If you knew what events would unfold, then you could change the action, which intern would change course. Thus timelines can be altered. However, this creates a time paradox where any future events could potentially snowball into causing more catastrophic changes. Maybe small or slow at first but 50 to 100 years from now could be massive in respect. John is correct in his explanation about time in that if the white hats had the ability to peer into the future, using Looking Glass technology, then they would need to find the course that would produce best results, and unfortunately, if there are casualties along the way, they cannot do anything about it because it can cause a ripple that would eventually lead into a tsunami of catastrophic consequences. If the technology does exist to see future events and impending inevitabilities, the hard part would be to know that someone was going to be killed and not saying/doing anything to prevent it. It's painful to think in such Machiavellian terms for a normal person with empathy, and it's terrible to think that our side could sacrifice a person like a chess piece. But if there was an inevitability, and if it opens people's eyes to the villainy of the Cabal... It's quite a quandary. Reminds me a bit of the scenario in the book "Ender's Game" (the book, not the dumb movie that ruined the entire point of the book). There are some theories that some significant events can't be meaningfully altered when you "select" a timeline by "observing" it and "collapsing" other possibilities. There may be some ways to change major events but then you risk changing to a timeline with an undesirable outcome. This is if course if we lean toward a theory that the Q team has used some sort of "looking glass" type technology.
Thank for that. I should pick up my copy & read that again. Started it once, and got busy with another project. I always meant to finish it. I never saw the movie because so many friends had a similar reaction. Wheel of Time obliterated Perrin's mindset within a few minutes of the first episode. I get that television is harder to look inside the thoughts of a person, and the books did it frequently, but the series while entertaining just lacks the essential character depth & growth.
If they could see specific details with Looking Glass, that would be a horrible secret to have to keep. The biggest challenge I always had with clock proofs (and pretty much why I stopped doing them) is the # of connections they open become a flood and everything becomes significant. e.g. if you look filter to the 14 minute marker on the clock, you can easily come up with a half dozen theories as to the meaning. And if you start going further like opening up the 44 minute marker, you can just open up connections forever.

I hate that THE SHOT HEARD AROUND THE WORLD was Charlie Kirk. That young man was doing such good things. I understand it happened to wake people but my heart grieves for his family, friends, coworkers and the world. Such a sad awakening! I was sitting last night after I heard just wondering how we all fell asleep and woke up in this messed up world. I pray this wakes people quickly. I pray for our world, I pray for all of you!
