At my grocery store today, Coke was on a buy 1, get 2 free, and there was plenty of product. Having a little trouble moving your product?

People need to stop drinking this poison anyway. Enough acid to dissolve a penny, the enamel on your teeth, and clean your toilet bowl, and enough GMO HFCS sweetener to cause your liver to implode after each can.
Slightly related: My buddy was forced to stop drinking Mountain Dew after getting kidney stones that almost landed him in the hospital. It was a direct result of not drinking water AND chugging a 12 pack of soda a week from the fridge along with eating takeout and having a large soda with each meal.
Soft drinks are the single worst "food" item in the American diet. It is just death.
7th leading cause of death in the nation (diabetes)
And we sell it to children in vending machines
Another silver lining to the Great Awakening: people are waking up to truth about EVERYTHING, including how we are being poisoned by all the toxic crap in our food.
On telegram there is even a channel called “QAnonNutrition” that talks about all of this.
Finally!
the only thing it's good for is mixing with whiskey... 4 parts whiskey... one part cola.... and then 4 more whiskey...
It is... just like once a month or two though I crave a Mountain Dew
Local? You do know what the I in IPA stands for?
Well, yes. The India pale ale. The style of beer, and not its origin. It's not Scotch.
What are you getting at? It's a style of beer, not imported from India
You do know what a local brewery is, right?
I still drink that crap once in a while.
People above are being a bit dramatic. Just brush your teefs.
With everything in moderation.
I used to say that, too, before I found heroin.
Hunter?
I've never seen a skinny person drinking Diet Coke. It's ok, I'll still keep drinking that garbage!
Drink the natural flavored bubbly water instead.....Le Croix for example, there are also all kinds of knock offs. No sugar, no corona syrup.... typo intended/s
Good Lord. I'm all for flavored seltzer but please don't suggest they try Le Croix as an entry level seltzer! The key word is "flavored", which that stuff doesn't have ?
I can't give up my diet coke....it will kill me, but hey, I probably also have chocolate running through my veins as well!
Switch to store brands in the 2 liter bottles. Much cheaper that way.
Hah, that stuff taste like shit. Cant do it. I did however give it up for lent and still haven't had one.
Nothing like an aborted baby tested and approved beverage. They sure market test those flavors to addictive perfection, eh?
Thats because aspartame is more addictive than cocaine.
But you are literally CHOOSING to poison yourself.
Aspartame eats holes in brain tissue. No joke. It was an accidental discovery by GE Searle, a drug company. When they realized they had a super cheap formula that tasted sweet, they tried to grt FDA approval for years, but ALL the FDA scientists said no, that ot caused neurological damage and should NEVER be approved for human consumption.
So Searle brought Donald Rumsfeld onto their board who then called his pal Ronnie Reagan. Second thing Reagan did after becoming prez? He fired the head of the FDA and replaced him with Arthur Hull Hayes Jr, who immediately OVERRULED ALL THE FDA SCIENTISTS and approved aspartame for use in food.
It has been poisoning us ever since. Gulf War syndrome was actually aspartame poisoning after they sent pallets of diet coke to Saudi Arabia for the troops, but the pallets sat in the 118* sun.
When it gets warm (I think its 83 deg), aspartame breaks down into formaldehyde, methanol, and formic acid (what fire ants sting with). Hence all the sick soldiers.
And they may use refrigerated trucks to deliver, but I cant count how many times Ive seen big pallets sitting on a loading dock in the sun.
Um yeah...no thanks.
It isn't that simple. GMOs can affect your DNA. And the cumulative effect of even “just a few here and there” can lead to significant health issues.
This is the Great Awakening. Time to wake up to how we have been poisoned for decades with toxic crap in our food supply. Time to stop being a willing victim to that. Time to take a stand and just say NO MORE.
Soft drink = soft kill
When I was a child, my grandparents had 2 refrigerators: one in the kitchen, and one by the back door that had nothing but six packs of glass Coke bottles from top to bottom. When a child was able to sit up and hold a baby bottle, they could have their own coke bottle (the small ones!) at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
That was several decades ago, and I still have enamel on my teeth despite drinking Coke all my life. I still have a healthy liver. And since normal stomach pH is <2.5, Coke or any other acidic drink isn't going to hurt it. In fact, if your stomach isn't below a pH of 2.5, preferably around 2.0, then your Lower Esophageal Sphincter won't close properly and you'll have a lot of reflux problems.
Coke is great to keep the drains and pipes in my house running freely too.
There are many reasons to argue against buying Coke products at this point in time, but the reasons you gave are not among them.
Soda used to be more of a treat, now it is often consumed several times a day. Yeah, and sugar was one thing but the HFCS is very bad. Our bodies don't know how to process it and it can destroy the liver. Now, non-alcoholic liver disease is a thing.
I have always been able to make soda last a long time, but I like the little cans they have now, even though they are a little more expensive. You get just a taste, which is all I really wanted anyway and I don't waste the larger can or feel compelled to finish it. That and I switched to drinking more sparkling water. I discovered what I was really missing was not the sugar et al, but the bubbles...
I love the Soda Stream machine I bought cheap on black Friday. It turns tap water into sparkling water and I create custom flavors from little bottles.
Unless carbonated water is a bad thing, I see no significant downside to my way of staying hydrated.
Yes exactly, the bubbles... scrubbing bulbs that wash down the sticky flem and bad tastes from foods, cigars, chewing tobacco etc..
The little cans are a great idea. I wish some of the sugar-cane sodas went to those.
Long ago I read a marketing book by John Sculley (CEO of Pepsi before his short stint at Apple) It was very interesting about the Cola Wars and how (and why) they introduced corn syrup. I think it was Coke early on that found that the bigger sized they made the bottles, the more people would buy. Then came things like the Big Gulp (which kept getting bigger and bigger) and Super Size.
OK, I will concede on the phosphoric acid part, but it's still bad for you in the amount most people consume. That said, HFCS is the liver bomb I was referring to. HFCS contains higher amounts of fructose which is converted to triglycerides in the liver. If you look up the history of HFCS in cola, it was only since the early 80's that it became a problem because that's when Coke started adding it to their formula. Before this, pure sugar was the sweetener of choice and is preferable in nearly every usage scenario aside from cost-savings.
My argument latterly has been that if you're eating enough sugar for the type of sugar to matter, you're eating too much sugar.
Sugar water isnt good for people
It's bad
Majorly bad
I agree, but I'll probably get killed in down votes....LOL
So what do I use now to get the rust stains from my well water out of my toilets and sinks? I only used it as a cleaning product and would buy a 2 liter ever other month for the deep cleaning.
You can still buy bulk phosphoric acid since that is the substance that does the job. Look up a recommended dilution scale and then make your own toilet / sink cleaner.
https://www.amazon.com/phosphoric-acid/s?k=phosphoric+acid
And where do we buy it instead of Amazon because we're boycotting Amazon too?
Looks like you can buy a gallon of Duda Energy phosphoric acid on Amazon for $44.03 ( https://www.amazon.com/Gallon-Grade-Phosphoric-Remover-Clean/dp/B06XZSW3QX/ ), or you can go directly to the manufacturer's website and purchase for $29.67 a gallon. ( https://www.dudadiesel.com/search.php?query=phosphoric+acid )
Ew Amazon.
Yay to making stuff yourself.
Vinegar works too.
Vinegar is already diluted to 5% acidity uselessness. Use phosphoric acid.
I have the orange hard water stains and C.L.R. and kaboom cleaners work miracles on it, I usually just pour a little in the toilet overnight once a week to keep it maintained.
Eating Taco Bell once a month seems to deliver similar results for me .... I suspect a similar mechanism.
Pumas Stone works perfectly for toilets and sinks, plus it will take The calluses off the feet of your wife.
I'll stick with fermented water.
You can pry my Mountain Dew from my cold, dead hands!
Theyre only cold and dead because you died of heart disease secondary to diabetes, sacrificing years of your life to the coca cola company
No big deal. Bottoms up!
Totally worth it. Btw Mountain Dew is a pepsi product.
Mountain Dew is a Pepsi product. I'm dumb...is Pepsi another of the ~200 to boycott?
Haven't seen/heard anything specific yet.
there's something about Pepsi and fetal cells but don't remember all the details, maybe someone else does?? I've switched to RC Cola, and it's been fine. said they donated quite a bit more to Republicans, so that's a positive. wish it had cane sugar, but it works for now.
Great! I stopped all office purchases of Coke products (15 people), mentioned to associate and he sold all his coca cola stockholdings. 2000 shares.
What's weird is that their shenanigans had nill effect on share value. But that controversial peloton ad plummeted their share value. That inevitably rebounded due to people already invested in the $2k bike, and being forced to stay inside.
I stopped drinking soda a few years ago. Water and Iced tea for me (and vodka). In the summertime I make sun tea. Otherwise I drink unsweetened Gold Peak over ice with lemon. Upwards of a half gallon a day. Just learned Coca-Cola owns Gold Peak. Switching to Lipton/Pepsi owned Pure Leaf until summer.
Just make your own tea. It's far cheaper to buy a box of black tea bags. You can even make it outside using the sun when the summer hits. Just get a glass brewing vessel and leave it on the porch in direct sunlight for a few hours or until it warms up and you get the flavor you're looking for.
This is the way. I have an iced tea brewer that does a nice job, just quicker than sun tea. For flavor, I toss one lemon or peach tea bag in with the black tea. I find that any of the prepackaged bottled teas (even Lipton) are just too cloyingly sweet for my taste.
I've looked into iced tea brewers, but never pulled the trigger on one. What model do you have?
I've had a $20 Mr Coffee one for over 10 years and love it. I am not sure they make them anymore, though. It is like this one: https://www.mrcoffee.com/specialty-brewers/tea/mr.-coffee-iced-tea-maker-3-qt.-black/SAP_TM75BK1.html
Also, Newman's Own brand tea is really good. Or if you like strong tea, Red Rose tea is good, too.
This. Pour in water and drop tea bags where the coffee filter goes ( in filter if needed).
My mom anon has one like that, she uses it a lot. She wanted to get one like mine, but they weren't selling those where she was shopping. It's a pretty simple technology, so if you stick with a brand you recognize, you should be good to go.
It's a West Bend. I've had it for years. Solid product, easy to use. I do skip the ice in the brewing process.
Mine has been setting dead in the garage for several years now.
Bring it out of retirement and enjoy a lovely glass of tea in the fresh air and sunshine. :)
I’m in Vegas. Nothing but sunshine and Dems here!
I never do it right, but I am a sun tea master!
I made sun, moon, sun tea once, it was good.
My mom always made tea that way in the summer.
So... it tastes like Pepsi?
Make sure you find out who owns “Gold Peak” or distributes it. Coca Cola owns a lot of shit
...(and vodka). Too funny.
You can buy an electric iced tea maker for ~$40 and you will save a ton of money brewing your own.
A pitcher would last you two days at your current consumption rate.
Here in MI.... Coke and Pepsi fully stocked in my grocery store.....Faygo diplay bare to the Bone.?
How about that vernors fren. Playing some euchre?
Great for Easter..... ham and frens.?
I see nothing's changed in Old Detroit.
Reminder: Coca-cola owns dozens of drink brands, including Schweppes, Dasani, Vitamin Water, Powerade, and Gold Peak tea.
https://www.coca-colacompany.com/brands
And Fairlife milk and protein shakes. ?
?Fairlife milk! I had no idea!
Good to have, thanks for sharing
It seems to be the same at my favorite store (Publix).
Water is wonderful.
I've found kombucha to be the best soda replacement. Lightly sweetened, helps your gut, and complements the same foods that sodas do. I've noticed that people aren't inclined to chug it like they do sodas or beer--a small glass is sufficient. A lot of areas have local kombucha brewers you can refill from.
I wish I had been a Coke drinker, but I can't do the boycott since it has not passed my lips for over a decade.
There are many other beverages(juices bottled water and tea)produced by the CC corp. Also dairy products. https://www.coca-colacompany.com/brands
I stopped drinking all soda years ago. I am a soda stream WATER only user who only got it because I found out I like the fizz and don't miss the sugar or sweeteners at all.
So Coke nor Pepsi have been making any money off of this household for years.
Yea I quit drinking soda also 13 years ago. I only like the FIZZ. Flavor isn’t important. As long as it’s cold with no flavor. I think it’s the texture I crave. Kinda like those rocket pop candy that pops in your mouth back in the day.
love pop rocks too. buy them whenever I go go dollar tree.
funny how many of us like things that fizz?
If anyone is looking for a replacement, Safeway’s Signature Select Diet Cola Soda is pretty close to Diet Coke. Way cheaper too.
Kinda related, but kinda not.
I don't like Coke or Pepsi.
My favorite is Dr. Pepper, but they are corporate as well.
Does anyone know a phosphoric acid based soda that is nationally available and hasn't gone woke?
Phosphorus is a necessary mineral, and they rarely put it in food despite being essential for calcium deposition. They don't sell supplements, because raw elemental phosphorus is explosive, so the only place I can get it is in colas.
Thanks in advance.
Time for DIY with SodaStream?
I've got one but haven't used it in awhile. I gave up Diet Coke years ago when I understood what fake sweeteners are made of. I drink only filtered water anymore but hubby likes the carbonation. The soda stream isn't bad.
I love my soda stream. I made myself keep drinking carbonated water until I liked it. It wasnt the cloying sweetness of sodas I missed, it was the acidic bite. Nothing more refreshing than iced carbonated water!
I always liked RC over both Coke and Pepsi. I even remember the bottle draft that they had for a while that had hints of chocolate in it. Not sure if RC is a woke corp or not.
RC is good stuff. I wish I hadn't missed out on RC Draft. It sounded so good.
Royal Crown (RC)?
So dip tampons in my favorite beverage... got it.
We bought a soda stream a few years ago and haven't looked back. You can get sugar free in all flavors including tonic.
I just use plain water with no flavor. I discovered it is the FIZZ I liked the best.
Ha! I do that too...but I usually add lemon.
I love fizz too. especially a soda in the morning, so much better than coffee.
Goya Tropical Soda?????? I don't know if it's that acid thing you want but they do make a soda...
I'm curious, how do people who are not on the net know that Trump has called for coke to be boycotted?
Who isn't on the net in 2021?
They're coming down from the mountains with their change jars and buying the basics like flour and sugar.
The Amish aren't buying Coke.
LOL. I was thinking of people past 60 years old... But maybe I've got it wrong. I must have got it wrong, I know there are some pedes here who are 70.
Sadly, with applause, we have to show them who's boss and in charge here. Coke offered themselves up as a sacrifice so the world can see where the real majority of human beings gather. Guns are just one rally point. But we have massive power.
Coke did this right before Easter, not only a major Christian holiday but also a retail one. Get woke, go broke, no?
I am a diet pepsi guy myself. I dislike coke for the most part. I was drinking 4-6 liters a day, I was feeling like shit. I have cut down to only 5 liters the last whole week and have been drinking lots of water. I am actually feeling waaaaay better.
Keep it up, fren. You'll be amazed how great you feel when you cut it all out entirely! Diet Pepsi was the final fizzy I was drinking on the regular; had my last one almost 20 years ago...and I don't miss it at all!
I am going to cut it way back and replace with water. I am always thirsty and chugging water is better then diet pepsi all day, but I dont think I can give it up completely.
Try something like this if water becomes boring. I was on coffee and water only for about 9 months but eventually had to make the water more interesting. Squeezing your own lemon/lime juice works great, but there's also some really good drink mixes out there without all the extra crap:
https://www.truelemon.com/pages/drink-water-more-deliciously
Good for you! Every little bit helps. :)
Stop destroying your immune system with liquid sugar and chemicals. Water, teas are so much better for you.
I switched over to tea a long time ago. Healthier.
I can’t believe it took this for people to stop drinking that fucking trash, it’s unbelievable how bad it is for your body.
I quit buying Coke a few months ago. I always like to tell waitstaff, when I asked if they had Coke, and they said "No, we have Pepsi", and I would say, "I'll just have water". At least I don't have to ask now; water it is :)
I want to hurt them so bad they'll have to return to the original (Coka) formula to make a profit.
Biden would be all for legalizing that!
If you feel the need to, you can make your own coke at home. They are videos online.
When I was young we only got soda at special events. We were always told it’ll spoil your dinner and stuff like that.
Our local store has 4 - 6 pks for $10 which I usually buy lots of because my husband works outside. Instead, I went to Dollar General and got 3- Pepsi 6 pks for $9. Coke is gonna lose a lot of money from us this summer !!
I told a guy today to boycott them, he said he was addicted. Keep up the pressure!
What’s the boycott about? Is it the Be Less White thing?
That's part of it, but the main reason is Coca Cola, which is headquartered in Atlanta, GA spoke out against Georgia instituting voter ID.
Thanks. I didn’t hear about that. No more Diet Coke for me. Just water, beer and coffee.
That's pretty standard around here. Doesn't change my opinion that you should opt out just saying I highly doubt your sale has anything to do with the boycott..yet. Give it a month.
Luckily, I physically cant tolerate carbonated soda. The only carbonation I have ever drank is heavily diluted Airborne (zinc, vit C and D).
I’ve totally embraced this coke ban. Now I just get rum shots instead of rum and Coke’s.
lol.. i went to a walrusmart today and looked at the coke for half a second and bought something that was NOT a coke product. the shelves had an ample supply of the woke slop!
I have also noticed that our local store that the sales are intended to make the product move haha. I'm not so sure it's working.
The local party store in my town told the coke guy to fly a kite and there is very little in there now.
