn it.
Thanks! I was seeing Qdrop 4163 and 34 … and it went downhill from there.
You got OPs bitcoin number instead. You just accidentally (hmmm) put all your bitcoin into their account.
Can it search a specific time period?
Take that angry supermod ewhatshisface modmailling u/catsfive with nasty threats.... Move over former supermod we have u/bubble_bursts now!
Any chance of getting it to work on silk? It is soo much faster than android phones with embrdded google spyware and the devices are soo much cheaper..
Oddly enough, that mod's account no longer exists across any of the .WINs in the entire WIN universe. Oddly enough.
Very odd indeed 😱
Photogenetic grins (almost as good as doggy grins)
Does silk have tampermonkey extension? Or any other means for injecting javascript? If so, we might be able to make it work.
I have no Idea...this is the first time that I have heard of tapermonkey..... Silk is the amazon fire browser on their version of android.... I periodically search for other anon recommended browsers but have yet to find any available...... A quick search of "tampermonkey for silk" reveals no leads..
Ah, chances of this working on a device is pretty slim.
I believe I'm right, but though Silk is a Chromium fork (IIRC) Amazon doesn't like letting users have that kind of freedom with it.
I have an Amazon tablet somewhere, but it's dead as hell so I can't check. Search is...very unhelpful.
Also, my S21+ is definitely faster than any Amazon tablet so I don't know what he's on about. DeGoogling your phone is also a breeze.
qualifier: Based upon the phones I have experience with...admittedly cheap ones.... But given my twelve+ year old fire performs better than a four year old cheap phone on a relative par price point <$75..I am guessing it is largely due to less embedded baggage. Post search Edit: yikes!! You spent $799 on a phone??!!
Installments and trade ins, and it's important that I have up to date models for work and hobby.
It's simply impossible that four year old technology can, quote, "run faster at a par price point". Each new generation of technology runs significantly faster than the last. This is like saying an RTX 3080 could feasibly run anywhere close to the RTX 4080...which is not even in the realm of possibility.
Right down to the maturation of RAM becoming cheaper, new will always be faster than old.
As far as baggage goes...that's amusing considering Amazon has just as much telemetry as Google does.
you make my point in that it is impossible that the old hardware is faster.... it then must be the load i.e., all the scroogle crap programs doing God knows what that is/are the problem.....yet the 12year old fire, with (guessing) 5-6x as many tabs open is far faster from a uservstand stand point than the four year old google android system which has never had any other applications installed an presently doesn't even have a sim card.... there was a small improvement when I added a loader and switched to brave but it still struggles with more than five tabs...
Sticky for awareness. We're getting a lot of dupe posts in /NEW that an improved search might help.
Will the search ever be able to look through individuals' comments and not just post titles? There have been times in the past when I was trying to find a specific comment that I remember verbatim from a specific user, but searching for the phrase turned up nothing because it was within a comment, not a post title.
you can do it using an enhanced google search, limited to the domain. I have a link to do that for GAW bookmarked, but on a different device. If you want it, reply and I'll find it for you.
It depends on what the devs in the .WINs above us add to that feature. We don't have any control over our codebase.
Even on Reddit this tends to be relegated to third parties scraping the specified users' data and generating results from that. I would expect it's because the use case is fairly niche.
Bummer. Would certainly be a nice improvement, especially in cases of users who have thousands of comments. I used to have some post links saved in messages from discussions about certain comments, but of course ever since the messaging system got "updated" (maybe last summer?) messages past ex amount of time disappear. Really a shame. Had tons of great private conversations with people that all went proof. Luckily my memory is pretty good 😂
Who are the devs?
But was it on time and under budget? Keks and thanks!
Such brilliance, far beyond my dense comprehension of such things. My humble thanks
u/datadude
Nice.
But to those who are looking to enhance their search queries, it seems that a search with the regular search engine is preferable, still.
Howto:
https://www.freedomscientific.com/SurfsUp/Search_Engines.htm
Read it, test it, use it to your heart's delight. You'll be amazed what you can find beyond what big tech allows you to see with the standard mode of operation.
Thanks u/Bubble_Bursts I will try this out!
Bout freaking time
Last post: SEVEN MONTHS AGO ☝️
Who gives af. You sound like a douche. I come here 5x a day read news and memes. Sorry thats good enough
I know who he is lol. But Ive never had a convo on here w him. The search feature has always been worthless on this site, sorry if that offended him enough to look into my post history
Sorry not sorry, hell I don’t know. I don’t use a computer much. Mostly phone. Soooooo………..what is a user script and why do I need to manage it?
user scripts are little programs made by users to "enhance" the functionality of websites.
You don't need it. But if you did, "tampermonkey" is like an extension you add on your browser to easily install/uninstall and use the user scripts.
OR you can just click "next" on the results or use google search lol
I like using Google searches sometimes just to mess with their algorithms
and you can search the data within the articles and even comments, which is not possible with the current search algo in GA.
I could crawl and index the website myself, but I don't need to.
Always remember, install responsibly. JavaScript is one of the more vulnerable, which is fine as long as you don't go around downloading and enabling random, unvetted scripts.
Obviously this post is an additional caution sign, not aimed at above poster!
xhr.open("POST", "http://www.IRS.gob/ThisGuyPaysDouble.html", true);
Thanks (red in the face)
Searching specific users?? Won't this make doxxing a hell of alot easier?? I usually am but I think people should be pretty careful about posting any info that could indicate their location or associates
I just searched your name and your bathroom habits showed up. Stop clogging the damn toilet!
On a serious note though, you can already search specific users through any engine that indexes this site with enough patience and knowledge. This just helps make it more user friendly for average users.
But not quad-boosted journos, because they're not diligent and have the attention span of toddlers.

Thank you u/Bubble_Bursts. May your alert bell be at rest sometime next week.
Okay u/Bubble_Bursts, let's do this, why not setup a Git repo or if you want we can just use pastebin or something but we can have a set of code live somewhere, and then a bookmarklet to append that js code to the site. The benefit is that people can just click the bookmarklet or chrome extention, it also means this doesn't have to only be about searching, we can add other features as well, since the bookmarklet / extention would be to the source location, we can change the source and everyone is auto-updated. We can even do DOM replacement allowing for a larger amount of changes. Let me know if you want me to create a script to showcase what I mean.
Planning a git repo, and yes I plan to add more features starting with infiniscroll for users posts and comments, but beyond that whatever people here suggest. I was thinking of adding another feature to the current script where you can filter the search with another term/phrase/username to hone into the results.
And yeah happy to let anyone fork and contribute.
BTW, you were the one who gave the horizontal scroll CSS the other day right? I was gonna push it in, but then realised it was truncating text posts. Didnt get around to fixing it.
I saw that. Is it fixable at all? Pls at having a look at it at the bottom of your list?
Thank God! I've been saving hundreds of posts because they are impossible to find otherwise
