Someone help me out, but I believe I read the reason people lose their sense of taste/smell is because their bodies used up all its zinc fighting off the virus. So take some zinc, and magnesium to help absorb. NAC or querctine as well.

Lost both in September as well, but I’ve been taking zinc and quercetin and vit C and D. Still can’t smell but taste is a little better but not 100 percent. God, I hope my sense of smell comes back. I really took it for granted and could smell everything so keenly.

This reminds me of the 2 hour window within a mushroom or LSD trip where everything is sharper, has more depth, and more vibrancy. Heightened visual acuity.
Really wish I could retain those enhancements into sober reality.
There is nothing in them to physically upset your stomach. Next time recognize it as just internal tension and relax, it goes away. It's unrecpnciled contradictions, unresolved trauma and shit.
I believe you are right. I ate a lot of shitty food back then. Was on a trip with the boys and fastfood was our diet. That and maybe some anxiety about good trip versus bad trip did me in.
Have you heard of Praying Medic? With a little Faith in God, it's simple! The KEY is authority! Lot of patriots heal themselves and others lately, it's AMAZING what is going on, have a look at all the testimonies on Telegram:
Sometimes I can get distracted from the migraine pain, but for the most part it's impossible not to notice. Wish I had the kind of mental strength needed to ignore them.
So agree ty I try as well suffered 25 yrs now badly …my son would say like when I say breathe mom now you’re thinking about breathing but mind techniques help I do try them before it’s level 7-8 then I have to medicate it’s beyond severe get them daily but ty fren more information and reading on here is so well appreciated when I can screen time like u say ..also been stupid sick now 5 days my horse arrives soon cant wait (:
Ahh, I like that outlook. Sounds a lot less like you're trying to boss God around and more like you're utilizing his help. Thanks for the change in perspective. I'll try again.
Secondly, you pray for what you want and qualify it with "if it's your will."
The secret of secrets: humility is the soul of true prayer. Until the spirit of the heart is renewed, until it is emptied of all Earthly desires and stands in a habitual hunger and thirst after God, which is the true spirit of prayer, until then, all our prayer will be more or less like lessons given to students. We will mostly say them only because we dare not neglect them. But be not discouraged; take the following advice, and then you may go to church without any danger of mere lip-service or hypocrisy, although there may be a hymn or a prayer whose language is higher than that of your heart. Go to the church as the tax collector went to the temple; stand inwardly, in the spirit of your mind, in that form that he outwardly expressed when he cast down his eyes and could only say, “God be merciful to me, a sinner.” Stand unchangeably, at least in your desire, in this form or state of heart; it will sanctify every petition that comes out of your mouth; and when anything is read or sung or prayed that is more exalted than your heart is, if you make this an occasion of further identifying with the spirit of the tax collector, you will then be helped and highly blessed by those prayers and praises that seem to belong to a heart better than yours.
This, my friend, is the secret of secrets. It will help you to reap where you have not sown and will be a continual source of grace in your soul; for everything that inwardly stirs you or outwardly happens to you becomes good to you if it finds you in this humble state of mind. For nothing is in vain or without profit to the humble soul; it stands always in the state of divine growth, and everything that falls upon it is like dew for Heaven. Close yourself, therefore, in this form of humility; all good is enclosed in it; it is a fresh spring from Heaven that turns the fire of the fallen soul into the meekness of the divine life, and creates that oil out of which the love to God and man gets its flame. Be always clothed in it; let it be as a garment wherewith you are always covered and a shield with which you are girded; breathe nothing but in and from its spirit; see nothing but with its eyes; hear nothing but with its ears. And then, whether you are in the church or out of the church, hearing the praises of God or receiving wrongs from men and the world, all will be edification, and everything will help promote your growth in the life of God.
I will here give you an infallible touchstone that will test all to the truth: retire from the world and all conversation for one month. Neither write, nor read, nor debate anything with yourself; stop all the former workings of your heart and mind, and with all the strength of your heart stand as continually as you can in the following form of prayer to God. Offer it frequently on your knees; but whether sitting, walking, or standing, be always inwardly longing and earnestly praying this one prayer to God: that of his great goodness he would make known to you, and take from your heart every kind and form and degree of pride, whether it be from evil spirits or your own corrupt nature; and that he would awaken in you the deepest depth and truth of that humility which can make you capable of his light and Holy Spirit. Reject every thought but that of waiting and praying in this manner from the bottom of your heart with such truth and earnestness as people in agony pray and be delivered from their torment. In this spirit of prayer, I will venture to affirm that if you had twice as many evil spirits in you as Mary Magdalene had, they would all be cast out of you, and you would be forced with her to weep tears of love at the feet of the holy Jesus.

I totally stopped migraine by taking magnesium citrate every day. It's 2000mg (300mg elemental magnesium). Before I do any physical exertion, I take an extra capsule.
Had no idea you couldn’t dm on here until you said that.
They definitely are debilitating. But if yours are muscle tension based like mine, then give the Vick’s vaporub a try. I put it on the base of my skull where the migraine is and let cold air hit the area. Having a fan blow directly at it helps a lot.
So far it’s working wonders. I hope it can work for you too. I pray you find relief somehow as well.

Keep taking zinc and quercetin until it comes back and eat nutrient dense foods , cut out any refined shit , grain and sugar . But zinc is what made mine come back . Also mine seems to come and go and zinc makes it come back every time . Anecdotal. Side note if this shits a bio weapon mother fuckers need to pay.
Man, liver I can't do. It's like my body won't let me swallow it. I used to make it for my Dad, with bacon & onions. I taste everything I cook, with that one exception 😂
My inflammation markers were very high, my homeopathic dr has been keeping a close watch in them... they came down a bit, but three months ago they creeped up a bit.
I'm curious as what they are now... I'm not allowed into the blood lab without a mask and I'm not appeasing them, so I'm waiting for a independent lab to come up somewhere in my area... or ya know - tyranny to end. Lol
I think it was liverwurst that was my downfall as a kid. Lol.
I def should try other ways and other livers. Maybe chicken livers are milder than beef ones. And who know wtf liverwurst really is anyways.
On a lighter note... if it's just that one jar of peanut butter that smells so bad, perhaps it's time for a new jar? Just kidding! Trying to give you a quick, friendly reason to laugh a little. I hope you crack the code to getting your smell back 100%. Have a good one fren.
Yeah same. Had a fever in Sept 2020 and lost smell. I took the recommended C/D/Zinc supplements and though I haven't been sick since, it took a long time for smell to come back very gradually. Is almost back to normal now, though a few things still do not smell or taste like they used to. Peanut butter is one of these.
I thought I was the only one with peanut butter! My family had covid related taste issues but nobody had nearly the amount of trouble that I had with peanut butter. It is still terrible for me to eat and it's been over a year
A co-worker said that everything has smelled like garbage to him for months, but that vitamin B12 has helped.
Another person I know lost his sense of smell. He took ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, quercetin, zinc, vitamin C, vitamin D, and magnesium. He also said that he would "huff" his wife's conditioner because it's a familiar smell that he likes. His sense of smell came back rather quickly.
Have you tried washing your nose out? Thats the only thing i can think of that might be useful. Get some betadine, use about a teaspoon of betadine and mix with 16 oz water (tall can of beer). Add salt to take the sting away, maybe 2-3 teaspoons. Then use something to squirt the solution into each nostril. Slowly squirt it into each nostril while tilting your face forward slightly until it starts running down the back of your throat and out your mouth. Then stop and sniff in gently to get everything covered. Then repeat with the other nostril. This should help to sterilize your nose and anything in there that might be stopping you from smelling. It shouldnt burn your nose much if at all. if it does you either dont have the right amount of salt or you have too much betadine. Just add some more water or salt.
This is perfectly safe, wont hurt you. just a nose cleanse.
alternatively you can buy a sinus rinse kit which comes salt packets to appropriately balance the pH of the water so it wont sting and a nice bottle to inject the solution into your nose. just add the betadine.
If this does not help then I would consider consulting a neurologist.
its possible that the virus damages the nerves which conduct smell sensations to your brain. fortunately these are capable of regrowing when damaged and so you may regain your sense of smell overtime without doing anything.

This is an interesting post I found on Gab I believe I read somewhere that Ivermectin is suppose to help with that. Black Cumin Seed oil can be used. I bought a bottle and it seemed to help bring back some smell and taste.
Can confirm Ivermectin helped get my sense of smell back to what it was. Had coof a year ago and had a diminished sense of smell ever since. A few days after taking IVM I noticed subtle smells, so it definitely works.
Same for me too, and same time frame. Though, now it’s morphed into everything having a terrible taste and smell. I saw another person say like sewage and I agree. It’s nasty and I am pretty well gagging trying to eat lately. (Which might turn out fine, since I need to lose weight.)

From what I have seen yes there is, while I never had it as bad as your situation I am hoping I can help you out. Try Alpha-Lipoic Acid supplements. You can get them on Amazon or at vitamins stores like gnc. It helps to improve nerve functions in your nervous system which is related to the loss of taste and smell. It also has a ton of other health benefits as well. Worth a try and if anything it’s still good for you :) good luck friend hope it helps!

My daughter lost her sense of taste and smell on Christmas 2020 and is still recovering. She said many of her favorite foods tasted rotten for about 11 months but it seems to be getting better very slowly. It's now been 13 months and still not completely recovered her taste but it is still, very slowly, getting back to normal.

Edit: It's a psychosomatic block. The nerve functions associated with taste and smell are being cognitively blocked off by conscious attention. It's like trying to get a name that's on the tip of your tongue but you just can't seem to find it. It's not that you don't know it, but the brain is blocking it off.
Same here. It's not that you can't taste or smell, just that your brain is blocking it off. If you can just shift your assumptions and reset the brain, weather via meditation, exercise, breathwork or something else, it will bring back your smell and taste. But it might go away again if your underlying assumptions are not sorted.
Have you tried insane horse radish? Beaver brand Horse radish clears my sinuses, nostrils, and ears every time I eat it. Try to see if that kick the taste back in the buds.
I got mine back first, even though I damn near died from the Coof.
I still have bad neuropathy in hands, feet and other nerves / brain fog.
But I got my smell and taste back from olfactory training with various smells you can buy anywhere. I also chewed ginger, smelled Vick's daily, and tried to eat spicy foods.

My mother suffered from a loss of smell for decades (obviously non-COVID related). She was finally able to recover it through a regimen of B vitamins. You could try a B6 and/or B12 to start and see if you make some progress. Sorry to read of your situation. Good luck.
The last time I had the complete loss of taste/smell was back in 2000 something (can't remember) but I remember that I couldn't even taste Diet Coke and most of the food. The only thing I could taste was Mountain Dew so I drank that for about 3 months. I hate the taste but at least it was better than tasting NOTHING at all. I was young and naive so I didn't think to just drink water instead.
Anyways, out of the blue, I finally got my sense of taste and smell and I don't know how or from what but it just came back.
The reason why I mentioned Benadryl is because that's what I've been taking for my allergies and for some time now, I wasn't able to smell anything. I can still taste but it doesn't give me the sense that I'm tasting it in full, just "partial". So I started taking Benadryl and finally I'm able to smell and taste stuff than before.
Yesterday I went into the store and looked around, and wow, it was a flux of smells from everywhere -- laundry detergent, rotisserie chicken in the oven at the deli area, cheese and many more, to the point where it was almost giving me an headache.
So I don't know if that will work for you, but if you do decide to start taking Benadryl, keep on it for at least 2 weeks because that's how long it took for me to finally regain my sense of smell fully.
Keep in mind, I don't know if I had the 'Rona. Never got the PCR test for it and don't even know if I was around people who have/had it. I'm feeling fine but it was just that I wanted to take Benadryl due to me forgetting to take Benadryl around the fall time as I usually have allergies so I thought to go ahead and start now. I also knew it was an inhibitor of Covid so...
I take the store brand version of Benadryl because if you buy Bendaryl (the name on the box), it only gives you like 10-20 pills, but the store brand one have like 100-200 in a bottle and is cheaper than the Benadryl boxed version.

Panadol helps?
Panadol is 500mg acetaminophen.

Paracetamol is just another name for acetaminophen. It is the same drug. https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/acetaminophen
Interesting, I need to check this. I thought it had only paracetamol and too much of it can affect your liver.
How many mg of each, etc.
Thanks. Gonna tell the wife to pick up some panadol to try. I have everything else on hand.
Thanks. We'll give it a go!

Im laughing - I tried those Vicks shower melts, oh my God - My Eyes! It was like being in a fog of of bear spray
Maybe I like my shower too hot - but I'll never try that again 😂😂
😆 I couldn’t smell them 😂- I used 4 of them- not at once though
Could try rubbing essential oils on instead. I can’t remember what Vicks has, but I believe it includes eucalyptus and peppermint.
I like Vicks.... but the shower thing was so strong... I couldn't open my eyes- it was in the steam. Lol
If my wife is putting essentials on me she usually puts a bit much and my eyes sting for the next 5 minutes - probably nothing like the shower mist though lol
Lol. It def was a surprise :)
Interesting... and worth trying if you’re afflicted with the loss of smell. Takes seconds, costs nothing.
Thanks for sharing.
Could’ve been rhinitis or the flu. Been known for a long time that certain strains of influenza can rob you of your taste and smell too:

This reminds me of the 2 hour window within a mushroom or LSD trip where everything is sharper, has more depth, and more vibrancy. Heightened visual acuity.
Really wish I could retain those enhancements into sober reality.
You might be onto something... Mushrooms are incredible. Minus the stomach ache.
There is nothing in them to physically upset your stomach. Next time recognize it as just internal tension and relax, it goes away. It's unrecpnciled contradictions, unresolved trauma and shit.
My experiences were them were wonderful tho. Changed my whole perspective of life. I'll never forget it.
Sure same. Im just saying, stomach pain isn't from the chemical ingredients in the mushrooms themselves, it's psychic.
I believe you are right. I ate a lot of shitty food back then. Was on a trip with the boys and fastfood was our diet. That and maybe some anxiety about good trip versus bad trip did me in.
I'd do the same, plus: praying!!!
Have you heard of Praying Medic? With a little Faith in God, it's simple! The KEY is authority! Lot of patriots heal themselves and others lately, it's AMAZING what is going on, have a look at all the testimonies on Telegram:
https://prayingmedic.com/blog/
https://t.me/praying_medic
I've been trying this with my migraines. It hasn't worked, but I did discover that that new roll on vaporub Vick's came out with helps a lot.
I feel weird being authoritative while praying. Who am I to boss God around?
Sometimes I can get distracted from the migraine pain, but for the most part it's impossible not to notice. Wish I had the kind of mental strength needed to ignore them.
So agree ty I try as well suffered 25 yrs now badly …my son would say like when I say breathe mom now you’re thinking about breathing but mind techniques help I do try them before it’s level 7-8 then I have to medicate it’s beyond severe get them daily but ty fren more information and reading on here is so well appreciated when I can screen time like u say ..also been stupid sick now 5 days my horse arrives soon cant wait (:
I felt that way too, but being commanding tho is commanding the sickness away,
By commanding something in Jesus' name and by declaring your place as Gods child is how I do it; and being grateful & thankful
Ahh, I like that outlook. Sounds a lot less like you're trying to boss God around and more like you're utilizing his help. Thanks for the change in perspective. I'll try again.
You're not bossing God around.
You're following his instructions, for starters.
Secondly, you pray for what you want and qualify it with "if it's your will."

I totally stopped migraine by taking magnesium citrate every day. It's 2000mg (300mg elemental magnesium). Before I do any physical exertion, I take an extra capsule.
Wow. I’ll give that a try. Thank you!
Long time sever sufferer here wish we could dm don’t wanna fill board up ot Good luck I pray you find relief they’re beyond debilitating
Thank you for the links. I’ll check it out.
Perfect timing for me.., I was just banished by primary care Dr. (I can't see him if I'm not masked).
Getting my migraine script refilled was the only reason I went. It's in Gods hands now. :).
No, wrong guy. Praying Medic.
Working on cars with a lack of smell can become surprisingly difficult, especially when it comes to smelling mystery leaks.
I can imagine. It is definitely a challenge for me right now as well.
I always can smell like a bloodhound when Im hungry. Perhaps a 48hr fast is in order
Haha!
We used an essential oil and got our sense of smell back within weeks, and I'd have to say that mine is better than it was before.
On a side note, my dad (80) lost his smell about 15 years ago. He's an avid coffee drinker. The other day he told me that he'd been using an oil that i had told him restores nerve function 2 or 3 times daily for a couple months, and that he smelled the coffee brewing that morning for the first time.
If you'd like the protocol that we used, let me know.
You should be eating the healthiest foods and drinking the nastiest tea. I'd look at it as a blessing lol
You can't taste or smell, you can eat liver and onions every day
Bitter almonds.
Kratom.
Dried superfood supplements.
Hmm… trying to think of something particularly good for you and hard to palette.
Man, liver I can't do. It's like my body won't let me swallow it. I used to make it for my Dad, with bacon & onions. I taste everything I cook, with that one exception 😂
Lol
Fresh, from the highest quality animal. That's the key.
Easiest is to fish a fish, open it and eat the liver straight down raw right away. Tastes like nothing really. And you will feel like a million bucks.
I had the virus in March 2020. Lost my sense of smell for about a year but it eventually came back. Weird but it did return.
I got mine at the same time. Most everything is back except peanut butter- has such a burnt/rotten smell and taste
On a lighter note... if it's just that one jar of peanut butter that smells so bad, perhaps it's time for a new jar? Just kidding! Trying to give you a quick, friendly reason to laugh a little. I hope you crack the code to getting your smell back 100%. Have a good one fren.
It’s been multiple jars lol And bacon used to smell like my dog’s farts (or visa versa). That is over, thankfully ;)
My wife loves peanut butter, but says it's one of those things that smells horrible now. Especially candy like reeses.
I thought I was the only one with peanut butter! My family had covid related taste issues but nobody had nearly the amount of trouble that I had with peanut butter. It is still terrible for me to eat and it's been over a year
Are you allergic to tree nuts? I am (was never allergic to peanuts) - just seeing if that’s a commonality too?
Nope, no food allergies
It was before we knew what was going on so I didn't do anything!
Looks like you've got Long Haul Covid-19 Syndrome (LHCS)
This info from the FLCCC Alliance on what protocols to take should help:
https://covid19criticalcare.com/covid-19-protocols/i-recover-protocol/

Let me know if it helps!
If this does not help then I would consider consulting a neurologist.
its possible that the virus damages the nerves which conduct smell sensations to your brain. fortunately these are capable of regrowing when damaged and so you may regain your sense of smell overtime without doing anything.
It needs to be distilled water
Not if you are adding betadine
https://paincarelabs.com/health-wellness/the-ins-and-outs-of-nasal-irrigation/
They say otherwise, but if you want to run tap water through your nasal passage thats on you.
This says betadine is effective against protozoa including naegleria fowleri.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC105790/
but yes, if you would like to be extra cautious, you can use distilled water.
https://gab.com/BeachMilk/posts/107194962907316492 This is an interesting post I found on Gab I believe I read somewhere that Ivermectin is suppose to help with that.
Interested to hear suggestions.
My fiance said everything tasted like some sort of detergent.

On the positive side you should be able to conquer The Blazin' Challenge at Buffalo Wild Wings.
I read that also, that it’s neurological. I will order some. Thanks for the reminder!
Glad to help my friend!
Came here to say this, ALA is the only thing that got it back for me and rather quickly. Give it a shot OP
=)
I’m having the same issue and also got Covid around the same time as you. Hopefully someone has some suggestions!

First here's the scientific study info - https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19235739/
Sense of taste & smell recovery - Olfactory Training
You will take one of each of these oils listed below, ONE AT A TIME, and put a few drops on a cotton ball or cotton pad and inhale deeply through your nose 10 times. Do this twice a day for 12 weeks per the pubmed article. While doing so, tell your brain what it smells like (or should smell like.) Lemon: bright, fresh, tart, sour, refreshing, etc Clove: fragrant, rich, round, fall, pie, etc Eucalyptus: menthol, fresh, herbaceous, spa, etc Rose: Valentine’s, flowers, love, comforting, intoxicating, etc In addition - order a copper tongue scraper to help renew your taste buds and kill bacteria 🙌🏻

Try going to the GreatAwakening Search site here
I did a search for Smell AND Taste and got quite a few hits like this
Search will return hits in comments too so make sure you look through comments.
Thank you for this!! Have never been able to search GA before!
I can’t search within GA, but if I search in all wins I’ll get GA search results.
Smoke a bong, eat ice cream.
You'll taste something.
Dude honestly,
Have you tried insane horse radish? Beaver brand Horse radish clears my sinuses, nostrils, and ears every time I eat it. Try to see if that kick the taste back in the buds.
I got mine back first, even though I damn near died from the Coof. I still have bad neuropathy in hands, feet and other nerves / brain fog. But I got my smell and taste back from olfactory training with various smells you can buy anywhere. I also chewed ginger, smelled Vick's daily, and tried to eat spicy foods.
To all the wonderful anons here with great info! Thank you for all you do❤️
I lost my smell and taste years ago with a head injury.
I think I prefer it this way.
Literally changed all 4 kids diapers no problem. Don’t have to eat sugar
It’s a blessing in disguise
😂😂
From my understanding, this is due to a Zinc deficiency.
When I had the virus, I took the Dr Zelenko protocol, which has a lot of zinc in it.

Also, I'd check out some of the videos Dr. Berg has on this subject. It's very informative.

I've heard about certain stem cell treatments being effective but I would never personally condone or use them under any circumstances
Funny how doctors will experiment with dead baby parts but refuse to prescribe Ivermectin or HCQ
Had it last Feb. some sense of smell is returning. Taste is kinda so-so. Gotta pile on the spices and hot sauce to taste anything.

I have no idea if this works but it made headlines: https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/burnt-orange-remedy/
Might as well try it?
NAC you can still get it from LifeExtention.com
Didn't get mine back till I started taking it.
Zinc
My mother suffered from a loss of smell for decades (obviously non-COVID related). She was finally able to recover it through a regimen of B vitamins. You could try a B6 and/or B12 to start and see if you make some progress. Sorry to read of your situation. Good luck.
Try taking Benadryl.
Black beans & Sriracha. Got new undies to!! My cat ships free. That little baahstad tweeks some room clearing high-fivers
I have read some steroid nasals sprays could work. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33429174/
Going on a year and change, good luck pede.
