(credit to u/axrevolutionai for suggesting I make a full post for this)
This is a big one, for multiple reasons.
I am disabled, and live with my mother and stepfather, paying rent from my Social Security disability checks. To their perpetual credit, the house is paid off and they say I'll always have a home here. I am forever grateful for that. Anyway...
My stepfather needed triple (which became quadruple) bypass surgery. He was driven to the hospital early this morning, before sunrise.
However, as my mother was driving him, she turned too soon, and got two tires over the edge of the driveway. They had to call a tow truck, which had to call another to help. And because they couldn't afford it, I had to pay for them, well over $300 worth that I can't afford right now either.
Then it got worse. On the way there, they passed some homeless guy, who got so angry at them for whatever reason that he threw his flashlight at their car, and not only caused serious scratches on the door, but the back panel of a side mirror got completely dislodged, exposing the wiring. Normally Dad would go to a junkyard for a replacement part, but he's currently in the hospital, per above.
I'd share photos, but I don't want to risk self-doxxing.
On top of all this, while the surgery did go very well (thank God), he is currently intubated on a fucking VENTILATOR, for reasons I do not understand. He is expected to be in the hospital for five to seven days. I'll be visiting him once he wakes up.
We don't know what we're going to do. Can GME please fucking go TO THE MOON! already?! That's my only backup plan, and I bought in (over ten shares) because I was desperate and I trust YOU guys! Hell, even if I sold right now, it wouldn't be instantaneous--Computershare would snail-mail me a physical check, and having never done this before, I don't know if the taxes on that income would be deducted for me, or I'd have to make note of this on my 1040 or 1099 later.
Is it possible to duct-tape the back of the mirror in case we have to go somewhere when it rains? We have the car under a carport right now, so there's that. Normally Dad would order and attach the new one, but, well...
Oh, and the car's not insured. Insurance was cancelled a month or two ago because we can't fucking afford anything right now. Because of all of Dad's testing and preparation for this surgery.
Oh, and the warranty on the car has expired because it's about four years old.
God, I'm so frustrated right now. I feel powerless. Please pray for my family's well-being.
Mods, I apologize for the rant. Delete this if you must. But I don't know where else to turn.
(Update: He is OFF the ventilator!)
Our blessed Father, We come today to ask for financial and health needs for our friend BetterNameUnfound. You know Father the misfortunes the family has suffered during a time for a medical emergency. We pray Father for much needed healing for the Step-Father and for their financial needs. We pray for many blessings placed upon them Lord to help them back upon their feet in order to help the Step-Father in his healing. We lay this request at your feet as we rely on you for all things needed. We thank you Father as we ask this in Jesus' holy name. Amen.
I always come back to read your blessingly inspired prayers, my Dear.🙏🏻💐
Me too. They are always so beautiful.
This
Amen. Prayers up for all involved.

Prayers for your family on the way. It all seems overwhelming. Multiple problems but it’s pretty typical that someone would be on a vent after this type of surgery. Standard, really but sometimes they come off of it in 3-4 hrs. However, most are longer and many 48 hrs or more. It depends on a lot of things-like their condition before surgery. Check out this site. You can call with questions. This isn’t like the c19 stuff. This is when vents actually are needed and so try not to be upset. I know it’s easy for me to say. Point is, it’s not crazy he’s still on it.
But you’ve just gone through an enormous amount of stress in a short time and it seems like all around you is this buzz of chaos. Take one thing- forget about the other stuff like the car for the time being. I would focus on praying for your stepdad, praying for yourself, for peace, wisdom and for HIM to help dad and mom, guide and comfort you. We’ve got this- we can pray hard but it’s times like these we learn a lot and especially learn about our faith.

I like Winn’s advice about the car.
I appreciate the comforting words. This eases my heart a little about the ventilator.
Update us when you can.
Holy Father, our Fren u/BetterNameUnfound is in need to feel Your blessing. May You bless him with all the serenity regarding family comfort, material sufficiency and especially the conscience of Your Love.
PS: I read many good things regarding « Gorilla Tape ».
A decent duct tape will hold through several rains especially if you clean off the surfaces before sticking it, but can you be more specific? Is the mirror glass itself damaged, or is the entire mirror + encasing hanging down? If so you could secure it back onto the car with an L bracket and some duct screws. (Or just send the screws through the remainder of the part that attached the mirror encasing in the first place, if it's still there and you get long enough screws)
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-8-x-1-2-in-External-Hex-Flange-Hex-Head-Self-Piercing-Screw-1-lb-Box-320-Piece-116098/205142870
https://www.homedepot.com/b/Building-Materials-Building-Hardware/N-5yc1vZaqzs/Ntk-elasticplus/Ntt-l+bracket
depending on the angles of the mirror encasing you will need to find the appropriate bracket and likely bend it accordingly before attaching. It won't be pretty but it should hold. You can patch the holes made in the car with bondo later.
If the encasing is still attached to the car and just cracked open yeah, just cover that with duct tape and replace as needed. No big deal there. If the mirror glass itself is broken, not much you can do beyond getting a new one. If the mirror glass is detached and won't stay at proper angle, you could wedge something in between the edge of it to hold it in place.
prayers sent for everything else fren 🙏↗️ In Jesus' name.
The mirror glass is undamaged, thank God. The mirror is still perfectly usable for the moment.
But the back panel, the part that faces away from the driver, is completely gone.
I saw that I can get an entirely new mirror for this car model for about 50 bucks, but I don't need a whole new mirror, just the back panel.
Before using duct tape, find the electrical wires / connectors and wrap those with electrical tape. Don’t be sparing with the tape, this will block off any water / short circuit issues.
Next, bung the electrical conduit with some oiled rag, this will stop water making its way into the car body.
You would be surprised how unsealed these mirrors are.
IMPORTANT: to avoid potential civil service parasite “fines” for have a faulty mirror, avoid duct tape. Get a small replacement mirror in an auto parts store (cut a paper template) and use heavy duty carpet tape to stick that into the mirror housing.
Duct tape is like a magnet to cops, who are just itching to give you a ticket. Avoid it if possible, use electrical tape as close to the car colour as possible.
What if you go to a used car graveyard and ask for the missing part from a same model dead car ?
That was my thought. We have many Pick & Pull Auto Centers where I live and many times the people who work there will help with removing the part so it isn't damaged. The prices are greatly reduced from new.
show me a pic of another vehicle and highlight the portion that's gone
I guess I should get specific about the model.
It's a 2020 Nissan Rogue, and here's the pic with the panel circled. The color is different, but the model and year are the same as the pic.
The strip of lights remains.
Ah yeah just duct tape that shit all over. Clean it off real good so there's no loose dirt or dust on it, dry it good, then tape in nice neat strips with each strip overlapping the prior strip (at least 1/4 inch) in parallel until it's all covered. If both the portion above and below the light segment are gone you'll have to do this twice because you want to keep that uncovered as it's your front facing turn signal lights. You could also just cover it all and then slice out the mid section of the tape with a box cutter depending on how much of the encasing is gone. If you must use the light segment as an anchor for the tape, run the tape horizontal across the hole instead of vertical and just let it overlap the light enough to seal the hole.
Gorilla tape is probably the best duct tape for such a thing, though many common brands should hold out fine for several rains. Start at the bottom so that each successive strip of tape falls OVER the one below it because water will run down. (think roof shingles)
just duct tape that shit all over. kek. that really is the way though.
Ebay might be of assistance:
After a quick search I got this for you, although probably not the correct color, if you do some searches you might find something for yours specifically.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/285061445962
Probably incorporate some of BurnNewHistoryBooks comment, specifically bunging off the rest of the car downstream of the mirror.
If you go with duct tape, you might try plastering over it, sanding it, and painting it to match your car color to avoid police attention.
Adds some cost. Probably looking at $20-30. This seems easier and more permanent. https://www.ebay.com/itm/166777157608
It's on the driver side like the photo? I had a 99 Nissan Sentra the I bumped the trash can and the passenger mirror broke and was dangling by wires. I just disconnected the wires and did without it. Our state only requires driver side or the center windshield mirror. If you go with duct tape the make different colors that may match better. Prayers.
I got mine on Ebay for a decent price.
You and I would really get along I think. God bless you talking the time to do this write up.
Godbless you too fren 👊
My Uncle had quadruple bypass surgery about 50 years ago and he is still going strong. I am not sure if your dad is on social security yet, but if he is, then look into the spousal benefit. Up to half what he is getting. But if she is less than full retirement age, they reduce the amount. But it could make a significant difference. If anyone is a veteran, check with a local organization. I bet they would help patch up the car at least.
Yeah my grandfather had one of those 12 years ago. He lived 10 years after and died of something unrelated.
I humbly request all GAW prayer warriors here

Anyone else missing, feel free to join in
Thanks for bringing this to my attention so I can join you in prayer. God bless. Much love. Hope you have a blessed weekend
First of all, I wouldn't touch the GME. If you only own 10 or so, that's going to be roughly $280, and they will not withhold the taxes for you so you'll have to figure a chunk of that will need to be set aside for taxes.
Secondly, as others have said, duct tape the car. It's a bandaid. It's okay to kick that can down the road, it is just a backburner item in relation to your FIL's health and the need for your energy to be directed at him and not the other things being thrown at you right now.
Thirdly, do you have a grocery budget? You might be able to dip into that cash to offset the tow truck cost. There are typically some churches that give away free food weekly. You might reach out to a church and inquire if they know of any such local program.
As someone else mentioned, GoFundMe might be an option, and you can link that here for all of us to help.
Last resort, <strike that, AmateurExpert says don't do it!>, or sell something at a pawn shop? I honestly don't know. You can also get paid to give plasma, but ... ew, Red Cross.
Prayers for you and your family. If I brainstorm any other ideas I will come back and reply again, I'm on my way out the door.
Do NOT get a payday loan. Anybody. Ever.
If you’re online there are websites where you can sign up to do microtasks. Sites like Fiverrr and such. May be able to earn a few quick bucks there.
Payday loans are literally predatory lending, and meant to perpetually trap poor people in forever-debt.
Find another means of earning some side cash.
Magpi said to not sell them. Thine tits be too jacked, good sir.
But yes absolutely on the payday loans. Hyper predatory. Bad, bad mojo.
Edited. Read him as being fud against gme
Thanks for the warning! Those are only things I've heard about but never personally dealt with!
Definitely find out about getting boxes from your local food bank, usually distributed through churches. Some churches have their own pantry give aways. Also look into local charities/help organizations.. we have one that can sometimes offer mechanic help and such.
Prayers sent.
Praying for you fren.

My prayers are with you, and your family. Having been in financial binds and family difficulties in the past, I empathize strongly with you. Please God help this family out, and give them what they need, and comfort them in this trying time. Amen.
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
prayers sent for your dad fern. God has a way of making things work out. you said you can get a replacement mirror for 50 bucks? just take off the back panel and use it it. it is still relatively a cheap fix...........
Can you or someone help you set up a GoFundMe?
I wish that was available 20 years ago for my sake.
Is that possible to do without doxxing myself?
I'm pretty protective of my identity here, due to a certain other close family member who would RUIN me if he knew I was here.
To help you feel a bit more at ease; all open heart surgery patients are intubated with a ventilator. My wife was a Cardio Thoracic ICU nurse for many years.
The bypass surgery is pretty straight forward. My father had one done in his early 60's.
When you have time, please look into the Linus Pauling treatment that u/JohnTitor17 has posted a few times. Here
I've adopted this treatment as my dad had his first heart attack at 46. I'm in my early 50's and I feel MUCH better after cutting back on processed sugars.
Prayers sent during this difficult time.
God Bless
What about taking BTC donations?
You could have a friend whom you trust do it for you, or even put it in mom's name for stepdad.
Consider using GiveSendGo instead of GoFundMe
can you put the GoFundMe in your mom or step dads name? i'm not sure how it works. prayers sent fren.
Dear fren.
May your family's financial situation improve.
I don't know how long we have to wait for GME now. It's so hard to know isn't it. I have some too so I'm already willing the stock price upward every day
Duct-tape is a great idea!
My dad used to say just about everything can be fixed with duct-tape or WD-40.
u/winn is correct, however, I suggest buying Gorilla Tape. It's stronger and more water resistant. The pool construction company I work for here in FL uses it for just about anything, including taping up exposed wiring on the pumps we use to keep the holes dry after they get dug while waiting for the gunite crews to shoot the pool in.
You can also try Flex Seal's tape. That stuff is the most water resistant of the tapes I know of. But it's also the most expensive.
Lowe's, Home Depot, and Walmart sell both brands.
I hope your step-dad gets better. I will pray fo his speedy recovery.
Can confirm the Flex Tape. The front bumper area got pulled off my old Nissan Versa about 10 years ago after a move when U-Haul gave us the wrong car trailer. I used Flex Tape on it and it lasted at least 3 years until I moved again and had to sell the car. It had a few more things wrong with it that would not pass the inspection in my new state and since it had almost 300k miles on it I just cut my losses. The tape was amazing though.
Thanks for the info, I will try the flex tape. My jalopy needs a bandaid here and there. Cheap plastic bumpers couldn't handle the raccoons that ran right out in front of me recently.
Prayers for you my friend.
I think I read this in the General Chat but just in case.
Dear God this family is in dire need of your help. Place your calming hands over them. Show them that no matter how bad things are You are there to guide them.
Amen.
Sending prayers to you and your family. I did this to my passenger side mirror. I used electrical tape much better than the duct. I drove that way for many months!
if XRP goes to the moon first I'll donate and help you out promise.
But I know God wants us to turn to Him first =, instead of money, and God will send helpers to you.
Keep praying and this is perfect opportunity for you to build up your faith immensely like the bread in the oven and grow quick spiritually, whether it be your Holy Spirit, faith, r/ship with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
God bless you fren. Keep praying! We'll pray for you too.
Fuck man hang in there. The times are tough. Praying for you
Post some pictures, and some specs of what the car is.
Maybe we can guide you to a quick fix of the vehicle, and worst case, maybe we could come together to get new parts sent to you to replace whatever is broken.
Maybe upload a bunch of pics and info to www.imgur.com so we can see the issue, and we go from there to help you out.
But yeah, gme is many of us' last hope, and with roaring Kitty back tweeting, I have a feeling we are in the end stages of moass. As In, within a month of month and a half we may see fireworks.
Oddly, or not so oddly, both gme precipice, and maga/q precipice may be one in the same. I feel all of these topics are coming to a head, and we see fireworks on ALL FRONTS hopefully very soon

IF you wouldn't mind a crowd funding site, Give, send, go is a Christian site for this sort of trouble:
https://www.givesendgo.com/
I'm so sorry, praying for you. Please be in continual prayer with God right now. Ask your whole family to be in continual prayer with God right now. God can do miracles, but sometimes suffering is part of His plan for us and we have to submit to that. However, the Enemy is always prowling, and uses others (such as the homeless man) to taunt us. Be strong! Read the Bible and seek out other Christians.
Can you set up a crowdfunding campaign? I will be praying.
Prayers 🙏🙏🙏🙏 my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
What part of the country do you reside? What state?
Hang in there fren, you're not the only one on that boat. We will be completely out of money after paying our mortgage and bills in January. We too are just about out of time.
It may seem "out there" (but hey, you're on GAW!!), but take a listen to some of the tunes at this link. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nn1FwzqrmSo). Each one has a specific use for "helping you help yourself" with the Almighty chiming in.
What Are the 9 Solfeggio Frequencies?
The 9 Solfeggio frequencies are 174 Hz, 285 Hz, 396 Hz, 417 Hz, 528 Hz, 639 Hz, 741 Hz, 852 Hz and 963 Hz. Check the table below what properties are associated with each Solfeggio frequency.
Frequency Syllable Properties 174 Hz Pain relief: Helps to alleviate physical pain
285 Hz Body Rejuvenation: Rejuvenate and heal your body.
432 Hz Miracle Tone: Aligns with our planet’s heartbeat and heightens perception, increases the mental clarity of a person and unlocks intuition.
396 Hz Liberating Guilt and Fear: Helps to let go of the fear and guilt.
417 Hz Undoing Situations and Facilitating Change: Also helps with overcoming past trauma.
528 Hz Transformation and Miracles (DNA Repair): Helps to repair damaged DNA and creating miracles in your life.
639 Hz Love & Relationships: Promotes harmony with connecting and relationships of any kind
741 Hz Detox: Helps to detox your body and mind.
852 Hz Returning to Spiritual Order: Helps promoting intuition and your spiritual self.
963 Hz Awaken Perfect State: Helps with spiritual awakening and relates to third-eye and activation of the pineal gland.
How to Use Solfeggio Frequencies
The best is to listen to each tone individually with headphones to work on a specific area. If you need to listen to more frequencies do it one after another.
(From: https://zenmix.io/solfeggio-frequencies-generator)
Best that I can figure, the frequencies somehow actuate/hit a harmonic in our DNA. I'm not a biophysicist by any stretch, but this seems to be helping me out the past year or so.
And make no mistake, I'll be praying for you as well.
Dont even worry about the mirror electrics. It really will not matter, even in the rain.
Worst case, you blow the fuse to the heated mirror, or the electric adjustment motors, but this is very unlikely. The wiring is usually well enough insulated, and the couplers are usually silicon wrapped and essentially weatherproof. Even if wet, it's not that much of a big deal, the path created by rain water would be very high resistance and only cause a minor leakage current (rather than a true short, which as I say would only blow the fuse to that particular component). If you really were worried, you could take out the fuse to those components, essentially disabling your heated mirrors and electric adjust. Maybe you have indicators on there too - you wont want to disable them.
Yes you can just duct tape over the casing, use some black tape and you will hardly see it.
Just prayed for you my friend.
Lord we Thank you for the blessing of a surgery that went well and the healing and restoration of full health after. We thank you for provision not yet seen but provided. We request additional protection and support peace and strength for our brother and his family in this time. Amen
Sending my love. Wishing for a fortune your way!!
