Mine is really mild but my son is still struggling so I am going to give it a whirl and see what happens. I'm doing 1 tsp twice a day. It's kinda gross but not too bad. I am sure I stink and just can't smell it but a girl's gotta do what she's gotta do.
I'm only two days in. I thought it subsided totally for awhile yesterday but not 100 percent sure. Went into a quiet room and couldn't hear it at all. Came back. But that was the first break in the constant really mild buzzing in my left ear that I have had for months. I will keep you all posted.
I have bad tinnitus at times. Please keep us posted!
I used DMSO frequently on my horses…
I will. I have researched the shit out of this. DMSO does seem to have some nerve repair potential so I figured it can't hurt to try. It's really pretty safe in low doses.
I have the Healing With DMSO book. I need to pull it out and read.
I was a Pilot so same here.
Will do.
You're doing God's work.
Thanks OP! Will have to give this a try.
My whole life I never sat close to the stage at concerts and quit being in rock bands to protect my hearing. Yet today, in my head it always sounds like a herd of horny cicadas seeking mates, screeching and scraping their fingernails across a blackboard, inside a cruise ship's engine room.
Thanks for doing this and good luck. 🙏🤞
My tinnitus is never completely gone, but if I stretch my neck out, the sound subsides and if I push down on my head (compressing neck) the sound gets louder. My chiropractor didn't have an answer for why, but he always tries to stretch my neck to quiet the ringing down.
If you get a chance, please let me know if yours changes when you manipulate your neck or spine.
Will do!
I think you have somatic tinnitus. You might want to get a massage too, and see if you are grinding your teeth at night or have mild TMJ.
"Somatic tinnitus is a type of tinnitus where the perceived ringing, buzzing, or other sounds in the ears are influenced by body movements, pressure, or muscle tension, particularly in the head, neck, and jaw. It's characterized by changes in the tinnitus's loudness, pitch, or location when specific body maneuvers are performed."
"Somatic tinnitus is often associated with issues like TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorders, neck pain, or muscle tension in the head and neck region."
Hey Dolly,
Just wondering how your Tinnitus has been lately?
Mine was hardly noticeable last week, and now this week it's like there's a tiny whistle in both my ears. 🤷♂️
This is so frustrating and annoying. Hope you are seeing (or hearing) improvements. 🙏
God Bless and thank you Dolly! I just learned something because of you. If I open my jaw wide the sound gets much louder also. Certainly seems related to TMJ like you mentioned.
Annnnnd I used to clench my teeth at night. Strangely, it seems to have disappeared shortly after I started experimenting with Ivermectin a couple years ago.
I'll definitely research somatic tinnitus now.
Get your ferritin level checked. Under 50 and I bet that’s the cause.
I have been using a DMSO cream for about a week to treat my radial nerve palsy and it seems to be working. All of the "tingles" are gone and my range of motion and fine motor control have improved greatly.
May I ask, how do you apply it? I bought the DMSO aloe but I haven't a clue how to use it.
I put three 1/4 tsp of DMSO 99.999% into a shot glass, and one 1/4 tsp distilled water - mix it around and pour it in my hand then rub it on my lower back or wherever.
This gives me a 75% strength.
It's important to:
Wash area well with a natural soap (I use Dr Bronners) and dry.
Don't apply it 100% strength
Let it sit on the area treated for 15 min
Wipe excess off after 15 min
Avoid garment dyes, tattoos etc against treated areas...
Do it on a schedule for chronic ailments, it builds over time
Thank you

I know the focus of this thread is DSMO, but many use both for different reasons.
Both are seriously powerful agents on their own. I can't stress enough how important it is to research as much as you can so you can understand what is right for YOU.
Personally, I'm very conservative about using products like these, but I always remember from school, "The solution to pollution is dilution" - So when in doubt, water it down and ease into it, then feather in more as you go along. "A man's gotta know his limitations" - Dirty Harry Callahan 😁
It can be scary at first - especially with everyone telling to watch you don't get a Jarisch–Herxheimer reaction - but if you ease into it, you should be okay.
With DSMO it's a very powerful water AND oil solvent that can either on purpose or by mistake, pull things deep into your body and bloodstream... so I always remember that and since my back is my application area - I leave ot on for 15 min which seems like an ETERNITY when you're half naked... but then either wipe it off or just get into the shower.
I had a REALLY deep cut on my hand that any sane person would have gone to the ER and got at least 5 or 6 stitches...it was probably about 5/16 or 8mm deep...but clean. I patched it up after doing a betadine wash and about 3 days later my bottle of DSMO arrived. I put some on it. It's healed miraculously. It's only been a few weeks and even the scar is fading fast.
In terms if my back pain, it definitely helps... not as convenient as a pill, but certainly helps.
You can make a throat spray similarly. Maybe add an essential oil; it sure helps sore throats and swollen glands.
Good to know.
Doing Miracle Monkey Spray (Chlorine Dioxide) internally only. There's the "plus" protocol where you add DMSO to the ClO2 as well.
I got the roll on, it makes it easy.
Got it From where? Spouse has nerve pain in feet. Would it work for that?
You can get the gel or gel roll applicator at tractor supply. It's 99% and garlic smelling. Can cause mild skin irritation at first but subsides. I use this one for joint pains, tendinitis, plantar fasciitis. I also get the 70% dmso 30% aloe from Amazon. It's less irritating and I've read more effective at that concentration. I use on my face, scalp, really all over as needed. Great for sunburn, poison ivy. Has many uses. It will give a itchy prickly feeling at first when applied but goes away after a few minutes. Just keep rubbing it in. Not sure why so many are afraid of it.
I would recommend getting dmso from amazon in a glass bottle. Not the tractor supply stuff that comes in plastic. The cost is comparable. I’ve had a bottle for years. A little goes a long way.
Thank you
Awesome, t/u!
Amazon I think. I would give it a shot on the feet. I have read good nerve things. Didn’t seem to be fast acting. It was more like, hey it’s gone.
Thx, Rev!
Did your spouse try DMSO to take on that nerve pain?
Hey, srry just saw this. Not yet. Need more info how to use?! After shower, put on feet (wash hands?)….what? Socks? Flip flops? Have dogs soooo…no bare foot walking on floor for how long? Am I over thinking?
Need some direction. And t/u for asking.
It will absorb through the skin pretty quick. 15 minutes or so. White, 100% cotton socks are fine, but colored synthetic socks would not be good because DMSO caries any chemicals with it into the skin. Definitely wash hands afterward.
I am completely healed now and I suspect that your spouse will get quick results and won't have to suffer with that pain much longer. Please let me know how it works fren.
Once a day? We bought the aloe roll on (pretty sure) you recommended. How much is too much? Idk why this is breaking my brain…lol.
Great news that ur healed now! T/u for the info and a zillion answered questions. Will keep you posted.
Thank you
I just rub it in like lotion.
Can you be more specific? Where did you get it, brand, just rub it in once a day? Is it formulated specifically for nerve healing?
Spouse has that neuropathy in feet. Was hoping that might help?
I got it at amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0070Z7KME
I bet it will help your spouse.
Tuvm!
Let me know if it helps fren. This stuff is really helping my radial nerve palsy. I'm a programmer and this could have ended my career.
T/u. Spouse can barely walk some days. Glad it works for you! Blessings!!
How is your wife doing fren?
Still haven’t purchased yet. But planning on it. Thx for asking and thx for the info. Very much appreciated. salutes
I got this one. Been using it for 3 weeks.

T/u, bee!
The potential for nerve damage repair is fascinating. Here's an old 60 Minutes with Mike Wallace about it from 45 years ago. It's hard to find (obviously):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_szhaOS9V4
What’s the application method? Another one with tinnitus. Had it for many years
I am taking 1 tsp twice a day in around 1/2 cup of diet cranberry juice and I bought it on Amazon. Nature's gift is the brand and I got the 8 fluid oz bottle 99.9% pure. I have read a number of books about it most recently DMSO handbook for Doctors by Archie H Scott. Seemed like 1tsp twice a day is a pretty common dose and I opted for oral ingestion because we are pretty sure we both have tinnitus from auditory nerve damage, which is more of a brain than an ear thing.
Thanks for posting this fren. Have had tinnitus for years, it comes and goes but more recently it has been more constant. It drives me potty at night so I sleep with my Mp3 player and Spotify (rain sounds/ isochronic tones/binaural beats and anything to else to help mask it and send me off to sleep).
Was looking at DMSO not so long ago but hadn't considered it for this. Will try and get some and compare with you later. Do you get balance and vertigo problems also? ...it sucks.
You're taking orally?
Have you tried rubbing it inside your ear, maybe with a q-tip? I don't know if that would work, but I've used DMSO topically with some success.
I think our tinnitus is auditory nerve related. I did try an ear drop recipe briefly, but I think it's a brain thing.
Interesting; I just ordered some DMSO in roll-on, gel, and liquid. The liquid & gel 99.995%. My primary objective was to try it for my greyhound who has a mast cell tumor on her leg. She went through a $$$ stelfonta treatment that appeared to work, but then about 5/6 months later came back. Also put her thru first course of panacur (fenbenbazole) because the mast cell proliferation can be caused by parasites. I’m thinking the DMSO may well do the trick; we will see.
All that said, I have been experiencing (sometimes severe, but constant) tinnitus for about the last 2 years. Didn’t realize it could treat tinnitus. The last time it pretty much subsided was when I quit smoking (within about 3 days) before a surgery. Tells me they’re putting extra crap in the cancer sticks (the vaxes are not the sole vector of the evil overlords’ fuckery. I should just quit and try some DMSO when it arrives. Looking forward to its arrival. Thanks all for the info here.
I tried the roll on, it got into the bedding and washing it got it into the machine ,I kid you not ,that stuff stinks bad. Hard to remove
ah thanks for the heads up, will put on some bags and then some socks after application lol
Ordered from…?
I’ve rubbed it on the outside of my ear but no change in tinnitus. Did you take a teaspoon straight outta the bottle? That shit burns a bit.

I took 2 dropper full 3 times a day for 3 months and it cured many things but not my tinnitus.
Thanks. Looking forward to the update. Maybe I’ll give it a go with you!
From what I have been told from Medical examiners is your high pitched frequency damage to the inner ear (me working a career in jet aircraft) has been replaced by the sound your hearing (Tinnitus) coming from your brain. Every expert states it is irreparable. I will be following this thread and hope it works for you. I would love to make mine quiet!
It is technically irreparable because it's nerve damage. But the DMSO conspiracy theory is that some nerve damage is actually repairable.
We shall see. ;-)
Nerves will repair themselves. Lots of evidence. But it does take more time than other healing.
I wouldn't use a q-tip as DMSO will eat through anything that's synthetic like latex gloves. Not only that but your body will also absorb the synthetic materials like latex into your body.
Try to use 100% natural materials like horse hair brush or natural brush if you are applying across a large area.
I've been using it topically with great results.
I've also gotten relief from tinnitus via motivationaldoc exercises on YT
Also sinus relief following his instructions...
Just curious. Have you heard anything about DMSO eye drops?
She mentioned eye drops in this book
But I'm too sKeeRed to try them...
Incidentally, I got a sty in my eye yesterday from mowing grass and high winds...
Luckily a hot compress did the trick... I got out whenever was causing it to annoyingly press on my eyeball...
Thank you!! And, thanks for the swift reply. I'll check out the book. 🙏👍💗
It's kind of a boring read... but quick and easy
u/#catdance
I don't mind boring as long as I can learn something, lol...😁
Thanks, one of his videos suggested GABA so I'll give that a shot
The link you posted for the book is no longer on Amazon, do you happen to recall the title and/or author?

Where are you guys buying DMSO? I can't seem to find it locally.
Tractor supply, or local feed store will have the gel. Look in the horse section. Liquid can get on Amazon. 70/30 dmso/aloe is great. Less smell than the 99%
Try Amazon, I got mine off there.
Or you can go to DMSO store.

Same question.
Have you given ivermectin horse paste consideration? I've fount it mellows my brain out and helps me not get so pissed off throughout the day. Maybe it could help tinnitus, too. Plus try staying off sugars and carbs. They are inflammatories and could be linked to the tinnitus.
Ashwaganda also helps with rage issues. I started taking it a while back to help with menopause-induced rage (I swear it's a thing--the way people breathe was pissing me off), and it did wonders. Now if it would just get rid of the freaking hot flashes, lack of energy, and weight gain, I'd be golden.
For tinnitus, taurine helps. It doesn't cure it, but it lessens it, if you take enough of it. That said, I'm curious to see how the DMSO works on it. I got tinnitus right around the time I started menopause. I swear my body is out to get me.
You may find black cohosh helps night sweats. It also seems to help me sleep through the night.
Thanks! I'll try it. Any particular dosage you take?
I have been using a tincture that’s on the higher end of what you will find (over 600 mg), but I haven’t had any ill side effects. It seemed to help within a day or two, for me. It’s an earthy taste so you may want pills in lower dose and see how it works and work up. Now brand even has a blend with dong qai for menopause you may be interested in, too. GL!
Also coffee and smoking
I don't get why people are so afraid of the paste.
Taste/ texture. Maybe a little bit of, "The paste is for animals!" Also dosing is a bit tricky.
Dosing in 50lb increments is not hard. I reject that outright. You're on a board on which you are told to trust yourself. So,, TRUST YOURSELF.
If you're still scared of yourself, measure out those 4 notches(or whatever your dosage) of gel onto wax paper and freeze it. Do this with an entire tube and keep them in a container in the freezer. Oh look! Now its a pill!!
With a username like yours, you know your stuff on the diarrhea, headache and vomiting!
Good job,keep us posted.
What is DMSO again?
DMSO = Dimethyl Sulfoxide. To quote dmsostore.com, the official answer is:

I started getting tinnitus a few years ago. Turns out my estrogen was crazy high. I had other issues as well but that was the cause of it. Got the estrogen under control and tinnitus went away. Check your hormones.
Praying you get a complete recovery friend! Keep us posted.
Thank you 007! Will keep you posted.
Whoa, what is this DMSO? I've had tinnitus for almost 10 years and have learned to live with it, but restoring my hearing would be a Godsend miracle. I'd like to learn more!
If you are allergic to sulfa antibiotics, DMSO should be used with extreme caution because it can trigger a reaction.
I’ve been looking into this exact question for a family member and my searches have said the opposite, but it makes me nervous. I know you should always patch test anyway. Can you share your source, please? 🙏
I do confess to googling ‘dmso and sulfa allergy’. The Amazon review I believe is where I read it. Everything is an educated choice if you’ve done your research. If you are comfortable trying it, Do the patch test. My reaction to sulfa is anaphylaxis so I’m likely not going to try it.
Thank you good to know. I haven't had any problems at all yet.
Really? That’s good to know, too!
Are you using the Healing with DMSO handbook?
I have read it. I am taking 1 tsp twice a day in around 1/2 cup of diet cranberry juice and I bought it on Amazon. Nature's gift is the brand and I got the 8 fluid oz bottle 99.9% pure. Have you tried this tapping technique for tinnitus? https://youtube.com/shorts/3ZSNBCSk8gE
Yeah, it doesn't work for me.
Normally I’m on the up and up but I’ve never heard of DMSO, anyone have any sources they recommend or can I research it fairly easily?
I have read a number of books about it most recently DMSO handbook for Doctors by Archie H Scott. Highly recommend.
Cheers!
Search this site for dmso, several good threads have been posted recently.
Between the military and shooting guns I developed Tinitus, shot a box of ammo in my 20s thinking I didnt need no sissy earplugs... Eeeeeeeeeeee....
Lot of people in here with tinnitus :) :( I got mine from shooting a shotgun without hearing protection. Stupid decision in spur of the moment. Please keep us posted on your progress!
Will do
lol
I have had really bad Tinnitus for 40+ years. Most of the time you forget about it and the body blocks it out. When your in a really quiet environment of you think about it, it is really loud them. I wish someone could figure out how to get rid of it permanently. I will be book marking this thread. Hope it works out for everyone.
DMSO = Dimethyl sulfoxide
Do you have any update on this? Have you continued taking oral DMSO? Any effect on the tinitus or etc.?
Still there but I get brief interruptions of pure silence. Will keep you posted. The stuff does stink though.
Thanks for the update. I’ve started taking 2 teaspoons a day. No effect so far.
Thank you fren!
I hope it works! Definitely keep us posted. I would love some relief. Good luck!
Will do.
I'm going to follow your progress; I have tinnitus, it's so annoying - sometimes it becomes very loud for a couple of weeks, it's maddening.
Please do. Thank you.
In the old days they put a cup over their ear to form a seal.
Are you diluting it?
It can irritate the skin when applied topically undiluted, so I'd imagine the same for oral dosing undiluted for anyone thinking of trying this.
How is your ferritin level? Low ferritin can cause tinnitus.
How are you taking it orally?
Fam just started spraying 75% 2x at night but I don’t know if it , Made a difference

Going to buy a book…do you have a recommendation?
You might try wearing nicotene patches.
Hey @HelloDolly, would you mind sharing how you are taking it, dosage, etc.? Where do you purchase it?
She says in the post - 1 teaspoon twice a day so that would be orally.
Yeah but she doesn't say anything about dilution.
I did DSMO a couple years back doing MMS, mix a few drops in with each hourly dose. Meaning, diluted.
I've tried it topically, straight it can be a skin irritant, meaning, diluted not so much. I would think taking it straight orally could be stomach irritant.

Any updates on your progress Dolly
Didn't seem to do much to stop the tinnitus but may have kept symptoms in his case at bay. Mine is so mild it was hard to tell. After he saw me taking he was unafraid and did it for awhile while he was staying with me.
He kind of tapered off and tried this and that - so many things on the internet and word of mouth. His situation has not really improved at all with any of it. He is going to have to get very disciplined with the trial and error and essentially be his own doctor. The medical establishment really has no answers for catastrophic tinnitus so they just send you home.
Hi Dolly, thank you for the update. I’m sorry it did not make you and your son’s tinnitus noticeably better. Did it improve any other conditions or aches and pains that you may have? How long did you take it, or are you still taking it?
I am not still taking, but I talked my friend with bad arthritis into combining it with castor oil and using it topically. It has reduced his symptoms dramatically and more than anything else he has taken, including prescription drugs for pain and inflammation like Celebrex. Also, he is sleeping for the first time in years. I think that might be the castor oil.
Thank you for the update. I’m still trying to decide whether or not to give it a shot.
I stopped because it wasn't doing much. He was taking it when he was staying with me briefly and same. I have since read that some people that have had nerve damage repair saw results after taking DMSO regularly for a year or so. His is getting worse now and he is really not "buying" the alternative route ideas I come up with, which is frustrating.
Thanks for the update. I just started it for cuts/burns/bites. I'm testing it on a scar I picked up when I was a kid. Bought it off amazon, 30% aloe.
Sorry for the delay life's been crazy for me this year.
Please let us know if your tinnitus resolves. I've had tinnitus in my left ear only for decades. Two years ago, just after my sister died from multiple brain tumors (melanoma metastasis), I was told that tinnitus in only one ear can be a symptom of a brain tumor. A brain MRI showed a 1-2 mm bright spot on my hearing nerve, thought to be inflammation not a tumor. Big relief! The tinnitus has affected my hearing in that ear (a little). I tried to drink some DMSO, but it reminds me too much of mineral spirits, and I cannot get it down.
I will let you know. It's not too bad with diet cranberry juice but it is a little gross. I usually drink it with cranberry juice and then have a cranberry juice shot chaser with no DMSO to get the weird taste out of my mouth.
Sage advice.
