The guidance says she must be removed if the appearance of impropriety exists in the prosecution. Saying Wade must resign while not making her is insane. Maybe he will speak up now that he was made the scapegoat....
Despite the depressing headline and bullshittry, she does not get off entirely scot-free, as her staying on the case is dependent on her firing her boyfriend from the department and case.
Also, I am willing to bet that Trump has many more cards to play here, and Fani's situation have gotten a lot more unstable. She dodged one bullet, but how many more bullets she is able to dodge?
Her reputation is shit now. The political winds WILL shift again at some point down the line...and Fani will pay, hopefully disbarment at a minimum.
I read that her net worth is $8 million. She hardly needs the job now after being paid for her crookery.

I would like to add to here what I have posted on the General Chat and expanded on that:
Because of this decision, Fani have a few choices:
1.) Fire Mr. Wade from the case and still be on the case, but with a diminished set of cards to play with and with Mr. Wade being a loose end that could decide to retaliate against her for cutting him loose (after all, being part of prosecution the team means he has plenty of inside knowledge that could give Trump and co. a much bigger edge, should he decide to turn over a new leaf).
2.) Keep Mr. Wade on staff and getting her entire office thrown out of the case anyway, or
3.) Pretend to fire Mr. Wade, but sneak him back onto the payroll, and risk getting slapped around HARDER when her shenanigans gets found out (recall that her office is probably under more of a microscope than before, so it will be harder to do anything in secret).
Keep in mind there are more potential legal missiles we can now fire at Fani, like the election financing violations and potential tax evasion concerns. She may have dodged a fatal bullet, but there is a lot more bullets where that came from and she's gonna slip up in her evil one of these days.
Why do I think she would choose opton 3?
Because she is a crook, and a dumb one, to be sure.
However, if she did choose option 3, I wonder if someone up the chain of command would not appreciate Fani trying to cheat the system like that.

I dunno, if you go back to other threads people were quite sure that Fani would be gone. Not everyone, but some. Others of us refused to say much because we knew we'd be labeled "doomers", but realistically Fani wasn't going to go.

Yep as suspected. What did that judge need to see to remove her from the case? This is corruption on full display. Anyone who watched the proceedings can see how she lied about hiring Wade, how she paid him extraordinary money especially for never having tried a case in his life. How she benefitted directly from the payment. In any rational objective court she would have been removed from the case, disbarred, jailed and fined to pay back the money she tried to launder. But not in this courtroom. Who can stomach one more minute of this charade? This pretend, two tiered justice system has got to go. These corrupt judges, DAs and their handlers need to face military justice immediately.
She lied but as I understand it that would be a separate trial (Georgia Senate is holding inquiries on this). Basically it wasn't for this judge to determine if she was committed perjury or should be disbarred.
It's not clear if she got a financial benefit because they exchanged money in cash.
That Wade never tried a case is obviously not ideal, but she had attempted to hire others and that's not in dispute.
Legal justice is always very slow and no one should have had the expectation that this single decision would reconcile everything.
The judge said that either Willis or Wade needed to be dismissed to prevent the appearance of impropriety. He was more concerned about the optics of the prosecution than the actual corruption on full display. To say it wasn't the judge's call to determine whether Willis lied or not is incorrect. He could have declared a mistrial based on the testimony and evidence provided. The trial optics were destroyed as soon as evidence and corroborating witnesses came forward and testified about Willis and Wade. No honest judge would expect a jury to disregard what had transpired between Willis and Wade in forming their opinion. The trial as constructed was a sham and it was the judge's duty to call it what it was and declare a mistrial.

They have asked her for documentation for using a federal grant for intercity youth. They want to receipts to make sure thats where it went and not just funneled through for her trips etc….she hasnt given documentation yet. The subpoena for documents from Willis comes in the wake of claims that her office retaliated against an employee who raised concerns about federal Justice Department grants potentially being used for other unrelated expenses. The grant was earmarked for youth gang prevention in Fulton County, but a report from the Washington Free Beacon, a conservative news outlet, alleged that Willis' office sought to use the money for items like laptops, travel and "swag."
Just very strange that the judge would require her lover to withdraw, but not her. If there was impropriety at all, it was by BOTH of them and not just him.

This will cause an automatic appeal and review of the case by a higher court, likely a mistrial as the prosecution attorney withheld evidence of his own bias and self-interest in the case. The Attorney General also withheld evidence of her bias and self-interest in the indictment and selection of the prosecution attorney.
May as well toss out the case now. Any findings will likely be tossed out on review by a non-corrupt judge.
So basically she faces no consequences for lying to the Court or anything else. So lawyers can lie in Court and not face disbarment, but doctors who prescribed a safe and legal drug, ivermectin, lost their jobs and had to fight to keep their medical licenses
