I'm referring to a past thread where it took several days to get to the idea of bowel obstruction, because as a nurse pointed out, that should have been in the first three things considered for his symptoms.

Ivermectin works on everything.
Not necessarily by itself -- I'd take it with whatever else I needed -- but dang -- that stuff is close to a panacea.
Well the thing with a small bowel obstruction is that is a mechanical issue. A loop of bowel has twisted around on itself usually. Ivermectin isn't going to fix that. Giving the bowel a break from working by sucking your gastric juices out hopefully let’s it turn around on its own.
But I do agree ivermectin is miraculous for many diseases.
For an SBO? Bro needs an NG tube down his throat sucking out the blockage from behind, sounds like that's what he's getting.

So did I, but was mercifully on a dilaudid drip. Don't remember much from that week, but was in no pain.

It was a cat joke. The human being presents himself as a cat. When a dog is preparing to die, it will stop eating. Once it stops eating, a dog will live five days or so before dying.

We store a lot of extra energy because we're nomadic, migratory hunter-gatherers. Sometimes you go a long time between meals in such a life style, so evolution selects for those of us who can pack on a big reserve.
It's also why we have diabetes. We're designed to accumulate the reserve, but also designed to periodically empty it. Modern people just don't empty it and that causes disease.

I was in a similar situation yesterday. Stomach pain, throwing up from my toes --> bowel obstruction. Go to the ER and I am suddenly surrounded by fledgling surgeons looking for practice and moolah. Said nose tube, surgery - I said nooooooo, I want to wait this out. Gave me morphine and Zophran, always entertaining. IV saline worked its magic. Nature took its course; they looked disappointed. (This all was within a 24 hour period.) Five days is a different thing, of course. Wishing Catturd all the best!
Thank goodness you're better. I need to go get checked out. Haven't really number two'd in 3 weeks! No real discomfort. Interesting.
A gastroenterologist visit is in order. That said, read up, make your own decisions, careful who you trust.
I had a great conversation with a nurse while there. She said she doesn't trust any of her brethren and is shocked by the lack of critical thinking/the low bar in medical care these days. Insurance companies call the shots and are our doctors now.

Uhh. Not true. You are given fluids intravenously in a hospital.
It's just not satisfying in the way that drinking it is.

Will he be required to be vaxxed in order to have the surgery done? Two of my "friends" were told to take the shot before the surgeon can do an operation on them and they willfully took the shots without questioning it. Plus there's a couple of people on here saying that they or their loved ones have to take the vax in order to have the surgery...
