Respectfully I’m not a 20 year old with his whole life ahead of him. I’m 32, beaten-down and tired. People don’t look at me as a fountain of potential anymore.
I rebuilt my life (for the sixth time) in 2020 at the age of 45. My biggest lesson in all of this was to trust God. I was an atheist until 2020 but received a message from God that I needed to relinquish control and allow him to take the wheel. It was a pivotal moment in my life -- and a reminder that we are right where we're supposed to be.
I’m just gonna add that God stepped into my heart after a long period of me half-heartedly participating in that relationship. It came with a thirst to be close to Him like I have never felt.
It seems that God has done this with a lot of people. Never going back , I’m fully embracing whatever the Lord has for me.
You sound like my mother. She is very well living according to God's word and she is 100% at peace almost all the time, even with her households finances getting extremely tight.
I am doing my best to live according to his word. But at the same time I can't help but constantly stress about what my next move is going to be and how to best prepare my household for possibly wildly different outcomes/futures. Stayin' strapped and ready for war... frequently praying for a good outcome... and often looking up ready for Jesus to pull up. 😄
Everyone older than you would love to be 32 again. It's all the perspective you choose.
Pick up the book, "Think and Grow Rich," by Napolean Hill. It's a great starting point. Once you've consumed that a few times, keep reading other self development books. It's all about building momentum and that starts with your first good choice, then your second. Before you know it, you'll be on your way.
Another great book is, "How to Win Friends and Influence People," by Dale Carnegie. This one will help you become an excellent communicator and there are few things in life that will help you achieve more in your personal and professional relationships than being a good communicator.
You've already demonstrated your courage and bravery in choosing your life over the Mandate. Never forget how strong you are. Many people can't do that.
You've got this. God has a plan for you. He will show you the way. 🙏🏻
Well then you're a 32 year old with his whole life ahead of him. Who cares how other people look at you, how do you look at yourself? As others have mentioned, it seems hard to find good workers these days. If you're a hard worker I have no doubt you'll look back on this as just a bump in the road. Be optimistic.
Please dont. I am currently 66 years old. I got laid off a great job in 2020 but because I was close to retirement I did not look for more work. I got this great job at the age of 48. Thats how long it took me to get a decent job all jobs before that were minimum wage. Unlike you I did not save any money so I am now 66 with only pensions. We moved to a small town on Manitoulin Island picked up a cheap house and we now have our own garden in the back yard. We have spent the last 6 months picking up canned vegetables and tomatoes, beans etc with an expiry date 3 years into the future and have enough just in canned goods to do us for a year. Plus we now grow our own vegetables and have 2 freezers full of meat. Also a generator in case the hydro goes out, propane and a wood stove. You need to get prepared. 32 years old is young you still have the rest of your life ahead of you. This upcoming food shortage cant last forever so things will turn around.
Easiest legal way to get to Alaska is education visa. I knew a guy from South Africa who went to Canada first, then up here and got a shitton of financial aid for college. Then he ditched the US and went somewhere else. Crazy system since the taxpayers are always shorted, but, in your case I have faith. You could be Airframe and Powerplant licensed in less than 2 years. Making 6 figures in no time.
I would say pretty much all over. Hit the job boards to find even HS diploma can pull in over $50k in a state or city job. Anchorage has huge deficit in framers and roofers for construction. Too much work, no people.
You get to your objective and you take what ground you can and hold it. Meaning, you get a job. Any job. Even a menial minimum wage job. You start building work history.
Use the skills you learned in the force. Leadership. Move up the chain. And when better job comes along, you advance to the new objective, take it, dig in and hold it. Improve your position (leadership. Make a name for yourself).
Either move up that chain or move to the next objective when it presents itself.
Keep building work history. Keep showing up. Be "that guy" that's always on time, on task and doesn't need micromanaging or constant supervision.
And you keep advancing through until you get to the final objective. A career that feeds you well, satisfies your need to be accepted as competent at your task, has leadership above you that you can trust.
Excuse me? You set your direction to maintain your health. Then you set your direction to pack up. Then you set your direction to move to find work. Then you set your direction to find a new place to live. You aren't directionless. You are experiencing a ton of self direction after leaving the forces where you would have been poisoned if you had not decided on the initial direction. You are a direction whirl wind. And the direction will continue each morning when you direct yourself to get out of bed and make a new decision every morning. Welcome to civilian life. You will get used to it. And you will have the opportunity to create something bigger than you have ever experienced on your own. You just got a head start ahead of the guys still in the forces. Welcome home.
Saskatchewan. You can find a place in a small town there for practically nothing. Dont know about Jobs but if you can buy a place you dont need as much money to live.. Grow your own food, there is a massive food shortage coming world wide as they destroy more and more crops, animals and food processing plants.
Identify all your skills, build a resume and set up a linkedin account (yeah big tech but places look there now). Sharpen yourself up, put on a winning and can-do attitude and see what you can find.
Hate to tell you this, friend, but if you think things will be better in Canada, you're drastically mistaken.
As for your situation, I was once in seriously dire straits, myself. Absolute lowest time of my life, a life which had already seen too many rock-bottom low points. If anyone was fucked, it was me. I couldn't see any future anywhere.
Fast forward: But with an effort of will, I pulled myself together and jump-started my life. There was still a lot of suffering ahead of me, but I kept on plugging and prevailed. Now I'm retired, and I look back and say to myself "My God, was I really able to do all that?"
And the moral is: I'm no superhero. If I could do it, believe me, it can be done.
I read the comments. You need Chesty Puller in your life. Suck it up, soldier. Adapt and overcome. 32 isn't old. Go work the oil fields. It's a workers market right now.
Fren: Please do not leave us! We need you. You have a picture of a farmer with wheat! They are planning famine for us. Please stay and help little old ladies get the food they need. And the children! What about them?? Don't leave us!! We need you here.
Well, first. Pray. And I mean it. God will guide you and provide. He will lift you up. Never underestimate the power of prayer.
I was 35, broken. Physically unable to do my job to a hypothetical retirement age. Ended up going back to school and having a much better life through prayer and hard work.
Since you are starting from scratch its actually easier. Figure out what you WANT to do. Set your sights on it. If your not sure. Take note of all the things you would like to have in your life and find a living that works with it.
That is something most on earth never get a chance to do after learning what this world is. They are stuck where they are and cannot change much or lose everything. You get to write your own future.
You will have to start small and you most likely will have to find something to get you by till you figure out what you will do. But sitting here at 45+ and having carried a family through a similar situation, I think you will be fine.
Given the area you are headed to it seems agricture is primary. Look into employment services to have a stream coming in and every night after work start planning your future.
Always trust in Christ. And never give up on yourself.
Know you are worthy of his grace and mercy …. Because you are (dont believe it, KNOW it). Quit feeling sorry for yourself and show gratitude for your life. Not the life you have now. The life u are gonna ask the Lord to help you build. Know that God hears all prayers, because he does. Literally ditch fear and doubt. Adopt the “if it doesnt happen then fukit” attitude. 10 times a day spend 10 seconds recognizing the beauty in something/anything you see, hear, touch, smell. Everything counts. Do this intentionally for 10 days. You will still be doing it in 10 years. When you realize you are swimming in an ocean of miracles and beauty you cannot help but have perpetual joy and faith. That is the recipe for synchronicity. The universe will have no choice but to manifest into reality those things you seek.
Also on a prep note. Ill have time tomorrow to get a little deeper into what you could look for in the imediate future. So, what did you do in the forces?
I was an aviation systems technician on a maritime patrol fleet. I have no civilian accreditation, I can’t get a job in the industry regardless as transport Canada is following the vaccine mandate.
This is going to sound stupid to you, it does to me. but I’ve lived and worked in the same base, in the same city for my entire adult life. I need to get out and get back to what I come from. I grew up in a tiny town. I just feel the prairies calling me and I can’t think of anything I’d rather do than work on a farm, doing honest work. I don’t like hearing myself talk like this because I know how it sounds but at the end of the day, I need to get out of here
Aviation systems tech sounds like a high demand skill. Find a small town with a private airport and make friends. Hell, head north to the Yukon and work on bush planes for cash under the table, the ultimate adventure. Those damn mandates only enslave the big cities and big corporations, here in the US at least plenty of self employed and smaller companies saying piss off to that crap. The further you get away from city centers the less these "mandates" are enforced. If Canada is anything like the US, off-grid networks of businesses are being created out of necessity that cut out the middleman.. aka the government and health authorities.
Also, with a truck, see if you can get into basic truck stuff. Jink hauling, trash hauling, shotgun deliveries etc. Lots of self reliant money can be made with a truck.
No that does not sound crazy at all. Had a friend who was similar role in US Armed Forces and he did the very same thing. You have a huge leg up just knowing what you want to do. If that is where the Lord is guiding you. Dont deny it. Embrace it and set your mind and heart free.
Finding local work should not be too hard and you should have a good amount of mechanical kowledge. I would look into market farming and see if any of it sounds like something you are interested in.
You're a free man, a Patriot, and a Soldier for God now. What you did was RIGHT in HIS eyes and the eyes of all free and awake peoples.
I wish I had more for you than that, but I pray you keep that as your foundation for whatever you build from here. Something tells me you'll be good in the long run.
Most people leaving the forces feel directionless because everything was determined for them. You didn't have to think about being free. Get a job, any job, then go from there. Think about the process and not the destination.
I refused to inject myself with this, and I quote Dr Simone Gold, Investigational Experimental Biological Agent. To keep my job of 13 years at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
So at 60 years old, I told them to go pound sand. Cashed out my 401K, bought a home in Tucson, sold our home in Santa Fe NM and moved back home to AZ. During that time I scored a contractor job with a large insurance company doing cybersecurity. 7 months later they offered me a full time position, making almost what I was making at the lab. Totally remote, no job mandate, and no stupid drug testing. Now I get to enjoy MJ, hangout in my pool during the summer here in the Sonoran desert and work from home.
When the mandate expiration date came, I honestly was having panic attacks, couldnt sleep at night. Didnt know how this was all going to play out. But I kept my faith in my heavenly father, and followed his guidance.
This all played out, better than I couldve possibly imagine at the time. You're 32, have a decent amount of cash, and a pickup truck! The world is your canvas right now, so go and paint a beautiful picture!
In a few days, I’m moving out of the house. A house my ex and I built seven years ago. I separated from her after over ten years of being together, and only last year I proposed and we planned to start a family. I have grown to hate and resent all of humanity (except this community), including my family. I can walk through thousands of “people” everyday but I feel completely alone. This hatred has turned to numbness and now, sorrow. My partner and my family, fought me, and I was only guilty of one thing. Loving them and doing my best to protect them.
Home_: this is life. As an gym addict, I need to be reminded that nothing worthwhile came easy. Sometimes I cry in my car while I cruise at night after work, or in the morning on my way to work. Because I feel so alone. I have to put on a persona in my office, which could easily “mandate” this jab any day now, and when that happens, I’ll have nothing. And that’s Ok, because we have ourselves.
Be thankful for your freedom, be thankful for your health. No “work” is worth it when they are forcing you to an an experimental injection in which death is a side effect, just so you conform while politicians can get their kickbacks and big pharma laughs on their way to the bank.
You’re not fucked. You are free and you have the rest of the world ahead of you.
I don’t hold any civilian accreditation or anything
This is your mantra:
I was an AVN tech for 12 years ...
and finish the sentence with
... and I really learned a lot, know really important stuff, accomplished even more and I am ready to offer and use my extensive skills and knowledge whereever it will be needed. Plus I am ready to learn something new everyday and work hard.
I’m Canadian but when they were cracking down on the unvaxxed at my unit, pulling us into the office and doing the “it would behoove you to…” threats, I would listen to this if I knew I had time before I was called. Gave me courage.
I told my wing commander during my exit interview that in due time him and those who serve will be wearing blue UN helmets and checkpointing his own family and countrymen. I said, “between you and me, I’d rather die”
I'm not sure how it works for you guys but for avionics you don't need certifications to work at a third line shop. Transport Canada rules are pretty retarded but if you aren't working on aircraft they tend not to care much.
Things may seem bad, but you won't be fucked to the extent that the military will be when there is a skirmish and the army or the vaccianted is falling left and right, and not from gunshots. You also won't be as fucked as the military wondering where their next recruits are going to be coming from. Who will sign up for this nonsense?
Canadian Forces members discharged from service because they disobeyed an order to get vaccinated against COVID-19 will have the opportunity to re-enrol, according to leaked details of the military’s revised vaccination policy.
Yeah I’ve had a few people call me this week and tell me, If I get a phone call from some career manager in Ottawa asking me to re-sign, I’ll be giving a polite “no” before hanging up the phone
Getting a job after the military should be easiest thing ever. There are entire headhunter agencies like Orion group that contract for companies looking to hire veterans. In particular those with technical or mechanical skills.
Get on google and find a headhunter. Easy. I had a dozen job possibilities in my lap before my last day of service.
You're Free.
Start there
I’ve got 20,000 to my name and a pickup truck with my belongings. Where do I even start?
When I was your age, I had a $0 and a Chevy Beretta.
You're already better than me.
I'd go to a temp service and see what local jobs they got just to keep money flowing until you figure your next move.
Learn home repair, learn how to work on your car, learn how to grow food, learn how to barter your work and manage a small business.
These skills are invaluable, and will help you save money as you get older.
More importantly, pray to God to nourish your body and mind, and read the Bible.
I’m 42 - would be interesting to hear that story. I feel I took the wrong fork in life a decade ago and wish I would have taken the other route.
It's not too late! Get on the right path fren!
I’m just gonna add that God stepped into my heart after a long period of me half-heartedly participating in that relationship. It came with a thirst to be close to Him like I have never felt.
It seems that God has done this with a lot of people. Never going back , I’m fully embracing whatever the Lord has for me.
Then you have already won.
I have!!! I have a peace, even amongst all of this crap. I have moments, but prayer gets me through it.
God is in control.
You sound like my mother. She is very well living according to God's word and she is 100% at peace almost all the time, even with her households finances getting extremely tight.

You give me hope, thank you. I’m 44 and I’m starting fresh in a couple of days.
Yes! It's like a snowball effect in the other direction!
First you have to push hard because the momentum isnt swinging in your direction, but once you start, you can't stop! Winning gets easier and easier!
I second these book choices. Then re-read them every year. You pick up something new from them over time as you grow and evolve.
You've got to look at yourself as a fountain of potential. God does, and thats why he has a plan for you in the Great Awakening.
I bet there's 50+ year olds on this site that would love to be 32 years old during the awakening.
Id get a job and start making friends with a local farmer. If his harvest is limited, he is likely to give to people in his circle first.
Oh to be 32 again….
under different circumstances yes, go back to doing what I was doing at 32, no thanks
Doing handyman work in agricultural areas is satisfying as can be. Cash money and barter=freedom.
Everyone needs a hand with something. Build your skills as you earn.
Man, if I was 32 again....... I'd be way less broken and twice as productive.
Me me me me !!!!

LMFAO.
It was a decent starter car, but once I started working on them, I got into Hondas and Toyotas for their longevity.
Not crazy about the way cars are heading at all these days.
Keep heading to Alaska. We need decent workers here.
I wish man, I’m Canadian though,
I’d give anything to be able to live and work in Alaska you have no idea
I know Canadians that live here without citizenship- just sayin
I hear you and to be honest, if I wasn’t a single man with no reason not to stay and dig in for what’s coming, I’d consider legally moving to Alaska.
Not sure you can legally enter us without Jab but you sure can do it illegally
Only traveling by air. No vax mandates traveling over the border by ground. Wouldn't want to make it any harder for illegals to cross.
You should apply for citizenship here in the States, maybe secure a work visa down the road.
Hello fren, what parts of Alaska are best to start looking for work in? What kind of workers are in short supply?
I would say pretty much all over. Hit the job boards to find even HS diploma can pull in over $50k in a state or city job. Anchorage has huge deficit in framers and roofers for construction. Too much work, no people.
I'm down to my last 60 bucks and I also have a truck. If I can hang in there, you can too. Don't give up. Start over elsewhere.
May god bless you and send you all you need right now, dear fren.
Thank you, fren. You have no idea how much this means to me. Thank you
Perhaps this will give you some additional hope, comfort and strength, I found it yesterday and went to sleep with it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIhI8vkNgnk
Thank you
Montana
No jobs
No jobs in Montana? Thats categorically false, but even if it was … Wyoming. Coal country is big$ Jobs.
I started with a lot less,so you are in pretty good shape. I would start with making sure your truck is in good repair.
Like a soldier, that's how you make it.
You get to your objective and you take what ground you can and hold it. Meaning, you get a job. Any job. Even a menial minimum wage job. You start building work history.

Semper Fi, Brother.
This is excellent advice.
Excuse me? You set your direction to maintain your health. Then you set your direction to pack up. Then you set your direction to move to find work. You are experiencing a ton of self direction after leaving the forces where you would have been poisoned if you had not decided on the initial direction. You are a direction whirl wind. Desantis said he hired all the blue and healthcare workers who refused the jabs. Head to Florida if you don't mind the heat.
Oh sorry.
A post earlier today shows Alberta is shot-free: https://greatawakening.win/p/15IrBSnUyO/cbc-admits-defeat-for-ahs-hahaha/c/
Identify all your skills, build a resume and set up a linkedin account (yeah big tech but places look there now). Sharpen yourself up, put on a winning and can-do attitude and see what you can find.
edit: I just read you are from Canada.
I also support Step 1
Hate to tell you this, friend, but if you think things will be better in Canada, you're drastically mistaken.

Name checks out
If you have your health then everything else is minor, though I'm sure it doesn't seem like that.
I read the comments. You need Chesty Puller in your life. Suck it up, soldier. Adapt and overcome. 32 isn't old. Go work the oil fields. It's a workers market right now.

Get into the trades and you'll be making $65,000/yr+ in 5 years.
I switched careers at 27 and I now run my own contracting business. 40 years old now.
Don't delay, just start and time will handle the rest.
If you are going to Alberta, then there is still some hope.
There are plenty of employers who are willing to hire unvaxxed ppl. One day at a time my fren.
US or Canadian? Not being cheeky, but advixe would differ depending on citizenship.
Canadian, advice would be appreciated thank you

Did you like doing that type of work? May be worth getting something to tide you over and work out what you'd prefer to do long term.
One day, when you are with the lady God planned for you, you'll be glad you had the courage to leave that other person.
❤Hugs to both of you🐸
Get a laptop and learn QuickBooks online. Plenty of new businesses and not enough bookkeepers. That goes both for Canada and the US.
Get the hell out of Canada anyway. If you are abUS citizen with a passport or even without, you are allowed to return without getting the clot shot.
I will tell you from personal experience that God will provide a way. He is your Father and He loves you. Just ask.
Either of those provinces would work. What do you do? I might know some people
First off thanks for the sticky man, I needed to read some of these replies
I was an AVN tech for 12 years but I don’t hold any civilian accreditation or anything so I’m starting from scratch. I just want honest work.
Don't let this be your mantra:
This is your mantra:

... and I really learned a lot, know really important stuff, accomplished even more and I am ready to offer and use my extensive skills and knowledge whereever it will be needed. Plus I am ready to learn something new everyday and work hard.
Hey thanks man, ever since this post you and the rest have really helped me re-frame things, I appreciate your words brother
You are welcome and I am glad that it is helping - you are a winner and you will go for it also this time and succeed.

A good choice to listen to!
You are brave, strong and wise, skilled and intelligent, keep on following your inner knowing, everything will show up on the way.
Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and life" - You are now on the way with truth and alive!
God bless and protect you. Give us some updates about the unfoldings, fren!
Every town right now in Alberta and Saskatchewan is looking for workers. Badly.
If you're a hard worker you can get any job from flipping burgers to working on the oil rigs.

Leigh Dundas gives great advice.
A fellow Cananon told me of this, and I remembered your post: https://ottawacitizen.com/news/local-news/canadian-military-poised-to-end-vaccine-mandate/wcm/1867a998-0edc-4768-8edb-3a9b65fa87b1/amp/
Start over…build yourself a little business that is needed. I did. Worked hard, was successful.
TO OP::
Take your College Fund, and go to a Training School, one that improves on our MOS....
IF you are Combat MOS, then go and get a Truck Driving or Welding or some other interesting Skill that can get you some serious $$$$......
But, don't just move to some place without the Skills you'll need in that area.....
And believe me, working the Oil and Gas Wells is NOT for everyone.....
Stay away from the “big” cities (Edmonton, Calgary, Regina, Saskatoon) if you don’t want as much wokeness.
And depending on where you’re moving from get ready to bundle up.
God bless you man and may you have nothing but success and joy wherever your road leads.
why canada?
