I don't believe in god, satan, or any of that nonsense. Other people have the right to believe in what they choose to believe in. A person's belief system will cloud their judgement.

When I took the time to construct my philosophy soundly, brick by brick, I took everything; what I feel, what I experience, what I know, and put it to the test. The best standard or measure to be used for that test is Nihilism. I can say definitively that nihilistic thinking is EXTREMELY exhausting, but exploring it is also, ultimately, extremely rewarding. Doing so enables you to build an impenetrable foundation of your beliefs.
When you admit that nothing can be absolutely proven, or absolutely known, faith becomes more than just optional; it becomes necessary. I believe in God for a lot of reasons; one of the most fundamental is that the alternative is effectively a null status; where nothing has meaning, there is no truth, nor objectivity, nor goals or morals. There, then, is no logical reason to NOT believe in a higher power; if you are wrong, and nihilism is the "correct" status of whatever plane of existence or lack thereof, then you literally can't be wrong, or right, because it doesn't exist.
If that word salad was too messy, basically: either God exists or nothing does; no point in not believing in God because if you're wrong, you basically don't exist and don't matter anyway. A higher power is the only truly philosophically logical stance to take.
I believe in forces and entities beyond our realm of perception or comprehension. Some good, some malevolent and evil. Call them God, Satan, Quetzalcoatl, Krishna, Kali, Gaia, whatever you want but I do not buy into any one religious doctrine as being the "right" one.
At one time people believed in the Greek Gods as much as Christians believe in God or Satan, yet today we call them "myths." We just happen to be in an age where the Abrahamic religions are the dominant ones on the planet.
Many have spoken of the "Macrobes" that Sir John Dee communed with that demand blood sacrifice. Such an entity could easily co-opt "Satan", it doesn't necessarily mean it is the Satan of the bible or a literal fallen angel.

Downvoted, not sure why. I'm not expressing agreement or disagreement with you, but it's a fair stance to take that a literal entity of Satan does not exist, and that, instead, "Satan" is a figurative representation of the absence of God.
Given that goodness is defined by God, evil is inherently the absence of God. Satan need not be an entity, and hell need not be literally a universe/plane/"place" of fire and torture; if total separation from God is 100% "evil" (because total separation from God means total separation from goodness) then hell could literally be the state of the soul that has pushed away God, and then died, severing all ties to God. As God grants us free will, such separation should be possible; making hell literally a uniquely and individually self-imposed state of absolute and maximal suffering.
This has evidence in the real world, as well. Those who chose evil and sin typically are the most miserable people on this planet. They create their own personal hells; their conscience tortures them; in response, they push God and their own humanity as far away as possible.
Does this mean an entity of "satan" cannot exist, or that hell in the more traditional sense cannot? I don't believe so. I simply think we don't know enough; distinction, also, seems unnecessary; either way, God is good, and hell is to be avoided at all costs; something that can be done by turning to God.
You might want to learn a little more about the occult and their customs. They literally rent out Catholic Churches for black mass weddings where Satan appears in human form to “marry” one of his “brides”. Seven brides exist worldwide at any given time. I have read books of Christians who have escaped from this dark world of Satanism.

Many people have claimed many things. User testimony is valuable, but, depending on the circumstances, can only go so far, especially when there are potential alternative explanations.

As I've gotten older and read more philosophy, I've sort of thought about the idea of hell from a few different view points.
I've noticed that when some, but not all, people talk about a satan/devil like being they put him on the opposite end of God, some being who is a rival to the Supreme, but God hasn't destroyed this evil being because 'reasons'.
But when I think about it, such a figure is more like an administrative position, dealing out punishments for sins as prescribed by God, I mean why else would Satan punish sinners if he was against God?
And when talking about God and his mercy and love why do we limit it?
Suffering in hell for all eternity?
Where is God's love and mercy there?
Does God only provide one life to people to get it right?
I know the Bible doesn't talk much about it, but a system of karma and reincarnation sounds merciful compared to hell for eternity.
As you probably can tell I'm not well versed in the Bible, but I believe Jesus is real and I believe he is the son of God.

I agree with most of what you said. That's one of the reason I'm skeptical of the existence of such a "satan" entity entirely; God's mercy is so great, and free will so important, that I am inclined to believe that hell HAS to be a choice, less than some kind of "punishment" dished out by God.
I think the idea of hell is attractive to a lot of people because it fits with a lot of the ideas of justice; that said, I tend to take a lot more of a philisophical and metaphysical approach to it all; being Catholic I was raised on the principles of "religion of the word, not the book"; non Catholics often don't understand what that means and misinterpret; basically, it's saying that Biblical literalism is a dead-end because the Bible is one of many sources of truth. It is a very valuable source, literalism is illogical and ignores the true depth of the messages of the Bible.
I think one of the harder things for people to wrap their mind around is just the magnitude of God's creation, and God's relation with His creation. I don't pretend to comprehend it, but I think I understand some parts. Perhaps most importantly, God defines everything. God is omnipotent; not subject to our descriptions. God is not good, good is that which is of God (God is good, I say it in this way to emphasize the dichotomy). God did not create evil because evil is defined as that which in opposition to God.
We are created in God's image; to be good. By doing that which is not good, we are rejecting God; running from Him. As happiness comes from goodness, those that chose evil cannot be happy. The farther they turn from God, the more they suffer. God gives them every chance to return and be completely forgiven; if they do not accept it, God lets them go. Being immortal in soul, they waste away in Godlessness and pure suffering. They are literally reaping what they sew; no punishment from God or torture from "satan" necessary.
That said, Satan or Hell in the traditional sense could exist; this does not preclude that, it just explains the nature of such things further, should they exist; and it provides an alternative explanation if they don't.
As far as other living entities; the explanation I usually hear and take myself is that they don't have a [unique] soul. They don't have free will, they are simply biological computers with inputs and outputs. That said, the apparent love which they are capable of expressing seems so much more. I think it's possible that, in a weird way, animals are almost reincarnations. Maybe God controls them and uses them as a conduit to express love to us directly; or to change things in the world that need changing (saving children from burning buildings, as one example). Maybe the souls of those that came before us can "inhabit" them in a similar manner.
I think these verses are relevant to all of these topics, and, indeed, our times in general:

My mother was raised Catholic but no longer practices and father was raised Christian, alot of my views come from them.
But they raised me with a more eastern philosophy flavour. So it's coloured my thinking.
Example: The body is a vehicle inhabited by the soul.
The soul is the eternal spiritual living entity, that which is the real us, that which was made in God's image in a qualitive sense not just a body image sense as well.
By its nature the soul would be eternal too.
Bodies come and go all the time, what a man sow, that shall he also reap in bodies as well.
I was taught that the same soul may inhabit all different kinds of bodies, but by God's mercy it's only in the human form that we are given enough intelligence to seek a way out of this hell, a chance to get to know god and hold him in our hearts.
The true devil would be our desires which keep us mired in the material world distracted from the open door right in front of us.
Do I believe in hell? Yes. I believe anywhere that God is not "present"(in the hearts of men) is by definition hell.

We know during the dark ages, there was many correctors of the canon, but they made a lot of mistakes. Was it Jerome? St Augustine, who wrote City of God, always criticized him for using so many Hebrew texts when he rewrote the canon (the vulgate was closer to what the zoroastrian texts but the romans and sasanid empire were basically in a 400 year war). The dead dead scrolls revealed a lot of truths.
Keep in mind that a LOT of text was recovered from that era, and even before that era, it wasn't until computers could do rosetta stone-like translation that a lot of the more ancient papyrus could be extracted. A lot of it is partially congruent with either the Talmud or the Old Testament (who knows what the explanation is but there were probably many sects who each passed on different cannons). Also, the Vatican has a lot of text digitized now (they hoarded it forever) that isn't in line with the Council of Trent's canon.

I've been on this board longer than my uptoots would make you think (there was a time when you couldn't log in and also no way of resetting your password so I had to start a new account) Evspra was here in the early days and provided some good info.

It's a new account from a lurker. I agreed with his past mod actions and yes he could have handled it better. I'm sick of mods making one petty thing blow up a whole community and then blame the community for reacting poorly. Over on Reddit it happened on PCM which was my favorite sub.
I like the guy too but didn’t know he did the full ban on his own. To make such a drastic decision like that he should have presented his findings to the other mods first and gotten some type of response. I hope he contacts them and comes back because he was a valuable asset to this board.

I spent the past week over at NoNewNormal on Reddit and one mod decided that everyone there needed to get vaccinated and many users posted screenshots of him banning them for not wanting to take the vaccine. His defense was that he wanted to make the subreddit seem less like a conspiracy subreddit. That was the problem, not him being a lefty or a vaccine pusher, him trying to shape the subreddit in his image because he believed he was right and that he couldn't possibly be mistaken. Evspra didnt do anything close to this but I can see how it set off alarm bells in many people.

I can only assume here, but I would think it has to do with the emotional nature of the GN issue, frustration, and a long persisting feeling of needing to get away from GAW for a while (or some combination thereof). The temptation to respond to these posts might be overwhelming if he kept his account, too.
Just speculation, but deleting his account could have been encouraged by the other Mods as well. "Start fresh" or "take a break," etc, could have been the reasoning -- or any number of reasons, honestly.
I did not ever deal with Evspra and George News is most likely complete BS BUT a unilateral ban on anything that needs 75% to overturn is also BS.
The way to do it would be to bring the subject to the communities attention and then let the community vote for 24 hours to decide with a simple majority dictating.
Yeah after the feathers were ruffled though and a pretty overwhelming response was needed to revert the ban. If however, the vote had been close (51-49 against the ban) Evspra essentially would have been saying that his/her opinion trumps the communities opinions.
I think Evspra would have had much less opposition had he/she brought the issue to the community in a collaborative effort.

I have purposely separated myself from the debate regarding George News because in my view George News is irrelevant to our goals of restoring our Constitutional Republic.
In my estimation, George is fairly harmless. All it has done is offer spiritual support and some cool pics. George does not inspire strong feelings for or against in me, though I remain wary.

Spring has come on full force this week in SE Lower Michigan. As a concrete contractor that has meant starting this past Monday I am working 10 hours in the field instead of sending out a skeleton crew with instructions and working from home (OK playing with my grandkids more than working). So admittedly I have missed most of the drama.
But I did see the informal poll posted by Evspra this morning which showed overwhelming support for his George link ban. So another question that has left me somewhat confused is why did Evspra pick up his ball and go home? Usually people firm in their convictions dont act this way.

We don't have to agree on everything. My input was that instead of banning George News we just keep an eye on them. We keep an eye on many many different things, even CNN to see what they are pushing down sheep's throats. I don't think that banning is the answer. When you admit that nothing can be absolutely proven, or absolutely known, faith becomes more than just optional; it becomes necessary. I believe in God for a lot of reasons; one of the most fundamental is that the alternative is effectively a null status; where nothing has meaning, there is no truth, nor objectivity, nor goals or morals. There, then, is no logical reason to NOT believe in a higher power; if you are wrong, and nihilism is the "correct" status of whatever plane of existence or lack thereof, then you literally can't be wrong, or right, because it doesn't exist.
If that word salad was too messy, basically: either God exists or nothing does; no point in not believing in God because if you're wrong, you basically don't exist and don't matter anyway. A higher power is the only truly philosophically logical stance to take.

I believe in forces and entities beyond our realm of perception or comprehension. Some good, some malevolent and evil. Call them God, Satan, Quetzalcoatl, Krishna, Kali, Gaia, whatever you want but I do not buy into any one religious doctrine as being the "right" one.
At one time people believed in the Greek Gods as much as Christians believe in God or Satan, yet today we call them "myths." We just happen to be in an age where the Abrahamic religions are the dominant ones on the planet.
Many have spoken of the "Macrobes" that Sir John Dee communed with that demand blood sacrifice. Such an entity could easily co-opt "Satan", it doesn't necessarily mean it is the Satan of the bible or a literal fallen angel.

Downvoted, not sure why. I'm not expressing agreement or disagreement with you, but it's a fair stance to take that a literal entity of Satan does not exist, and that, instead, "Satan" is a figurative representation of the absence of God.
Given that goodness is defined by God, evil is inherently the absence of God. Satan need not be an entity, and hell need not be literally a universe/plane/"place" of fire and torture; if total separation from God is 100% "evil" (because total separation from God means total separation from goodness) then hell could literally be the state of the soul that has pushed away God, and then died, severing all ties to God. As God grants us free will, such separation should be possible; making hell literally a uniquely and individually self-imposed state of absolute and maximal suffering.
This has evidence in the real world, as well. Those who chose evil and sin typically are the most miserable people on this planet. They create their own personal hells; their conscience tortures them; in response, they push God and their own humanity as far away as possible.
Does this mean an entity of "satan" cannot exist, or that hell in the more traditional sense cannot? I don't believe so. I simply think we don't know enough; distinction, also, seems unnecessary; either way, God is good, and hell is to be avoided at all costs; something that can be done by turning to God.
You might want to learn a little more about the occult and their customs. They literally rent out Catholic Churches for black mass weddings where Satan appears in human form to “marry” one of his “brides”. Seven brides exist worldwide at any given time. I have read books of Christians who have escaped from this dark world of Satanism. Satan’s biggest accomplishment is fooling those who don’t believe in his existence. I have been in tune with the paranormal my whole life and I can tell you for a fact that real demons exist and they fear the name of Jesus.
For one, I don't dispute that there are those that practice occult "customs"; just because they practice it, doesn't mean it's legitimate or real.
As far as you're personal experiences; I'm not going to tell you what you did or did not experience.
That said, I'm sure you can understand that, as someone who has not had experiences of that nature, nor seen any evidence other than testimony, I take a stance of skepticism. Is it all possible? Sure. I'm open-minded enough to understand that, and, if presented with overwhelming argument or evidence, I may change my stance. In other words, I'm reserving judgement.
Many people have claimed many things. User testimony is valuable, but, depending on the circumstances, can only go so far, especially when there are potential alternative explanations.

As I've gotten older and read more philosophy, I've sort of thought about the idea of hell from a few different view points.
I've noticed that when some, but not all, people talk about a satan/devil like being they put him on the opposite end of God, some being who is a rival to the Supreme, but God hasn't destroyed this evil being because 'reasons'.
But when I think about it, such a figure is more like an administrative position, dealing out punishments for sins as prescribed by God, I mean why else would Satan punish sinners if he was against God?
And when talking about God and his mercy and love why do we limit it? Suffering in hell for all eternity? Where is God's love and mercy there? Does God only provide one life to people to get it right?
I know the Bible doesn't talk much about it, but a system of karma and reincarnation sounds merciful compared to hell for eternity.
As you probably can tell I'm not well versed in the Bible, but I believe Jesus is real and I believe he is the son of God.

I agree with most of what you said. That's one of the reason I'm skeptical of the existence of such a "satan" entity entirely; God's mercy is so great, and free will so important, that I am inclined to believe that hell HAS to be a choice, less than some kind of "punishment" dished out by God.
I think the idea of hell is attractive to a lot of people because it fits with a lot of the ideas of justice; that said, I tend to take a lot more of a philisophical and metaphysical approach to it all; being Catholic I was raised on the principles of "religion of the word, not the book"; non Catholics often don't understand what that means and misinterpret; basically, it's saying that Biblical literalism is a dead-end because the Bible is one of many sources of truth. It is a very valuable source, literalism is illogical and ignores the true depth of the messages of the Bible.
I think one of the harder things for people to wrap their mind around is just the magnitude of God's creation, and God's relation with His creation. I don't pretend to comprehend it, but I think I understand some parts. Perhaps most importantly, God defines everything. God is omnipotent; not subject to our descriptions. God is not good, good is that which is of God (God is good, I say it in this way to emphasize the dichotomy). God did not create evil because evil is defined as that which in opposition to God.
We are created in God's image; to be good. By doing that which is not good, we are rejecting God; running from Him. As happiness comes from goodness, those that chose evil cannot be happy. The farther they turn from God, the more they suffer. God gives them every chance to return and be completely forgiven; if they do not accept it, God lets them go. Being immortal in soul, they waste away in Godlessness and pure suffering. They are literally reaping what they sew; no punishment from God or torture from "satan" necessary.
That said, Satan or Hell in the traditional sense could exist; this does not preclude that, it just explains the nature of such things further, should they exist; and it provides an alternative explanation if they don't.
As far as other living entities; the explanation I usually hear and take myself is that they don't have a [unique] soul. They don't have free will, they are simply biological computers with inputs and outputs. That said, the apparent love which they are capable of expressing seems so much more. I think it's possible that, in a weird way, animals are almost reincarnations. Maybe God controls them and uses them as a conduit to express love to us directly; or to change things in the world that need changing (saving children from burning buildings, as one example). Maybe the souls of those that came before us can "inhabit" them in a similar manner.
I think these verses are relevant to all of these topics, and, indeed, our times in general: "Meanwhile, when a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples, saying: "Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. My mother was raised Catholic but no longer practices and father was raised Christian, alot of my views come from them. But they raised me with a more eastern philosophy flavour. So it's coloured my thinking. Example: The body is a vehicle inhabited by the soul.
The soul is the eternal spiritual living entity, that which is the real us, that which was made in God's image in a qualitive sense not just a body image sense as well. By its nature the soul would be eternal too.
Bodies come and go all the time, what a man sow, that shall he also reap in bodies as well. I was taught that the same soul may inhabit all different kinds of bodies, but by God's mercy it's only in the human form that we are given enough intelligence to seek a way out of this hell, a chance to get to know god and hold him in our hearts.
The true devil would be our desires which keep us mired in the material world distracted from the open door right in front of us.
Do I believe in hell? Yes. I believe anywhere that God is not "present"(in the hearts of men) is by definition hell.

I spent the past week over at NoNewNormal on Reddit and one mod decided that everyone there needed to get vaccinated and many users posted screenshots of him banning them for not wanting to take the vaccine. His defense was that he wanted to make the subreddit seem less like a conspiracy subreddit. That was the problem, not him being a lefty or a vaccine pusher, him trying to shape the subreddit in his image because he believed he was right and that he couldn't possibly be mistaken. Evspra didnt do anything close to this but I can see how it set off alarm bells in many people.

I have purposely separated myself from the debate regarding George News because in my view George News is irrelevant to our goals of restoring our Constitutional Republic.
In my estimation, George is fairly harmless. All it has done is offer spiritual support and some cool pics. It seems to me that it is George followers that have elevated the source to almost Q like levels, not George itself. George does not inspire strong feelings for or against in me, though I remain wary.
But there has been some important questions that I see arising from this melodrama.
Everyone put on your critical thinking cap and ask who would benefit most from a schism here at GAW. And then contemplate how you would go about creating said schism when the normal shill tactics have failed.
We are anons and, by definition, none of us knows anyone here or their backstory. By necessity we must put blind trust forward as currency to a certain extent if we are to remain a community with common goals. As a concrete contractor that has meant starting this past Monday I am working 10 hours in the field instead of sending out a skeleton crew with instructions and working from home (OK playing with my grandkids more than working). So admittedly I have missed most of the drama.
But I did see the informal poll posted by Evspra this morning which showed overwhelming support for his George link ban. So another question that has left me somewhat confused is why did Evspra pick up his ball and go home? Usually people firm in their convictions dont act this way.
I hope this doesnt get lost in the fog. I think these questions need to be asked and even if we can not find a satisfactory answer maybe we can learn and grow.

We don't have to agree on everything. My input was that instead of banning George News we just keep an eye on them. We keep an eye on many many different things, even CNN to see what they are pushing down sheep's throats. I don't think that banning is the answer. The people who follow george are anons and it's nice to know what they are being shown. I feel to be an anon is to be aware of things going on. Evspra didn't have to leave , he contributed a lot. But so does everyone else.

Turning the george news thing into an issue by the morons(not evspra) is typical. They did the same "free speech" ploy on tdw, we saw it on the old GA and cbts boards as well. It's a free speech matter as long as it fits their agenda/mindset, it's similar to when the leftists want to remove the filibuster when they are in power, but want it back in place when they are in the minority, as long as they are in the winning position is all that matters. All these people want is license to say what they want yet hypocritically, others aren't allowed to criticize their words.
I personally could give two shits if someone wants to go to the GN site, though I have my doubts they are aligned with us, but there is no need to try and convince people here how awesome it is. Free speech works both ways, you have a right to say what you want, I also have the right to not listen or come to the conclusion that someone is a moron. That being said, the vigor of white knighting for GN is rather tell tale, it is the same rabid attitude exhibited here when defending gab or tearing down Tucker. The world is not black and white, it is quite analog.
Was Evspra wrong, not even close. Banning links is fine, banning users is fine. It wasn't overboard at all from my observation. We've had a massive inundation by shills, idiots, and sleepers lately. I appreciate the board clean up that has been going on of late, prior to that the mods had periods of being asleep or letting shit fly that is unacceptable at times. With Evspra gone, are the current mods going to take up the mantle, are we going to fall to the way as TDW has? I surely think that is the goal of the left, the cabal, and anyone else who doesn't appreciate us. I agree totally! It was unfair and he was a great mod and took time out of his day to bring special stuff to this community besides all the research he did so we didn't have to. he didn't have to do any of it! Like you said he was/is one of us and how he was treated is nothing short of disgusting! We lost a good one and we will be hurt because of it. We don't see the continuous attacks from shills and tolls especially after all the docuseries on Q, Why because the mods like Evspra was nailing them, clowns, before they got on the board, We gotta do better, This community deserves better.
