I’ve see a few people who believe meat is the most healthy food to eat. For example the carnivore diet which even goes the complete opposite of what we think about veggies. One thing is for certain, we certainly didn’t eat processed wheat until the industrial revolution, thus, our bodies aren’t used to eating it.
I want real data on the health aspects of meat and fats. Do they really cause high cholesterol? What clogs arteries?
Edit; Any recommended books?
Tons of sweets, got it
Yeah, inverting the pyramid is not really a good choice of words. Dumping it in the garbage is better.
Get 70% of calories from fat, 30% from protein. Never diet or be hungry or fat ever again. Carbs are non-essential and harmful.
Started carnivore around October. Completely made me look at food differently. And exactly like you said, carbs are non essential. I've never felt mentally or physically better in my life.
Lost 55 lbs from 235 to 185 and just weighed today and was still 185 AND blood pressure was lower also...
AND I AT EGGS/BACON/MEATS/VEGGIES/NO PROCESSED CRAP!!!
Fantastic job fren!! I was stuck at 200 for the longest time. 2 weeks after diet ive been at 185 too (my ideal weight for my height) and haven't stayed squarely at 185 too. Keep it up!!
I would do carnivore but i don't want to lose weight. From what I understand carbs are essential to gain muscle?
How was the first week on it? Did you get carb withdrawal?
One gets used to it...I filled up on NATURAL PROTEIN...eggs, bacon AND NO BUTTER/TOAST/COFFEE w/SUGAR/WHEAT FREE STUFF...AND TONS OF SALADS...AND OF COURSE--->WORKING OUT!!!
Keeping the pie-hole full requires MORE SELF-DISCIPLINE than they realize but it was worth. When I give platelets and/or plasma my RESTING HR = 118-120/67-77 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅😅😅😎😎😎😎😎
Tons of salads = carbs! Not massive amounts but a little bit of carbs. I might start out with sweet potatoes to ease myself into it Congrats on your health!
Correct. There are essential fatty acids (fats) and essential amino acids (proteins). There is no such thing as essential carbohydrates.
Fiber?
Interesting question. I had been taking 5 FiberCon tablets a day for fiber. Then I went keto. They stopped working. After a couple of weeks' adjustment period (known colloquially as the "keto flu") where I wondered when I'd poop again, suddenly everything leveled out and took care of itself. As if the body realized this is how I should have been eating all along. Now I never think about fiber; however since I discovered keto-friendly low-carb bread, I get plenty of fiber that way, as well as from things like celery and nuts.
I don't NEVER eat any carbs; I don't do extremes too well. And I like nuts (you are what you eat! :) But I try to keep under an ounce of carbs (28g) a day, sort of between the 'Atkins 20' and 'Atkins 40' plans.
The last time I went carnivore, I got so constipated that I got sick, disoriented, tripped, fell and broke my ankle.
Fuck that.
Yeah, I could never eat only meat and nothing else.
Sorry you had that experience anon
From what I read that means you needed to eat more fat. Were you getting enough fat?
It was about three years ago. I don't remember.
But if so, lesson learned.
Probably only necessary to bulk and move the other garbage that we dont digest well. I doubt meat has a hard time down there. Most probably just gets absorbed and used
[eat] Fat, Meat, Cheese, Bread, Sugar [limit]
The only thing we ate plants for was already in the dirt. We can get all that ourselves. I consider fruit a dessert item. I don't eat refined sugar.
Sugarcane sugar use to be a rare item until they got people addicted to eating it. Artificial sweeteners are a very no go for me, when and where can avoid.
You know how you test a pool for how much pee is in it?
Test artificial sweetener content.
Says a lot.
ewwwwww
Nutrition and Physical Degeneration: A Comparison of Primitive and Modern Diets and Their Effects by Weston A. Price
Life-changing book. Everything you're asking about is in there. In short: look up your pre-industrialization racial ancestral diets, and eat that.
The most naturally vitamin rich food we could eat? Grass fed ground beef …. The more you know!
I thought liver /organs were more vitamin rich
Yep organs are much more nutrient dense. People have been propagandized to be scared of the most healthy foods but have no fear of the chemical cocktails they eat at every meal. You can take desiccated organ capsules as a supplement if you are scared to eat them.
And not enjoy a delicious plate of liver and onions with mashed potatoes and gravy?!
Calm down there, Mr. Lector.
kek
Plants take in sunlight and make food. Grass is a plant. Corn is a plant. When we eat cows, we're basically eating concentrated plants.
the plants are converted into delicious meat!
Sarcasm? If so, kek. If not, still kek, because that's the most irrational thing i've heard in a while
Intended to be received as a joke, but technically, absolutely true.
Amen
The most sensible path forward is to assume everything you've been told by Big Harma, the AMA, and the govt "public health" industry is a LIE intended to keep you sick and paying them the big bucks.
Eggs - meat - saturated fat - butter - bacon - ham - all good for you
Cereal, orange juice, toast, cornbread, skim milk, waffles, pancakes, grits, muffins, biscuits - not so much
The food pyramid is a lie and a sham - the American Heart Assn has known for over 40 yrs that there is no connection between dietary cholesterol and serum cholesterol - and that if you take drugs to lower cholesterol your liver and every cell of your body makes more cholesterol
Its job is to heal lesions in vascular epithelium caused by sharp spikes on sugar molecules and insulin molecules. When a lesion occurs, a signal is sent to bring cholesterol to the site and plug it. When cholesterol plugs one of these holes, it's being the GOOD guy. But we're trained to see these firemen showing up at the fire and blame them for starting it.
Yeah, that's a good stance, but FDA recommends fruits and veggies, so do you think they are bad? Also do you know of a good book on this subject?
Fruits and veggies are OK in moderation but not ESSENTIAL for health.
There are essential fatty acids and essential amino acids but no essential carbohydrates.
Which books do you like or sources for what youve learned?
Every cell in the body contains cholesterol but only the liver makes cholesterol .
I started carnivore diet around October. I have never felt so good in my life both mentally and physically. For me at least it highlighted how 95% of what we eat isn't even food.
Edit: Hell they even attribute a large portion of the Mongols success to their carnivore heavy diet over their enemy's grain heavy diet.
If you don't mind sharing, tell us specifically what you eat each day, so that we may consider doing it, too.
Hey! Not a problem.
Breakfast:
*3 Eggs *3 (very thick sliced) Bacon, coffee no sugar (there's enough suffering in the world so I kept coffee in the diet kek)
Lunch:
*Approx 0.5- 1.0lb Ribeye
Dinner:
*Approx 0.5- 1.0lb Ribeye
Snack
*Fage 5% full fat yogurt *more bacon *ribeye jerky
Things to consider on this diet, FAT = GOOD and Salt = good. Always get the fattiest meat. If you feel sluggish on this diet eat more fat. Potassium and magnesium the 2 electrolytes you need to ensure you get enough of.
I can't tell you enough how much this diet changed my body/mind for the better. Mental clarity, energy, all amazing anxiety went away, muscle stiffness went away. Eliminated so many bathroom trips too haha. For my brother it SIGNIFICANTLY helped his depression. It's the most "alive" I've seen my brother in years. On this diet I could skip meals and not be hungry to. You always feel satiated. You look at food more as fuel than an experience or treat. It's very simple too Considering you won't need sides, spices, complicated dinners. So while meat is expensive, keep in mind your really not buying anything else either lol.
Edit: AND OMG YOU DO NOT REALIZE HOW BLOATED/INFLAMED YOU'RE BODY IS 24/7 UNTIL YOU TRY THIS OUT! + after this diet you will completely understand why the elite want meat gone.... It's what your body has evolved to eat the last 200k years
Hey and if you try it, try to stick with it for at least 2-3 weeks. If you have any questions please feel free to message me and if you do try it out would love to hear your experience.
Thanks! Will do.
Do you only get grass fed meat?
90% of the time. Otherwise that 10% is when they (local farmers store I goto) are out, or if I'm in a financially tight spot. If you can't afford it, it's okay not to eat grass fed but if you can, get the grass fed since part of the diet is about eliminating all the preservatives and all the other crap in our food.
So switching to just eating meat/fats for 3 weeks is a good test? I thought that puts a person into ketosis and that makes people feel like shit? That’s just what I’ve heard I haven’t done much research on it.
Can’t eat any carbs? Not Even sweet potatoes?
What do you take to get extra potassium and magnesium?
I do not eat meat every day but, if I go a few days without meat, I crave it and when I do sit down for a good steak dinner, I am energized from it, not sapped. I cant afford beef and fish daily, is the only reason I do not. I do not like bird and pig much. Love beef and fish. heh.
Discover what your great grandparents ate. Then do that. If it comes in a package or has a coupon, avoid it. Then exercise. If your meal doesn't have protein as the main event, then it isn't a meal. Ask the question, "Can my body make blood out of this?"
Eat your pudding, you can't have any meat. ___ Roger Bathe-Waters.
Another brick in the wall.
I mean, sure, if all you eat is corn and grain raised meats, processed and deep fried foods cooked with canola oil, processed wheat and gluten, sugar and salt without iodine, you will not feel so good in your later years. Grass fed beef, butter from grass fed beef, in proportion with whole grains and vegetables, it is a different food altogether. Grass fed beef is full of omega 3 fats, essential for good health and good arteries. Modern "convenience" food is just cheap fodder to get the most out of your working years and lets you die off young, after you have addicted your children to empty calories. Its like letting the slaves suck on sugar cane in the fields instead of feeding them. We took the sun and grass away from grazing animals, shoved corn into them, raised them in feeding lots where they are up to their knees in manure, loaded them with drugs, and wonder why people who eat that turn up ill.
I want to get only grass fed beef but buying just small lots of it, like a few steaks or hamburger packages is expensive. I want a whole grass fed cow, or even a quarter, but that's still way too much meat since I don't have a big freezer and live in an apt.
I buy a lot from Butcher Box, they only sell grass fed beef, and a box a month, a small box, is 150 bucks, frree delivery. Do you live in USA? Because they ship all over the country You can get the all beef box, and even choose a custom box.
Yeah I do. I checked their site that’s pretty expensive even if I choose 10 pounds ground beef and 20 oz NY strip steaks at 169 $ a box. That’s 15 dollars a pound!
I remember getting grass fed hamburger on sale at sprouts for around 5 dollars a pound.
CONSTANTLY. Basically you can safely do the opposite as others have said.
Seed oils "heart healty" HELL NO. Eat saturated fats like tallow or coconut oil.
Plant based diet. HELL NO. Eat animals including organs, dairy products, etc.
Almond and other milk substitutes. NO WHAT THE FUCK ALMONDS DON'T MAKE MILK! babies STARVE if given this shit, why would it nourish YOU!
Most medications? NO. It's diet, exercise.
The sun is bad? NO... YOU NEED VITAMIN D and the skin buns worst if you eat seed oils.
Cholesterol bad? IT'S BULLSHIT YOU NEED CHOLESTEROL TO MAKE VIT D!
Margine over butter? FUCK THAT BUTTER UP YOUR TOAST GUYS!
Almost all of it is bullshit. Read the bood "big fat surprise".
What are you thoughts on avocado oil?
I eat it daily, very stable at high heats.
Correct: They have been feeding lies about the Sun! The sun does not cause skin cancer!
Sunglasses and sunscreen is the main cause of skin cancer. When the sun is shining and the wave lengths of light hits your eyes it lets your brain know it’s sunny out. Therefore your body will start producing chemicals, which will then facilitate the process of vitamin D production from the sunlight. But when you wear sunglasses, the brain does not think it’s sunny out therefore the body does not produce the needed chemicals and your skin reacts in bad ways.
Most Sunscreen has toxic cancer causing chemicals being absorbed into your skin. We can use non toxic sunscreen like zinc, but ditch the sunglasses unless driving. You eyes will take a few weeks to adjust without sunglasses and you won’t be squinting as much - and much better off.
Would God have created something to harm us? We know skin cancer is man made. Wake up....
Read "The Vegetarian Myth" it goes into the whole scam. Agriculture has destroyed the whole planet and has destroyed the health of humanity. Plant foods are loaded with toxins as a defense mechanism. They can't run away from predators like animals so they load themselves up with poison.
Good thing I never eat much veggies then!
Real data about food cannot exist. It is unethical and impossible to do real experiments.
The data that does exist is useless. Anyone drawing "scientific" conclusions from it are lying.
You cannot know what people are putting in your food, and even if you did know, you cannot control it.
Your best bet is to grab a hoe and a spade and a patch of ground and raise your own meats and grow your own veggies.
I don’t have links to specific studies. Go on YouTube (yeah I know...) look up the following Doctors. There are videos of them talking about specific studies. From that information, you should be able to research on your own. Dr. Chaffee, Neurosurgeon Dr. Baker, Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Ovadia, Heart surgeon Dr. Wiedeman, Optometric physician Dr. Berry, Family physician
With Carnivore, just remember everyone is different. The goal is to heal a body that’s been eating trash for years. It’s not a quick fix and there can be tweaks and difficulties to overcome.
Thank you. I wish there was a really good book on this subject.
What causes clogged arteries and high blood pressure then? I struggle with both and I've lived pretty clean.
When in nursing school they teach if someone is on a statin drug make sure they don’t eat grapefruit. Why is that? Since we don’t allow nurses to critically think anymore, let me explain. A half a grapefruit daily is the same as taking a statin drug. Research grapefruit and high blood pressure. Also cayenne pepper helps clogged arteries. Research cayenne pepper and impacts on blood circulation. As much as I don’t like buying from Amazon you can purchase cayenne pepper oil from Amazon.
Remember God has given us everything on this earth to heal us. Our medical community doesn’t want natural healing. They don’t make a dime.
I will definitely look into this
Thank you
Rockefeller medicine has lied about food and what we should eat for decades. What they recommend only decreases health. We are sicker today due to the food we eat, the jabs we take, the toxic environment, etc.
I can just hear Red now.
They’re actively working against the natural order. Humans are designed to be social, active, out in the sun, and eating a diet rich of protein and fats. You actually need these things to be healthy. They want the opposite of this.
Seed oil clogs your arteries and it'd in every processed food out there. I've been working on getting away from seed oil it's just not as easy
enter text They have lied to us for our whole lives. About everything!
Love Dr. Berg!
They introduced, Margarine vr Butter. My family ate margarine for the longest, I wont touch it now, haven't for years, I cook and eat with Unsalted Butter.
Remember when eggs and butter were demonized?
I stopped listening to the FDA when they said GMO/Roundup was ok to eat.
I don't have any data to provide, though I wouldn't trust most food data out there anyway. What I do have is my own experience. I was overweight and super unhealthy at a young age (30-35) and couldn't stick to a diet to save my life. Until Keto.
I quickly lost about 60lbs in around 6 months and never felt healthier in my life. Several people here have mentioned how carbohydrates aren't necessary and I couldn't agree more.
Sadly, I've been eating my old SAD diet again (personal issues, stress) and I for sure feel the difference. When I was on Keto I felt like my body was telling me "This is what I've been waiting my whole life for you to do!" No hunger, no blood sugar issues, no weight gain, mental clarity, less headaches, my cycle normalized (previously, I hadn't had a normal 28 day cycle since I was about 16), and on and on... I can't speak to the benefits of the carnivore diet, as I haven't tried it. But Keto was awesome. Though a downside is it's slightly difficult to adhere to due to the fact that you either have to sit down in a restaurant, or cook at home. Fast food options exist but they definitely don't taste as good. So it can be time consuming, but worth it in the end.
I ate a lot of meats, fats, and salt and was never healthier. I am convinced the processed grains, sugars and oils are what's damaging our health. Along with the fat-free, sugar-free craze of the 90's. I was always told eggs are full of cholesterol and bad for you. Butter is bad for you. Red meat is bad for you.
All wrong. it's when you combine those things with an excess of grains and sugars that they cause problems. I remember wanting to be vegan when I was younger (though I never could adhere to it, I'm a carnivore through and through) because I love animals (oxymoron, I know). But I now realize we need animal protein in our diet. There is no plant based alternative no matter how much vegans espouse the praises of pea-protein.
I also realized the truth about the food chain. Almost every species kills for food. Why are we any different? A lion will hunt to feed its young. Why are we enforcing a vegan diet on our children who require animal proteins to build their growing bodies?
It is completely backward.
Do not touch the "impossible meat". It never sat right with me from day 1 and then this board confirmed my thoughts. They are trying so hard to push an unnatural way of living onto the plebs for their own benefit. I can assure you if we ever were to become a dystopian society forced to eat Soylent green, every rich Dem in power would have access to their own organic farms full of cows, chickens, pigs, etc. with eggs and butter galore.
Personal anecdotes.
5 months. Strict carnivore, little to no exercise. Lost 60lbs(8pts-ish off BMI) Lost 12 inches around the waist. Reversed pre diabetes. Reversed high blood pressure. Cholesterol on the slightly high side. Biggest change though is the mental clarity and the ability to focus that comes with this diet. Started lifting weights, muscles just appear like magic. The mental focus allowed me to go 120% at the workouts where i would give up easily before.
So you're gaining muscle mass without carbs? Are you in complete ketosis then? I heard that feels awful. True?
Yes, due to high protein consumption, gaining muscle mass is really easy as long as you work them hard enough.
Didnt feel much difference being in ketosis. Just that i dont get strong hunger pangs anymore.

"Keeping a Family Cow" by Joann Grohman really opened my eyes about raw milk and nutrition in general.
"Nourishing Traditions" by Sally Fallon is another one.
You'd probably enjoy the Weston Price Foundation website too. https://www.westonaprice.org/#gsc.tab=0
Read Gary Taubes, Why We Get Fat
edit: corrected the title of the book
Everything is the opposite of what they have told us. Food is medicine, but not the crap the FDA has allowed on our shelves. Most of the food on our shelves is banned in 32 countries. Stop eating processed foods. Soy is in so much of what we eat. Why? Do your research...hint: soy boys The food we are eating is changing our children. My Dad said the day he saw wheat 6ft tall, he knew they were poisoning us. That is not natural. They are feeding us genetically modified everything. When I read a store ingredients label, I put back on the shelf 90% of what I read. If you don’t know what an ingredient is, you shouldn’t buy it. Stick it to them! Corrupt food companies are making us sick and unhealthy to feed Big Pharma Look for local farmers market. This is where our food should come from! And red meat is good well cooked, but know where your meat is coming from as they are looking to vaccinate cows with MRNA vaccines.
Well cooked red meat why? I like medium
Parasites...the cause of many of our diseases. All meat products have them. Pork is the worst as they are bottom feeders. God tried to tell us in the Bible but the Cabal had to sell us pork for breakfast on TV in the 50s. We detox these through fasting or medicine. Modern medicine doesn’t want you to know all this because you might cure your own issues. There used to be a good document on parasites on catbox, but I can’t locate it at the moment. I’ll keep looking for it.
I've seen that document but thank you!
Look into Blue Zones.
Start with "they hate me and want to kill me". Read "Wheat Belly", look critically at the history of the food pyramid and dietary advice. I for one subscribe to the "you are lying bastards, F you and your food advice" diet. No Soy, seed oils, processsed carbs or modern wheat products. Meat, eggs, cheese, veggies, minimal carbs - mid 50's and never fitter.
Not Paleo, go back to the 1930s FTW.
What is that first book you listed?
God created cholesterol because He loves us. Love your liver. Eat good fats today.
Based on your name you're in ketosis all the time? Does it feel bad? I heard it makes you feel awful. is that true?
You need to try keto for at least 3 months so your body become used to being fueled by fats and protein only. Watch out for the keto flu (awful feeling) when starting out. Keto => low insulin => water loss => loss of minerals (sodium, potassium and magnesium) => keto flu. After that (maybe a week) your body adapts. Feels great. No more brain fog.
Remember, keto is the gateway drug to intermittent fasting. Skip breakfast. Breakfast is evil.
When have they told us the truth?
Humans evolved eating what, precisely? Raw fruits. Raw vegetables. Raw and cooked meat. Anything else is going to explore where you are not protected by evolutionary survivor bias.
I wonder if humans ever ate raw veggies back in caveman days.
Full animal fat is the best survival food. 9 calories per gram. There is no food that offeres more calories per gram. Full fat diets are HEART and BRAIN healthy.
There is no statistical relationship between dietary cholesterol which is destroyed during digestion, and arterial cholesterol which your own body manufactures.
Arteries are clogged by cholesterol that YOU synthesize; this process is a result of poor cardiac health. In general, the cure for high cholesterol is more exercise.
Arteries are clogged by a cholesterol- and sugar-derived matrix if you eat carbs.
Eskimos have virtually nonexistent heart disease and atherosclerosis, since they eat massive amounts of fat and cholesterol but basically zero carbs.
cholesterol is what is used to repair damaged arteries from toxic diets. They lie about why its in your arteries
This is correct, almost exactly what I wrote elsewhere in the thread :)
And while eating the plant based diet they recommended, your brain is starving and hormones are all out of whack. We need fat and cholesterol to be healthy!!
Humans are evolving in an interesting way.
Do you know why we have wisdom teeth pulled? Jaw line is receding.
Having healthy teeth isn't necessary for survival, so we may see teeth recede further to an unknown point.
We've seen 'Beyond Meat' and I'll pass.
So, the most nutrient dense food is going to be highly processed.
In fact, you may see these foods packaged in ways that help us keep our teeth healthy and useful.
Oh, we are already here today.
If it weren't for aesthetics, texture and flavor being a meaningful experience to eating - we would all be eating paste or pebble by now.
Humans have been devolving since agriculture was introduced. Look at the sizes of human skeletons over time. They have been shrinking as people ate toxic grains instead of meat and organs.
Are you saying we should be blending everything into smoothies to drink from a straw, like our jaws have been wired shut?
Imagine believing evolution.
No, I'm saying that we can. We just don't.
