That is my understanding - that the clock will not start ticking on his term until this is resolved, even though he is clearly in the thick of things and obviously not just gallivanting around on a big vacation. What I think is coming is that he will be officially recognized, formally handed the presidency he won in the last election, and THEN his next 4 year term begins.
You think Trump would serve that long. I think he might do 4 and then back someone like Ron DeSantis to carry on the MAGA torch. Wendy Rodgers would be another good choice, or Don Jr.

If you look at the revision history for Grenell's page and use control + F to search the word "revert" it's littered with reversions spanning the entire year. This seems to indicate anyone can indeed change Wikipedia at will, including political pages, and rather than preventing these changes entirely only after the change goes live will moderators/editors change it back whenever they notice the issue. If they don't notice it fast enough you get Google pulling incorrect information and displaying it on the search page.

He is simply calling Amb. Ric his Envoy. Ric retains his Ambassador title for life, just like President Carter or Sec of State Rice or General Shalikashvili or any number of other people/positions.
All the rest of the stuff like devolution is up for debate - it may or may not be true. The Ambassador title thing is 100% normal.
As for the Envoy part - another definition of Envoy is either messenger or representative. It doesn't have to come from a President/leader/king.
