Had an openly "black owned and operated " restaurant open in our town. Needless to say it no longer exists. This is just beyond bonkers for an ad though, nothing shocks me anymore.

Bc that was their marketing strategy, being black owned and operated. I dont care what color you are that should have nothing to do with your restaurant. If it is a Cajun creole, soul food, Jamaican, that gives you the idea that mama is in the kitchen making the food, but to just open a store based on color is racist. I love all people, I am in the restaurant business 20 years, I dont wish anyone to fail, I went to check it out. They had a great menu and location, no one came though. Maybe 6 tables on a Saturday night. It was bad marketing strategy.

That place is in the hood. Most of their customers already think the same way.
My assumption is this is in Detroit and therefore not an interesting post. I do not expect much sanity from people living in active warzones.
If you look the business up, you see that it's in a neighborhood but some houses are missing. Those have all been burned down. Luckily Detroit actually cleaned up some of the blight. The burned rubble is removed but the empty lots remain.
Ive done a ton of HUD work down there revitalizing neighborhoods. HUD comes in and bulldozes decrepit neighborhood blocks, then I build affordable single family housing. The customers are most often black, with poor credit, and unable to get a loan. So HUD has them takes classes, rehabilitates their credit, have them work within a program with close oversight and moves them in. Its a pretty successful program and the people have been very nice. After we completed one neighborhood, the people had a big BBQ thanking us.
Of course the customers are not of the gangbanging variety. It is working class poor and mostly two parent families or older couples with a few single mothers.
Pulte Homes, the third largest home builder in the nation, has almost completely razed the Brightmoor neighborhood in NW Detroit, and done the same type of thing.
People whose vision of Detroit is that it is a warzone have never been here. Since Duggan has become Mayor and while James Craig was Chief of Police (great chief will never vote for him as governor) Detroits neighborhoods have made great strides. Of course like all major American cities it has its problems with violence and crime and urban blight is a bigger problem than most cities but Id have to say it is safer than Chicago, St Louis, Washington D.C. or Baltimore. That 70s tag of Murder Capital has long since gone.
In case you didnt know, in 1960 there were 2.3 million people within the city limits of Detroit and it was the nations fourth largest city behind NYC, LA and Chicago and right now there are about 700k (the suburban area surrounding Detroit still has about 4+ million) This is mostly due to the 70s stagflation and 80s and 90s siphoning off high paying auto jobs and the factories to Mexico and Canada. With that type of depopulation blight is going to be a huge problem. The City still has the area to maintain but not the tax base to pay for it.
One more thing -- as the nation burned last summer you didnt hear about any of that nonsense in Detroit.

This is giving me a migraine trying to figure out what the hell it means. Is it a restaurant? Who are they talking to? Is this a menu? And what does any of it mean about walking past a place of business? And who are the enemies? I don't understand a lick of it.
They are saying that only black people are so ____ that they will intentionally avoid a black business and instead go to a white business. They are suggesting that the whites are the 'natural enemy' of the blacks. They are suggesting that blacks are inherently race traitors. Presumably, blacks are supposed to read this at some point and feel so guilty that they attend this restaurant, rather than be the race traitors that this restaurant explains to them that they naturally are. In a sense, they are trying to use guilt to strip their fellow blacks of their cultural heritage, and then cop those ends.
This is what manufactured racism looks like.

My wife and I went to a Kentucky Fried Chicken in Dillon, SC years ago. We were the only white people in the whole building. No problems at all.
A few years later, we went into a barbecue restaurant in NC. I believe it was a white-owned business, but every single person working there was black. We had a good meal there. Garner's Barbecue, Rocky Mount, NC, in case you're in the area and want to try it.

Currituck BBQ in Elizabeth City has barbecue sandwiches on sale at two for $4 on Tuesdays. They also have a sale on plates on Thursdays.
Shaw's Barbecue in Williamston is another good restaurant. They have a good variety of sides similar to Garner's in Rocky Mount.
Smithfield's Chicken and Barbecue is good at all locations, Havelock, New Bern, Kinston, Goldsboro, Nashville, and Raleigh. They can't build in other parts of the state because they lost a lawsuit by Smithfield's of Virginia.
