The title of the thread is misleading. That image isn't "all anheuser products". Only the top are.

Everything on the bottom of the image have nothing to do with AB, including brands that were sold off by AB to avoid antitrust issues, such as Coors and Miller Lite.

Anything under Molson Coors, Heineken, Diago and Carlsberg Group are not involved with AB in any way.

Not saying they're good companies, just that they don't have anything to do with AB.

Thanks - I had understood that most of those brands were distributed through AB but not necessarily made by them.

For a Canadian beer, I like Moosehead.

For a Scottish beer I like Crabber's Ginger Beer.

Crabbies isn't really a beer, the Jocks never drink it when oot on the lash, but then they drink Buckfast, the choice of every Glaswegian Ned, its very good fighting fluid.

The RCN do drink Moosemilk however, make your leg gyros topple very quickly.

The Moose is Loose!

Alcohol is bad for you anyway. And a money suck. You'd be better off learning how to brew your own or, better yet, quit imbibing altogether. You don't need alcohol to have a good time.

Besides, there's this:

https://www.auricmedia.net/alcohol-said-come-arabic-term-al-khul-means-body-eating-spirit/

And before anyone tries to debunk it, just remember one thing: it's only the usual suspects "fact checking" sites that say they've "debunked" this.

Whether you believe the site I use, or not, you can't deny that everyone does the dumbest, stupidest shit while under the influence of alcohol.

I would say occasionally drinks are ok (even if daily 1 or 2). It’s about not being drunk. God wouldn’t have designed the liver to process alcohol otherwise. Plus, wine was made to make the heart glad, Jesus turned water into wine, etc.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– PhDinNY 1 point 2 years ago +1 / -0

I guess all the wine Jesus and disciples had (and not just for communion) really kept them from the truth. But seriously, if you have even a few beers over an hour or two, the amount of alcohol in your system will not get to a level that has any noticeable effect, and there are many people like me who have ONE beer at a time, meaning, ONE beer on a given day. For me, it's usually a Yuengling Black & Tan.

I concur. I'm not a fan of being drunk. Sometimes, a little relaxed or even slightly tipsy is great. Other times, I don't want that at all. Yet still other times, I want a carbonated beverage with supper that isn't sweet or a soda. And shepherds pie doesn't taste right unless it's cooked with a good stout.

I'm pretty much the same way. I love a couple of beers after working outside all day, or while grilling some steaks. I like feeling good, but not out of control, so even if I'm putting a few down around the firepit, basically I just get a buzz, then slow it down and maintain the buzz.

Beer guy here.

Anything from Hofbräu München is amazing. It's state-run, so no AB/InBev. My personal favorite pilsner is Paulaner, which is currently owned by the Schörghuber family. Both are official breweries for Oktoberfest, hard to go wrong with either.

Even if people drink other AB products, the best thing this controversy has caused is for Bud Light drinkers to expand their horizons. There are plenty of good brews out there. Thinking Bud Light is a great beer is akin to thinking McDonald's makes a great burger.

Tetley's English Ale (and original, if you hate the nitrogen widget) is a fantastic beverage, and I highly recommend it to any pede who's wants to branch out from lagers.

If you like weißbier, Blue Moon is perfectly serviceable and is Miller/Coors. It also doesn't leave a bizarre aftertaste that turned me off of Shock Top years ago. Unfortunately for me, my all time favorite is Franziskaner hefeweizen - an AB/InBev product🙁😒. Word on the beer forums is it's one InBev is looking to sell, and I hope they do.

Finally, if you're on a budget (talking to you Frat Guy's here), skip the Natty and get Pabst Blue Ribbon instead. It's privately owned, most of it is actually manufactured by Miller/Coors, and tastes way better IMO. Old men like it too, so have some with gramps. You'll still pee out your insides the next morning, but it won't feel like your urethral tissue is being run thru a cheese grater.🧀🤣

Stay Thirsty pedes.

Great Lakes Brewing Connosseur here. Dortmunder is a good Lager. Love the Elliott Ness Amber. The Christmas Ale was the best around but last year's tweak, meh. Edmund Fitzgerald is a good porter and their Conway Irish Seasonal is good. As is the Oatmeal stout. I pretty much like them all. Even the Cleveland Browns Dumpster Fire "Buring River" is okay.

Weihenstephaner. Been to the old abby in Freising (Bavaria) several times. Another state run Bavarian brew and my favorite. But as you said, Paulaner and I’ll add its sister company Hacker Pschorr to the list are great beers.

I had a drinking phase when I was sent to the UK at 18 years old for my first USAF assignment. I outgrew it, but did pick up one good lesson - if I'm going to drink it is not going to be cheap swill.

I have 12-14 beers a year, alternating between Guinness and a Cherry Lambic. One each on Saturdays when I watch my one vice I have left - a certain college football team. I gave up watching NFL during the kneeling, and MLB once Cal Ripken and Nolan Ryan retired. Never liked basketball or hockey. I used to have college football season tickets for 10 years, and that was my daddy/daughter bonding time while she was growing up.

I remember one time Chik-Fil-A sponsored a game and put free chicken sandwich coupons on every seat. She was about 11 or 12yo and collected 30-40 coupons from the floor after the game so I could grab lunch at work. I gave them away after eating like 20 - it got old after a few weeks but it was nice of her.

Now I just watch those games from my recliner with one of my beers. I still have one of the lambics in my fridge from last year.

Side note - my daughter and someone whom I expect will be her fiance are coming out to TX this fall to visit and take me to a game, and we are sitting where our tickets used to be. First game in almost 10 years - she is 27 now. Time goes by quickly.

Sorry to hear that! It is tough enough losing someone but then when it happens on a day like Christmas it has to be incredibly tough.

I have a niece that was born on 9/11/01. It is kind of reverse, but in both cases the family ends up being reminded of bad/sad thoughts every year on that day.

Modelo and Corona are not owned by AB inBev in the United States.

Due to US Antitrust law, AB inBev had to give up rights to Modelo and Corona.

Constellation Brands produces Modelo and Corona.

There was even a recent lawsuit because Constellation Brands released Modelo and Corona branded seltzers in the US.

AB inBev said it was a violation of the agreement but it lost the case.
