I don't understand though. In my area (rural pa) there are "we're hiring" signs everywhere. Restaurants, big box stores, mom & pop businesses, grocery stores etc. I know of a few business owners who said the resumes stopped coming in. And these are $30 an hour jobs with benefits. My son's both struggle to find entry level people to work remotely in their IT companies (no experience needed) and will pay for you to get continued ed. I hear stories about people just not showing up for work, or quitting with nothing else lined up. I scratch my head over this. Maybe I'm missing something? I am single and support myself through several side hustles. I don't live beyond my means and I don't rely on being anyone's employee.
Please tell me where I can get a full time $30\hour job in retail. Where I’m at only thing being offered is part time and nothing above 25 for contractor job. Retail is 17/h and that’s only bc I’m in ca. Juggling 3-4 part time jobs puts a lot of stress on my fam and no benefits.
What I do believe happened during Covid is people were making more money staying home. Now, because of that conditioning, some of those people don’t want to work and those who do only have access to part time jobs as employers have largely decided everyone is part timers now. At least that seems to be the case here where I live.
The business owners I referred to are not retail for $30 an hour Full Time. They are looking for Drivers and Technicians. There are retail establishments in my area paying close to $20/hr. My point is that there are jobs out there. The reddit post talks about husband getting one more month of income before it all stops and they have to live in a car. I don't know, I just feel like that person might be being too picky. He should be looking NOW.
But didn't that COVID money run out a long time ago or are some states still sending checks to some people? I haven't heard of anyone I've known getting that money since late 2021. My wife didn't get anything other than regular unemployment when she lost her job back in 2022 (before we got married.)

I have been wondering if they murdered more people with jabs and malpractice than we thought as my employer has been having trouble filling six-figure positions for a couple years now. I know my state has been hemorrhaging population (and I'm trying to figure out how to get out as well) but even offices in red states are having trouble, it's a corporate-wide issue.
You need years and years of college for those jobs. Many people don't want liberal cat women and homosexual male teachers shouting at them while they're trying to earn a degree - only to do work that requires absolutely no education whatsoever.
There are two major things at play that answer your question.
Add in the fact that most jobs haven't done anything wage wise to counter this, and therein lies the problem.
Prepping for financial hardship is not something most Americans are good at. Folks finance eeeverything which means they have no assets or capital to lean on during rough times. No savings and totally over leveraged.
The smartest thing I was taught in my 20s was saving and investing most of what I earned. That plus a very good high-paying line of work and I can weather anything and not feel the slightest bit worried or affected by it. Consumerism is what gets a lot of people in that paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyle

That’s where I’m at. Make decent money and still living pay check to pay check. Combined, my wife and I pay nearly 100k in income taxes (we’re in Canada). I don’t qualify for any subsidy or program that I’m paying for, and we don’t even have a family doctor. I have 2 kids to care for, and the price of food, and every other child necessity and activity is going up by the day. I’m locked into a decent mortgage rate for two more years at which point I’ll probably lose my house at the new rates. I guess we’ll see.

My best solution, temporarily, is to buy an old school bus, or large van, and install a pot-belly. At least you can sleep on a mattress, and keep warm and cook some food. Also you can keep a few more possessions, than if living in a car. In the summer it helps to use a gas-cooker or barbecue, outside, to cook, otherwise you'll get too hot.

I thought I had screwed myself about 20 years ago when I needed a decent new car, and the interest was through the roof, not because of bad credit , but because of no credit. I was old fashioned most of my life, and only bought what I could afford, out of a modest paycheck. I would shop at thrift stores for clothng all through the 70's and 80's, bought dishes and sometimes furniture at yard sales. I started saving money by buying silver, I used it up, wore it out, did with and or did without. Never felt poor, really poor, but sometimes I would feel sorry for myself. Got a fixed mortgage in 1999, as soon as the ink was dry, the relentless promotions to get homeowners loans, equity loans began. It was tempting, but I said no. I met an honest mechanic who would sell me used cars for under 6k, and I would drive them for 4-5 years, no payments. Am I a loser? Some people would see me that way, I know. But I do not owe a dime outside of mortgage, property tax, electric and phone, and I make more than enough to pay for it all. The extra dollars pay for streaming and animal care and very good food. Net worth? Not much beyond property. My son lives with me and helps me, we get along just fine, and thank God when I pass he will have no bills and a home and 5 acres. When you turn out the lights and look at the moon on the snow around my home, it is just as beautiful whether or not I am looking from a million dollar home or the double wide I live in. A lot of people put themselves in debt to start business, that is a shame. But for those who borrowed and borrowed and borrowed to keep up with the Jones', I just shrug. I never had to go on public assistance in my long life. I guess Medicare is, but I paid into that, as I did social security. There is no shame if a family takes in an adult son or daughter, or grandparent to help with expenses, and help each other. It was the way life in the country was done a long time ago. America is not doing great, no, in this area, 30% of the kids my son went to school with are on drugs, many of the others are complaining about how hard it is, but are driving trucks with monthly payments equal to my mortgage. With bills like that, I imagine life is very hard. Usury will break the borrower.
My Dad built a basement apartment for my Grandma, and rented a room to my Uncle upstairs, till my Uncle got married and moved out, it helped Dad with the mortgage, they both paid some rent, and I got to be with family all the time. So I guess I was raised with that value.
This is a big problem, I think. So many buy into the "move out as soon as humanly (legally) possible" mentality, which too often achieves nothing more than pushing people into financial hardship and a survivor mentality. It's hard to fight a global cabal if you can barely survive day-to-day, after all.
And aside from the financial aspect, what's frankly even worse is that the idea of needing to "get your own place" directly implies that our place isn't together with our families. The cabal love to destroy everything that is good, such as family.

I don’t know how people do it and still pay for everything else. I have a 93 truck that I keep on the road because newer ones are so expensive. It’s just crazy the cost of everything.
Yep we had a guy helping us 12 hours on Saturday and Sunday all summer make enough money to buy an old used truck. Then in December he was here for a week fixing it. Guys like him who work like mad and can fix anything still can barley afford a family. It's nuts.
I fix everything myself on my cars and my house. I don’t know how people can afford to pay to fix things especially right now with the prices going up so much. I work on cars for a living so I’m not rich but luckily I was able to buy my house at 23 and now have it paid off. I could never do it now.
My car is about 18 years old and a new one today costs about double what a new one cost back in '06 with pretty much the same features. The new ones have hardly any more horsepower either.

Dividends were paying out bigger than ever, boomers that invested had much more financial security and spendable income… I have watched these same portfolios loose 40 percent since Biden took over. Makes boomers nervous, they quit spending, trickles down to us not making as much in sales, services, etc
Once you realize it's fake, it all makes sense. I just watched "The Big Short" the other day and the hedge fund guys were all scratching their heads in agony because of the costs they had to pay in the short term to cover their bets in order for their big payoff to pay once the market crashed. They discovered the market was so corrupt that it took a year past their projection to actually crash. They had to pay something like $10 million a month in maintenance rates, but they made like $10 billion after the crash. In any event, the corruption we see in this market has artificially kept it up so long that it's been probably two years past when it should have crashed. They can't allow a crash till after the election or it backfires on Dems.
My husband and I, as well as our closest friends and their spouses, have never earned more than we do right now, but are on the edge of struggle. We’re not big spenders, none of us are house poor or drive luxury vehicles…it’s insane. If it’s getting tough for US, I cannot imagine families that don’t make even close to what we do.
I'm not struggling, but my life has changed A LOT. I already sacrificed a lot to be a single income family so my wife can raise the children at home and I have an extremely good income. Three years ago, we could save decent money, eat out as a family once or twice a week, invest, take one or two small vacations, do home improvement, and I could enjoy all of my hobbies without stressing about money at all. We have no debt, except mortgage debt, and still have no debt as we refuse to use credit for anything. Nowadays, I can no longer eat out unless I happen to score some pocket change for a $3.00 hamburger at the Hawaiian BBQ down the street. It's crazy how much things can change in three years. Last week's burger was literally paid at the counter in quarters and dimes, something I haven't had to do since college. The lady taking my order was kinda surprised to see me pay that way. We see the need for more savings than usual looking forward, so our purchases are reduced to only essentials and we do home delivery on everything because we cant afford too much gas right now (it's $6/gallon in my area) on our adjusted budget. I can't go out to do any of my usual hobbies, which has been extremely hard on me, but I'm not suffering--just learning to live without. Working on/driving my old collector car, building stuff/home improvement, target practice and long range shooting. Parts, materials, ammunition, and fuel are just too costly to do any of it. I still have my rabbit farm at least. I refuse to give up the clean vax-free meat we produce. It does suck sometimes, but I'm still luckier than most with no debt. Boredom around the house is absolutely a luxury to complain about. As a side hustle to offset inflation and pad savings a bit, I've been going through everything I own finding stuff to sell. I've been selling collectibles, an old car, and surplus military gear that I don't use or have too much of to pad our savings a bit more. eBay has been quite a side hustle for me lately, but I can only sell so much without cutting into my preps and I'm thinking those preps may be needed soon. I'm honestly ok. I'm annoyed that I can't do hardly any of the stuff I love and I'm certainly getting increasingly agitated at the folks causing this, but for now I'm ok. God has absolutely blessed me, and I know I'm doing far better than most. That said, I'm surrounded by hobos, crime, and homeless encampments that only get larger. It's not safe to go out. Everyone in my immediate circle under age 40 is struggling. One of my best friends went bankrupt, went through bankruptcy, lost his job, and had to move in with his elderly parents......that seems to be increasingly common these days. I know that this year I'm probably going to be furloughed at least 25%, which will eliminate our monthly savings but we'll carry on. What scares me is, I can't afford much more inflation and I know more is coming. If things get real bad (50% furlough or worse), I suppose I have two rooms to rent and can eliminate investments.....but damn at that point nobody will be hiring and certainly in my neighborhood the truly impoverished will be looking for blood. If someone like me is only impacted, then most are actually suffering and I'm not sure how much longer this can go on.
I'm dancing so close to the line it ain't even funny. Head of Household when your SO is disabled and you have to triple your personal income because of the loss of her income and the loss due to inflation is terrifying.

On the other hand, a lot of people have a scarcity mindset that keeps them trapped in a single place in the country, where you could simply transplant your family to an affordable town and get an entry level job while you weather the situation, but no, some of these folks can't imagine living far from their concrete jungles and expensive lattes. Given, this person has cancer and that sucks for anyone, at put one of the providers out of income, if I were to have a family I would strive for self-sufficiency, being frugal and saving every penny I can to never see myself in such a position.

It's interesting how we're ALL struggling right now, those of us who try and who work and who were doing well not so long ago. So many of us are living paycheck to paycheck or are in debt due to this economy. Meanwhile, there are countless videos on TikTok and articles on Yahoo and other rags pushing Gen Z's brilliant idea to try "quiet quitting" and refusing to work a normal job or even pay for services. Those in power have no use for us anymore. There's virtually nothing a robot can't do at this point. They're prepping us for owning nothing, having no job/career/business, and depending on them for crumbs.

Maybe. But they don’t control peoples mind. If the demoncrats offer everyone say $5,000 right before the election to keep them out of homelessness or other dire situations, how many people will accept the handout and how many people will have already turned to God? This is an invisible war for your soul. Rejecting our one true savior and expecting the government save us from anything is a road trip to hell. Sadly those who have not yet been saved by Christ may think the government is the only way.
This is all very true, but for those of us who accepted Christ over 20 years ago, and I’ve been awake since I was seven, this is all getting pretty old for me. But there are a lot of people who are not awake yet.
Personally, I don’t think the true Great Awakening will be until the second coming of Christ. As long as evil, satan, is in the world, there will be no peace. Satan hates us, he hates that were made in His image, and he’s going to continue to drag us until the last second. There’s not gonna be this Great Awakening everybody keeps thinking about in terms of peace, joy, and love all around the world, until Satan’s, not in any more.
That’s the second coming. But people don’t like when I say that, because they think that Q and Donald Trump are gonna come save the day. I have a hard time with that belief system, because it doesn’t say that anywhere in any Q post. It’s just an assumption based on the plan, whatever that is. Because we really don’t even know what that is completely because there have not been any further posts by Q.
If somebody here could actually summarize what The Plan is - I would appreciate it. Please educate me. I don’t understand the Q Posts, when people make posts with all the squares and arrows, pointing everywhere, it’s just beyond me. I think I know what a delta is, that’s when the same date of a Q post - aligns with some activity that’s occurring? I need help understanding.
