Lol. I have a friend that everytime we’re on the phone he will insert random sentences that he says will trigger some 3 letter agencies to listen to our calls. Possibly they focus on accounts with icons attached to their names. Mine seems to begin being tracked sometime after a mod decided I deserved a pepe. Had not idea at the time they considered me worth having one, and we had a mod who would take icon requests for a while.
Also it could be other Anons here, though I would assume those anons would want to track discussions vs people. Once I found a few key discussions (I had saved for future reference) were deleted when a user deleted their account, I began saving some discussions & posting a comment in the threads with archive links to be able to recount what was discussed of the OP ends up deleting their account at some point.
I was once told that high profile/upvote anons will delete accounts due to direct threats or simply being done wading through BS tied to the specific account. Unfortunately that also deletes the post histories with a wealth of good knowledge.

Guys, archive.org uses bots to crawls the web. It's not targeting you. It grows by millions of pages per day. I've been using it to retrieve data for client's websites for years.

You overestimate a bit. I haven't seen the GAW infrastructure, but I'd WAG the site size at less than 20 GB including all of the hosted images. Each public facing page will be 3-7 MB and most of that size is either highly compressible text or repeated content (pepe icon? It's the same one everywhere, so you can just merge the references across all the pages on the archive site so that all page pulls use the same little image blob instead of saving it over and over, etc)
A couple hundred or even a thousand page saves on an archive site wouldn't eat that much space.
What would take up a lot of space would be trying to also archive all of the linked video and documents.
Your analysis is spot-on. Text is very very very cheap to store. Images are a whole different story, although as you said, are compressible and modern storage technology can de-dupe repeated content.
I was first going to say "No big deal" as the Archive.org tool is almost entirely automated. However, when I realized this was indexing individual /u/ snapshots for profiles? This shifted quite a bit.
This normally does NOT happen outside of very large Social Media profiles, and certainly not this frequently.
I compared a number of other "mainstream" platforms... individual profiles are normally indexed a few times per year.

Archive has been saving everything they can for over 20 years. That's the place to go when a web page has been revised, and you want to see what it said before.
They also have a ton of old books scanned, and lots of old radio shows, live concerts, podcasts, stag films, magazines, and more.
