I’m Christian, but my walk isn’t as tight as a lot of others out there. My footsteps poem doesn’t have two straight lines, then one, then two…. More like one set zipping around like a squirrel with ADD, then the straight footsteps veering to intercept, and then footsteps with drag marks beside them, then one set of footprints correcting course, then back to two sets of footprints on the sand. I’m still loved like we all are.
That said, “Let go. Let God.” That helps from time to time. Use that as a mantra while meditating. Try it out.
The squirrel in me still thinks things are out of control. I pray for the moment the big guy says “Remember all that doubt you had? Check this out. Hold my beer.” It’s not my plan. It’s His. He wins.
Honest Christians will admit their journey has looked like this at times. My journey at the moment is hardly being able to drag myself to church where we put God in a box sometimes. I see God running the current WH plan and watching Him do miracles which is why I get more out of posts here than sermons at the moment.
You don't need a church to pray. God even asks not to pray in public. Over the years of interpretation important things from the Bible have been lost and instead we follow tradition instead of the actual word. Follow your gut and your heart and God will not steer you wrong.
This is my walk, the dragged feet trails in the sand and the Hold My beer statement. So many times He's proved to me that He loves me and that He is trustworthy. And I still don't trust Him. I don't trust anyone. He knows this. He created me. He knows the circumstances of my life. He sees me struggle, hears my cry, then gives an angel his mature drink (I'm assuming He enjoys something stronger than cheap beer) and pours out His work in me. Again and again. Love your comment. His will. He wins.
Just know that everything that is happening IS happening because God wills it. Therefore, you can remain at peace and thank God for it. This sounds ridiculous or impossible, but it isn't. When something "bad" happens, stop before you "lose it", and accept it. This is what is called "following the will of God". If you can thank God, you are that much further along the road. Life is a struggle to get closer to God. That is the entirety of it. If sorrows don't bring you to God, you are missing a lot. If joys don't bring you closer to God, you are not thinking about God at all. Do you thank God all day long? Everything you have, or see is from Him. Everything you experience is from Him. We are tested daily in many ways. How do you know if you are close to God? You display the virtues, which are connected to holiness. Are you kind, patient, peaceful, faithful, self-controlled, loving, joyful?? As you practice these virtues, you get closer to God, until you die, when you either go to Him, or go where you will never meet Him. It's your choice. Life is a binary choice.
Yeah, I try to make sure my light shines, and not in a self-righteous way. Nothing I can do to score that ticket though, it’s already bought with my name on it. I just hope my crazy candle contributes to someone else realizing they’ve got a ticket too.
Please look into the Walsh Protocol. I recommend doing a hair or blood test to check your copper/zinc ratio. Some of these supplements can be harmful if they don't match your biochemistry.
B vitamins, however, are good for everyone. B6 is a huge one that takes the edge off of anxiety. SAMe is good if you are undermethylated, Niacin is good if you are overmethlyated.
The B6 - Zinc combo is well known to alleviate the symptoms of Pyroluria which is quite often at the root of many anxiety - depression - bipolar conditions. Even all the way up to debilitating Schizophrenia. Abram Hoffer did a lot of good work with these supplements. He is known as the father of Ortho Molecular therapy. I was fortunate enough to be in contact with him in 2008 right before he died and his protocol helped my son, who was doomed to go into the psych system with all of the BigPharm meds they had him on. The B6-Zinc protocol brought him back to life. To this day he is med-free.
What a great story! What a great parent you are to investigate a safe and effective treatment! Very happy for you and your son! All the best to you and your family. I wish more parents were like you.
Thank you. Pyroluria is so easy to diagnose as well.. a simple urine test called "The Mauve Test" yet almost nobody I've ever spoken to about it in the "health field" ever heard of it.
My daughter was also saved from a lifetime of psych by orthomolecular! I try to share the good news of it wherever I can.
That's wonderful
There are some conditions that are helped by the pharmaceuticals, when all else seems to fail. Have you ever had "The Mauve Test" for Pyroluria done on him? It's a simple urine test. Then the dosages of B6, Zinc, Omega 6 and Manganese can be adjusted to whatever his 'shedding' levels are. In Pyroluria, the person reacts to stress with a 'washout' of these nutrients which compounds the stress.. then more 'washout'... it's a downward spiral.
It is similar to what happens when a person is deficient in Vitamin C - as in when sailors out on the open sea for months were deprived of this nutrient got "Scurvy" which in it's final stages was insanity.
There are lots of forums that discuss Pyroluria out there and I found them to be very helpful. Good luck with your Son.
Punching holes in the wall helps too.
Not being snarky. Some of us need a more physical form of expressing our anxiety.
But, best if you live alone. I found over the years that cohabitants tend to get in the way.
Seriously:
Good post. Self care is important. And the closer we get, the more so.
Are you me? I have gotten so good at drywall repair from this simple fact. Found where the studs are several times too, that hurts more ;-)
I walk into my doctor's office.
He sees my hand and says "bad day"?
And I say, yep.
LMFAO.. the knuckles on my right hand are noticeably different due to this "habit". It pisses off the wife, but I tell her it's better than punching someone else. Instant relief for me. Obviously, I do this at my house only. I do not do this for anxiety, usually it's for something that really pissed me off.
You need to work on being bipol... I mean, ambihanded.
Spread it out.
Especially since you have a wife. You don't need to safeguard your sex hand.
All ya all need to get a heavy bag.
Protect the hand like Curly. Of Mice and Men style.
I did say I was married, so yeah I need to protect that sex hand ;-)
Try knuckle pushups on asphalt. We use this to condition our hands in martial arts training. Start on the first two large knuckles and then move to the next two smaller knuckles.
Oh, and I was about to ask if you were my oldest son...until I saw where you FIXED the drywall you busted and I was like....nah.....
Get a punching bag or a bag of rice, go to town.
Take a martial arts class. Not only will you be able to work out some frustrations, but you'll gain self-control and discipline in the process. It's a win all the way around.
Plus heaven help the Wokes that try to mess with you.
That could get expensive. Lol! Like target practice! I use a punching bag, and I burn a few calories in the process. Double benefit
Check out the song When I get Mad I Punch The Wall, by Rappy McRapperson.
Then find Five Big Boners (wiggling in your grandma's face) after that.
Don't forget meditation, and CBD!!! Meditating 10-15min/day will do wonders for anxiety and more.
I thought CBD was a joke myself. Now, my experience is not human. It's animals. I have a small dog with seizures. She had seizures several times a week, and extreme anxiety. The vet told us to try CBD, and slowly ramped up her dosage over time. The benefits were amazing! She may have a seizure about once every couple of months, she's no longer taking prescription meds, and mostly calmed down in high stress situations. Worked for her. Another pup I have with hip dysplasia could not run or jump. Now she's running and jumping. So there could be some benefits for humans. A guy at work takes it also, and says be careful not to get it from any ol vap store. He recommends only the highest quality, which is expensive in comparison.
Cbd is different from reg thc weed..give it a shot! Also magic mushrooms are good for healing, but dont work for everyone.
I know someone who uses kratum. Totally fucked up. I’d stay far from that shit as possible.
CBD works so well you don't realize it's working because you just feel balanced. On the mushroom side, even more so than most substances, they magnify your state of mind, for good or bad. I don't touch them unless I'm in a good frame of mind and in that case, I find them cathartic, although I've heard of the cases in which they heal traumatized minds, and ayahuasca too.
The first time I tried CBD I had no clue really and just ordered a tincture and gummies... not knowing the proper dosage I should be taking, etc. It didn't work so I went back to pot. I then found a local distributor who is also a pharmacist who recommended a higher dosage tincture, 1800mg, and that worked. I took half a dropper under the tongue every morning, when my tolerance got higher I went to full dropper. Used this in order to ween of of antidepressants and it worked, been free for 2 years and I dont need the cbd anymore either. I also got these delicious candies called giraffe nuts that you can order online, 1 candy is 30mg and it gives a calming effect without high, first time made me a little sleepy but that's it. I understand it isn't a 1 size fits all but many of us go into these products not knowing proper dosing and then waste money bc they don't benefit from it. I hope this explanation helps someone else, only reason why I share. I've struggled for almost 15 years and now I am pharma fee and pretty much anxiety and depression free too. It is a mindset that has to start from within, Journaling helps a lot too.
Kratom is good too!
I second that and tai chi.
Not everyone takes to CBD.
I tried CBD in basically every dose from the tolerable flavors to the skunky gross shit that smells like my neighbors smoking pot.
It did nothing to change my feelings, my behavior, my worries or fears, it did nothing to assuage any anxiety, it didn't even help me chill out for bed.
It's worth a try, but it doesn't help everyone. I don't tend to take to any medicines very well historically either, having been on a couple medications when I was young that made no functional changes except affecting my metabolism negatively.
I still believe it's a fad from my own personal experiences, but other people will disagree based on theirs. So, I'm just saying that people shouldn't expect a miracle from something repeatedly touted as one.
same here kinda. I tried taking it for sleep issues. Didn't work at all
I would say you probably didn't have the proper dose or quality CBD. I paid $90 for one bottle of tincture, lasted almost 3 months though, for some people $90 is a lot to spend on a "medicine" so they find the deals and with that lacks quality and efficacy.
I understand that, I was not implying that it was a 1 size fits all just another recommendation to OP post. I also had a waste of money and time experience with it and then tried again after speaking to a pharmacist and understanding proper dosage and ways to take it. I found the tincture worked best for me, but it isn't a 1 size fits all. These are recommendations for people to research themselves and use as they feel necessary.
caution cbd contains trace amounts of THC that will show up on a drug test, if you consume a lot. It'll take about 3-4 days of stopping to pass a standard drug panel.
Vitamin D Deficiency
Research shows more than a billion people worldwide have a vitamin D deficiency.
Muscle weakness and aches
Weak bones
Fatigue
Inflammation
Hair loss
The deficiency may lead to many health conditions.
Depression
Hypertension (high blood pressure)
Arthritis
Eczema
YES!
Vitamin D is the best start!
Why not buy a punching bag instead of using the wall?
Its true. Walls are everywhere. If you have to wait till you get to a punching bag, you don't need to hit anything.
Walls are readily available
I used to have extreme anxiety. I tried everything. What worked for me was learning to meditate and forcing myself to think positively.
EVERYTHING is energy and vibration including our body and mind. If you have negative thoughts it brings down your vibration [vibe]. When you have a low vibration you have more negative thoughts which lead to negative decisions.
Pay very close attention to your thoughts and when you notice a negative thought STOP. Force yourself to look at the situation in a positive way. This will slowly become a habit and your vibration [emotions] will start to improve and instead of having a negative outlook on life, you will have a positive outlook on life.
It is very important to stop watching tv and the media and take some time to be alone and relax. Go for a walk. Be in nature. Unplug from all distractions and be present [meditate]. This will reset [quiet] your mind and change your life.
After a while, I started noticing negativity and realized it was everywhere. I could literally feel it and it would make me recoil. It is our choice whether we allow negativity to affect us or not. You are what you eat and the same is true with our minds. If you watch negative programing or listen to negative music it affects your thoughts. Start watching and listening to movies and music that have a positive message if you must. You will find that once your vibe changes your reality will change. Negative people will fall away and you will attract positive people and situations into your life.
"Your mind is a magnet. If you think of blessings, you attract blessings, and if you think of problems, you attract problems. Always cultivate good thoughts and always remain positive and optimistic."
Great advice for all
I have read a lot of good things about lemon balm. It is recommended for insomnia as well.
Before John Rockefeller changed the worlds medical habits the go to medication for depression and anxiety was Valerian.
I used this, it works well, I see there have been little or no studies done of its efficacy since allopathy took over.
Also GABA (health food store). @mac1221 might have some suggestions.
GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid) is a non-protein amino acid that functions as a neurotransmitter in the human brain. GABA is known as the brain's own calming agent and is naturally produced in the body. By supporting a naturally balanced level of brain stimulation, GABA's presence within the central nervous system may help promote relaxation and ease nervous tension.
Glycine as well
Glycine has also been shown to calm the central nervous system and has been used to help control epilepsy and decrease the symptoms of schizophrenia. Even so, many doctors still aren't aware that glycine can be very useful in helping to control acute panic attacks.
Would this have any effect on neuropathy?
Wouldn’t hurt to try
Oooh, good to know. I’ve never heard of it.
L-theanine
Also L Tryptophan. At least for me.
Both of these are solidly shown to improve a dog's anxiety too
Believe it or not, whenever I feel like I am just completely out of shits to give and I start dooming or get anxious about the rate of the Awakening, I go out and find some random person in a public setting and just do something nice for them. It doesn't have to be anything huge, but some interaction that I help someone with something or give out a compliment. Leave a handwritten note about how good of service I have received or tell someone that their smile made my day. The brightening of the day seems to work for both of us and I feel better about the prospects for humanity. Simple small acts of kindness and making a tiny personal connection to some random person always makes me feel like I did when I was a kid. I don't know if it will work for others, but I have been on both sides of the exchanges and it always makes me feel better.
Usually I call range day therapy.
Some of us already have a natural remedy for these things that doesn't include punching holes in walls. Just a thought.
Punching is definitely not the greatest way to control your anxiety or anger.
But punching a bag is a solid workout that can cause you to feel better, as exercise is known to do, while also giving you that physical outlet.
Some people play games, some spend time with their family or read a book or watch a movie.
But investing into a bag, even just a self standing bag can be good for you.
Conditioning yourself and taking any form of martial arts can also kick off a way of life that can be better too. Karate has the spiritual aspect, for example, and any martial art will teach you to focus yourself and keep you from injuring yourself when hitting things.
Very solid advice, fren.
Porn, it downregulates dopamine receptors and you have less energy and get less joy out of life. Which can make you depressed. Depression and anxiety tend to go together.
Boredom is not an emotion modern humans have a problem with. It is often a necessary emotion that not many people allow themselves to feel. They feel the beginning phases of the emotion, pick up their phone. Turn on netflix. We need to stop curing our boredom with fake dopamine hits. We sometimes need to allow this emotion to manifest because boredom can lead to thoughts of improving ones life. Boredom can lead to the motivation to take the steps to better oneself. Boredom can lead to some amazing creative ideas.
Most everything on your list is unnatural to our biology and should absolutely be removed from our lives, most on the list are modern unnatural things leading to unnecessary anxiety. However, boredom is not one of these things and is completely natural and part of the human experience. At least it used to be. Many people alive today have never experienced boredom before in their life.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c73Q8oQmwzo
And never experience boredom and thou shall never think of creative ideas. We shouldn't actively avoid natural emotions god gave us.
Yes you feel short term anxiety and it motivates you to do one of two things: something productive or waste time consuming social media or TV. I'm urging people to do the former by putting the phone down, letting boredom manifest, then using that feeling to do something productive. We're basically agreeing.
Ashwagandha for the win. Missing from the list is Black Seed Oil and mushroom powders.
Watch out for the fact anxiety isn’t always your situation or in your head. It is a legit symptom for many health concerns and it’s kinda mind blowing how many doctors ignore that. So be sure to take some time to access your body’s wellbeing overall with a more critical eye that most doctors offer these days.
Personal examples: I found out I have POTS. No reasonable amount of anxiety meds will make my body ignore the fact it thinks it’s dying when I stand, and the anxiety is simply a reasonable reaction that feels unpleasant. And I know some who feel their mental is significantly better if they avoid foods that cause histamine/inflammation in their bodies… Also magnesium is a good one for some people.
Magnesium, B6 and Zinc complex does the trick for me. I get mine from Terry Naturally dot com. Also phytocannabinoid hemp oil... different (and more pricey) than CBD but about 3X as effective
Most people suffering from anxiety are hypoglycemic, which means they are plunged into low blood sugar because of their faulty diet. The answer: Nutritional therapy, which includes determining your blood sugar ups and downs. Here's a little self-help: Keep a three day food journal and write down everything you eat, when you eat it, and all the liquids and amounts of them, you drink. Look at it: Are you eating too many carbs? Are you eating lots of sugar, drinking lots of alcohol? Are you eating throughout the day, or skipping breakfast and/or lunch? The body needs to be maintained with proper fuel. Good fats and protein are very important, and carbs are important, too, but they should come from vegetables and some well prepared grains. How about eating things that are fermented, like pickles of all kinds, sauerkraut, kombucha and yogurt? Do you eat raw food every day? You should! Egg and bacon for breakfast -- good and very sustaining of blood sugar. Never eat just sugar! OK, try to do all that, plus drinking half your body weight in ounces of pure water. Go! Note: if you are feeling anxious, you are probably suffering from low blood sugar. Hypoglycemia. It is rampant in our society right now. Eat some protein and fat to get out of it.
I use a form of liquid magnesium that tastes absolutely awful, but when I take it, I get a temporary buzz and feel much more relaxed. It feels like a hit of weed. I've never had magnesium tablets do that to me, but this liquid stuff does it.
what liqudi do you get if you don't mind?
Sorry, I forgot to reply to your message. (Not sure why someone downvoted you.) It's Sunwarrior brand and you can order it from their website. It tastes terrible, like bitter metallic salt, but I usually drink it with a big sip of almond milk and that helps mask the taste better than water or juice or anything else I've tried. Sometimes I get that buzzed feeling, and sometimes I just notice I'm a little more relaxed. I guess it depends on how tired or dehydrated or low on magnesium I am. It's definitely the most noticeable magnesium supplement I've ever tried.
I'm surprised that Kava Kava wasn't listed in the article. I've used it in the past, with excellent results. I always recommend it for people with anxiety issues or in need of muscle relaxation.
L-Phenylalanine isn't mentioned.
It's basically an amino-acid that the body uses to make the precursor to the brain chemicals that are supposed to regulate your mood, if you don't have enough good-mood building blocks through your diet you will have issues, this fixes that.
Can be a bit of a sneaking fix, for many it works very fast but for many it takes a bit of time, you just find less reasons to be in a bad mood and more reasons to be in a good mood over time, often without really noticing until you just one day realize that you simply deal with set-backs without it being a big deal and is motivated to do stuff every day, and realize that it isn't a new thing and that it has been the case for a while now.....
Bear in mind it's the L-Phenylalanine that is preferable as it's the natural amino, there is a B-phenylalanine available but the B version is synthetic..
Cardio and exercise with heavy shit drink lots of water be healthy and stand guard at the doors of your mind only let positive information come through this is the way
Stop drinking alcohol and go to the gym. Talk to god.
Rife frequencies.
THC can help too. Those are all great suggestions.
There was a point in time where I had a newborn baby girl, an off-the-rails ADHD 4yo son, my mom dying of pneumonia in the ICU, my beloved dog/best friend dying at home… it was too much and my brain went TILT! That first real deal panic attack hit and the high anxiety never quit and it was true Hell. I got on the meds which just made everything worse. Long story short I came across a book called DARE and read it and re-read it several times. In about ~ 1 year I went from non-functional basket case to fully recovered, just by changing my thoughts about and reactions to the grinding anxiety I was living with every day. Yes I prayed, trust me there. God put that book in my hands. I whole-heartedly recommend it.
That’s a lot to handle. I’m so glad you found some relief.
Thank you, me too. Yeah it was an incredibly scary time in my brain. Constant, intense fear just coursing through my mind and body 24/7 non-stop for weeks. No sleep. Couldn’t eat. Lost 40 lbs real quick. I was having 3D 4K HD Dolby surround sound visions and voices (that felt “alien/foreign/not from me” telling me to open up my wrists with a certain paring knife. Had to throw it away. I had to throw away pens and notebooks so I couldn’t write a note to my family. I had to avoid looking at my bank statements so I didn’t write my wife and kids a check for my remaining money. Thank GOD I climbed out of that pit.
Yeah, thank God you did. I’m glad you did! That is horrible.

Changing my diet helped me a lot with anxiety. First I went gluten-free after I discovered a rash I had was tied to gluten sensitivity. A few years later I still had some anxiety issues, and cut way down on carbs to lose weight. That might have helped the most, as far as anxiety.
I noticed getting rid of gluten helped me as well. I think it’s legit.
works faster with Ignatia and Coffea Cruda 30C
GABA, not to be confused with gabapentin. An amino acids present in human physiology. 250-500mg at onset of anxiety, agitation, racing thoughts, mood imbalance. Softens the static of the nervous system to provide calming, peaceful and centered state. I’ve turned mothers of ADHD children into this, bi-polar sufferers, opiate addicts, and people stuck in the high adrenaline>anxiety loop. Not a cure all but a go to when ones nervous system is overacting/over reacting.
raw milk
Goat milk would be better if you had a healthier goat as opposed to a frankencow. Also some people are sensitive about what kind of milk they can handle. Perhaps what they're reacting to is what the animal was fed. That's the limit of my knowledge regarding goat milk.
Ever since I started drinking raw milk instead of pasteurized my brother doesn't introduce me as his partially deaf sister anymore. (I think it was only certain frequencies. My hearing was otherwise good.) Pasteurized milk causes swelling in my head that affects my ears. I won't touch it, now. I overcame gender dysphoria, which I believe is an obsessive compulsive disorder. Speaking of myself, raw milk gives me a certain calm and stability, and I love the confidence I get from knowing I'm getting top-notch nutrition. I don't get cavities. I don't go to the doctor.
Again, it could be I was reacting to frankencow milk and what the cows were fed more than the pasteurization itself, but as a rule pasteurization goes hand-in-hand with poorer quality health animals, and pasteurization greatly degrades nutrient quality.

Thank you for posting this!
I have powdered Ashwaganda, just add it to a morning smoothie type drink. Works quickly to elevate mood!
Also, Sam-e is great for anxiety with depression. Take for 2 weeks to evaluate its effect on you.
