I'm just going to say: Don't blindly trust it

Someone's still going to have to comb through these every single time.

I'm really against the need for AI to read long bills. If they're that long they shouldn't be voted on at all. If the average person can't read them in full in an hour or so it shouldn't be even brought up for debate.

I could see this opening the door to massive bills that AI reads and summarizes into a few hours of reading.. but it skips key pieces (either programmed after elon dies, programmed without his knowledge to skip), and everyone votes on the bill that has a clause 'everyone will willfully be enslaved when this is passed'

I completely agree. No more omnibus bills where the entire kitchen sink is thrown in. No more Continuing Resolutions either.

All of us have to figure out how to pay our bills on time. All of us have to budget and save accordingly. Our reps are supposed to represent us. Time to act as we do.

Bills should be itemized with simple up down votes.

I know I am barking at the wind. But just wanted to say it.

If I had the money, I would send 535 quills and ink pots to Congress and then to our state houses as well. Bills should be written with a quill so the temptation of producing verbal diarrhea via word processing is discouraged. It was good enough for our founding fathers. Ergo, it is good enough for our representatives today.

Also, their pay should come from their state not a federal paymaster. They should have whatever their state decides to give them like every other state employee. Then they won't be able to vote.their own pay raises.

I'm all for this. Do any of us, at this point, blindly trust? If the AI points out something we can read it ourselves.

Right now I judge by the bill's title. If it says one thing, it means the opposite.

That's the problem. We should be able to blindly trust AI, because it's logic based. However, as we've seen the programmers of AI are more than happy to program bias in, we can't trust AI at all. It's a real shame. I use AI, and it gives me code well enough. I test it. But i don't trust it for other things, and have to double check to see if it's lying to me.

Trust because it is logic based? OMG, no, that is how you get a dystopian future. Logic is great but it is also inhuman if it is used exclusively for all decision making. Logically many activities people enjoy should be eliminated. Logically many people should be eliminated.

Good points. I cannot believe that this utter bullshit of voting on two questions at once is allowed, let alone hundreds of points and questions at once. It's outrageous and should not be tolerated.

AI might be somewhat helpful here and I'm glad Elon is at least attempting to do some good here; but you're right, these programs cannot be trusted. They DO make shit up because they don't know the difference between fact and fiction. If nothing else, no one should ever, ever use it to get medical information. Again: It Makes Shit Up.

One side's AI will draft massive bills.

The other side's AI will counter argue the bill.

The amount will be so overwhelming that we "humans" can't keep up.

It actually is. Our Founding Fathers set up the legislative Branch to create bills that were specific to one purpose and not convoluted or confusing. What they are doing today is unconstitutional, and goes against the principles upon which our Republic was established.

They are also not supposed to pass any laws that require more than 10 years to pay back.

AI is a catastrophic disaster to humanity, just like fake news and TV. It will dumb down the population and make them unable to do independent research, as they just consult their AI "expert" that is programmed to twist facts in favor of a narrative that is pushed onto the people.

An similar argument can be made for the internet. We are so heavily dependent on search engines and electronic databases. If the internet goes down, we lose everything. Can't do research, and can't communicate. Nobody knows how to use a library.

The only thing these Omnibus bills fund is the deep state including their lobbyist friends and the companies they represent. Why doesn't Congress stop it? Because those same companies fund the politicians. Example: Company X charges $10,000 for a toilet seat and $1000 comes back as political "donations".
The bills are huge to make them unreadable and both parties sign Continuing Resolutions at the last minute to kick the debt load further down the road.

I hope Trump cuts the size and scope of the federal government by 50% in year 1 and an additional 10% in each of the following 3 years.
