If non-golfers don’t believe tape is a thing or that tape is a godsend, try hitting a few buckets at the driving range — the skin from your hands will be destroyed before you realize it.

As far as I can tell, these are all elements of the story that are being passed around as fact despite there being no corroboration or sourcing.
