It is very unlikely the people of Florida will elect someone who isn’t similar to Ron DeSantis. Especially after seeing what his opponent ended up being (a meth user with a wife and kids caught with a gay prostitute).
This ticket will be so powerful it will set up MAGA for years to come. Trump handing it off to DeSantis in 2028. That’s the perfect scenario.
Don’t worry about having a based governor. While it may not be DeSantis for much longer, they will be like DeSantis. I can see him giving his endorsement to a good candidate to replace him.

I've heard this as well. So far, it looks like it is Ken Griffin looking for DeSantis to give him a political position, but I've not seen anything to indicate whether or not DeSantis is willing to do so. Ken and a lot of other shady wall street types have donated a lot to DeSantis, but donations alone aren't necessarily a bad thing.

He's said over and over, every time he's asked this question, that he isn't interested in running, that he's going to finish the job he started and fix FL first. That means he isn't heading to the WH until 2028, at the earliest.
Neither has Trump said whether he's running, or not. Or even said who he would pick as his V.P. The last time he was asked about DeSantis being his running mate, he said he didn't know and that he doesn't really know DeSantis very well. While we all can pretty much guess correctly that particular statement isn't true, (Trump ditched NY for very specific reasons, imo, one of them.being DeSantis), that's about all he's ever said on DeSantis.
As much as I'd like to see that reality, sorry folks, but DeSantis isn't going anywhere any time soon. FL's voters will make sure of that.

Electors in the electoral college can only vote for one candidate from their own state. Since Trump and DeSantis are both Florida residents, that would mean one of them wouldn't get Florida's electoral votes.
