Coke boycott is working! Keep it going.
posted 5 years ago by Factfiler 5 years ago by Factfiler +426 / -0

At my grocery store today, Coke was on a buy 1, get 2 free, and there was plenty of product. Having a little trouble moving your product?

People need to stop drinking this poison anyway. Enough acid to dissolve a penny, the enamel on your teeth, and clean your toilet bowl, and enough GMO HFCS sweetener to cause your liver to implode after each can.

Slightly related: My buddy was forced to stop drinking Mountain Dew after getting kidney stones that almost landed him in the hospital. It was a direct result of not drinking water AND chugging a 12 pack of soda a week from the fridge along with eating takeout and having a large soda with each meal.

Another silver lining to the Great Awakening: people are waking up to truth about EVERYTHING, including how we are being poisoned by all the toxic crap in our food.

On telegram there is even a channel called “QAnonNutrition” that talks about all of this.

Finally!

Thats because aspartame is more addictive than cocaine.

But you are literally CHOOSING to poison yourself.

Aspartame eats holes in brain tissue. No joke. It was an accidental discovery by GE Searle, a drug company. When they realized they had a super cheap formula that tasted sweet, they tried to grt FDA approval for years, but ALL the FDA scientists said no, that ot caused neurological damage and should NEVER be approved for human consumption.

So Searle brought Donald Rumsfeld onto their board who then called his pal Ronnie Reagan. Second thing Reagan did after becoming prez? He fired the head of the FDA and replaced him with Arthur Hull Hayes Jr, who immediately OVERRULED ALL THE FDA SCIENTISTS and approved aspartame for use in food.

It has been poisoning us ever since. Gulf War syndrome was actually aspartame poisoning after they sent pallets of diet coke to Saudi Arabia for the troops, but the pallets sat in the 118* sun.

When it gets warm (I think its 83 deg), aspartame breaks down into formaldehyde, methanol, and formic acid (what fire ants sting with). Hence all the sick soldiers.

And they may use refrigerated trucks to deliver, but I cant count how many times Ive seen big pallets sitting on a loading dock in the sun.

Um yeah...no thanks.

It isn't that simple. GMOs can affect your DNA. And the cumulative effect of even “just a few here and there” can lead to significant health issues.

This is the Great Awakening. Time to wake up to how we have been poisoned for decades with toxic crap in our food supply. Time to stop being a willing victim to that. Time to take a stand and just say NO MORE.

When I was a child, my grandparents had 2 refrigerators: one in the kitchen, and one by the back door that had nothing but six packs of glass Coke bottles from top to bottom. When a child was able to sit up and hold a baby bottle, they could have their own coke bottle (the small ones!) at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

That was several decades ago, and I still have enamel on my teeth despite drinking Coke all my life. I still have a healthy liver. And since normal stomach pH is <2.5, Coke or any other acidic drink isn't going to hurt it. In fact, if your stomach isn't below a pH of 2.5, preferably around 2.0, then your Lower Esophageal Sphincter won't close properly and you'll have a lot of reflux problems.

Coke is great to keep the drains and pipes in my house running freely too.

There are many reasons to argue against buying Coke products at this point in time, but the reasons you gave are not among them.

Soda used to be more of a treat, now it is often consumed several times a day. Yeah, and sugar was one thing but the HFCS is very bad. Our bodies don't know how to process it and it can destroy the liver. Now, non-alcoholic liver disease is a thing.

I have always been able to make soda last a long time, but I like the little cans they have now, even though they are a little more expensive. You get just a taste, which is all I really wanted anyway and I don't waste the larger can or feel compelled to finish it. That and I switched to drinking more sparkling water. I discovered what I was really missing was not the sugar et al, but the bubbles...

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– EarOfCornpop 2 points 5 years ago +2 / -0

I love the Soda Stream machine I bought cheap on black Friday. It turns tap water into sparkling water and I create custom flavors from little bottles.

Unless carbonated water is a bad thing, I see no significant downside to my way of staying hydrated.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– Rpaddymac1 1 point 5 years ago +1 / -0

Yes exactly, the bubbles... scrubbing bulbs that wash down the sticky flem and bad tastes from foods, cigars, chewing tobacco etc..

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– seasonedcastiron 1 point 5 years ago +1 / -0

The little cans are a great idea. I wish some of the sugar-cane sodas went to those.

Long ago I read a marketing book by John Sculley (CEO of Pepsi before his short stint at Apple) It was very interesting about the Cola Wars and how (and why) they introduced corn syrup. I think it was Coke early on that found that the bigger sized they made the bottles, the more people would buy. Then came things like the Big Gulp (which kept getting bigger and bigger) and Super Size.

OK, I will concede on the phosphoric acid part, but it's still bad for you in the amount most people consume. That said, HFCS is the liver bomb I was referring to. HFCS contains higher amounts of fructose which is converted to triglycerides in the liver. If you look up the history of HFCS in cola, it was only since the early 80's that it became a problem because that's when Coke started adding it to their formula. Before this, pure sugar was the sweetener of choice and is preferable in nearly every usage scenario aside from cost-savings.

You can still buy bulk phosphoric acid since that is the substance that does the job. Look up a recommended dilution scale and then make your own toilet / sink cleaner.

Looks like you can buy a gallon of Duda Energy phosphoric acid on Amazon for $44.03 ( https://www.amazon.com/Gallon-Grade-Phosphoric-Remover-Clean/dp/B06XZSW3QX/ ), or you can go directly to the manufacturer's website and purchase for $29.67 a gallon. I stopped drinking soda a few years ago. Water and Iced tea for me (and vodka). In the summertime I make sun tea. Otherwise I drink unsweetened Gold Peak over ice with lemon. Upwards of a half gallon a day. Just learned Coca-Cola owns Gold Peak. Switching to Lipton/Pepsi owned Pure Leaf until summer.

Just make your own tea. It's far cheaper to buy a box of black tea bags. You can even make it outside using the sun when the summer hits. Just get a glass brewing vessel and leave it on the porch in direct sunlight for a few hours or until it warms up and you get the flavor you're looking for.

This is the way. I have an iced tea brewer that does a nice job, just quicker than sun tea. For flavor, I toss one lemon or peach tea bag in with the black tea. I find that any of the prepackaged bottled teas (even Lipton) are just too cloyingly sweet for my taste.

I've found kombucha to be the best soda replacement. Lightly sweetened, helps your gut, and complements the same foods that sodas do. I've noticed that people aren't inclined to chug it like they do sodas or beer--a small glass is sufficient. A lot of areas have local kombucha brewers you can refill from.

Does anyone know a phosphoric acid based soda that is nationally available and hasn't gone woke?

Phosphorus is a necessary mineral, and they rarely put it in food despite being essential for calcium deposition. They don't sell supplements, because raw elemental phosphorus is explosive, so the only place I can get it is in colas.

Thanks in advance.

Sadly, with applause, we have to show them who's boss and in charge here. Coke offered themselves up as a sacrifice so the world can see where the real majority of human beings gather. Guns are just one rally point. But we have massive power.

Coke did this right before Easter, not only a major Christian holiday but also a retail one. Get woke, go broke, no?

I am a diet pepsi guy myself. I dislike coke for the most part. I was drinking 4-6 liters a day, I was feeling like shit. I have cut down to only 5 liters the last whole week and have been drinking lots of water. I am actually feeling waaaaay better.

Keep it up, fren. You'll be amazed how great you feel when you cut it all out entirely! Diet Pepsi was the final fizzy I was drinking on the regular; had my last one almost 20 years ago...and I don't miss it at all!

I am going to cut it way back and replace with water. I am always thirsty and chugging water is better then diet pepsi all day, but I dont think I can give it up completely.

Try something like this if water becomes boring. I was on coffee and water only for about 9 months but eventually had to make the water more interesting. Squeezing your own lemon/lime juice works great, but there's also some really good drink mixes out there without all the extra crap:

Stop destroying your immune system with liquid sugar and chemicals. Water, teas are so much better for you.

I can’t believe it took this for people to stop drinking that fucking trash, it’s unbelievable how bad it is for your body.

I quit buying Coke a few months ago. I always like to tell waitstaff, when I asked if they had Coke, and they said "No, we have Pepsi", and I would say, "I'll just have water". At least I don't have to ask now; water it is :)

I want to hurt them so bad they'll have to return to the original (Coka) formula to make a profit.

If you feel the need to, you can make your own coke at home. They are videos online.

When I was young we only got soda at special events. We were always told it’ll spoil your dinner and stuff like that.

Our local store has 4 - 6 pks for $10 which I usually buy lots of because my husband works outside. Instead, I went to Dollar General and got 3- Pepsi 6 pks for $9. Coke is gonna lose a lot of money from us this summer !!

What’s the boycott about? Is it the Be Less White thing?

permalink save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– ThePowerOfPrayer 2 points 5 years ago +2 / -0

That's part of it, but the main reason is Coca Cola, which is headquartered in Atlanta, GA spoke out against Georgia instituting voter ID.

Thanks. I didn’t hear about that. No more Diet Coke for me. Just water, beer and coffee.

That's pretty standard around here. Doesn't change my opinion that you should opt out just saying I highly doubt your sale has anything to do with the boycott..yet. Give it a month.

Luckily, I physically cant tolerate carbonated soda. The only carbonation I have ever drank is heavily diluted Airborne (zinc, vit C and D).
