I’ve never understood the purpose of the Q clock, how it’s relevant, or how it can be used to explain or point to anything.
I’d love it if someone could EILI5 - but every time I’ve asked, it seems nobody can offer a complete answer either.
I will try to explain, but not defend the clock theory. It will be a poor effort.
People like to find patterns and decodes. Unless you were following Q drops in live time, there is going to be info/significance missed when looking retrospectively.
Early on people noticed that certain posts lined up to other posts. (As far as I know the Q team didn't explicitly promote the clock idea). When there were fewer posts connections were easier to see.
In seeing these patterns someone created a model (a circle that keeps spiraling from the center) and doing this lines up dates where posts had things in common. Think of it like a q delta (yearly) but more frequent.
As the circle kept going around people would draw straight lines radiating out and noted commonalities. However I think there is a danger in confirmation bias (as there are many posts that don't line up according to Q clock model).
Part of following Q is finding patterns, q proofs, and datefagging and the Q clock is an example of trying to find meaning in the cryptic posts. I am sure some connections were missed by the anons and some faulty connections were formed. The clock is one tool among many ways people came up with to find the pattern to Q posts.
I find it interesting but at this point not helpful. As the Q clock was accepted early on, it just continued to grow as more posts dropped.

Correct. And in war time things are constantly in fluid/in flux, as moves and counter moves come when they actually happen. Not when others think it should. That’s why the clock appears to grow/expand. It’s war. Yes events can be game theory’d out, but the date of when things may actually happen is always in flux.

u/Manumission was half way there, I wouldn't have given the -1 except for I can smell the disdain behind the way it was explained.
How it came to be:
Relatively early in the Q posts, Q was posting about building the map to get a greater understanding, kept mentioning winding the clock. (Keep in mind these were in varied contexts, and you'd really have to read through the whole archived threads around those posts to get the context in which they were taken, and now applied, the other one was the Qmap showing the different connections to different elements of deep state, separate topic)
The first iteration of the clock had Jan 1 at the 12:00 position, a Q post indicated that was incorrect, that it needed the correct START, and talked about winding the clock and building the map. Finally, people found the start date, and made the Q clock in its current configuration (covering 1 year of days, so, much smaller), Q made a post confirming it matched the intent and since then people had started making a mark on the clock each date that Q posted.
How to read:
You find the day, draw a line through. Find the relevant Q posts on that line, you'll notice they tend to have a bit of a theme, those are connected and the mirror of that line.
The thing is, it's not meant as a predictive tool, except in like how Nostradamus is not useful as a prediction until after the fact where people can make connections.
Unlike the supposition that it is all about biases, there have been far too many coincidences regarding Q posts, the clock and confirmations. Just not always the ways people expected.
Thanks for posting this, friend. My post was an attempt to explain something and be helpful without having to do a lot of back research. The caveats I offer were because beyond the basics I haven't looked recently into the Q clock phenomenon. I am open to fraternal correction. I posted in passing so the disdain may have come off as heavy handed.

The only disdain I have for the Q clock theory and Q research decodes is when people stretch meaning too far to find a connection or do weird numerology (like serialbrain2 did - I think that was the name).
So for future proves past and for legitimizing Q I think the Q clock is great. For datefagging or for trying to predict the future I think the Q clock now isn't as relevant outside of that initial establishment of "Can we trust Q? -> Holy Moly Q is legit". It is tool with uses but for some of us who were watching early on (I was within that first month or so) it helps us have few doubts about original Q. Current Q (June posts around Roe vs Wade) needs to be established again using Q deltas with Trump messages.
Since the game is information/disinformation and moves/countermoves I have my skepticism on the Q team using a model like the Q clock as a rigid and easily predictable tool. Sometimes it works when posts are for the anons or for stirring up deep state but other times posts are not for us and may never be explained.
So I do believe in the Q clock model but personally with the amount of years gone by I don't need it to legitimize Q. Newer anons might.
Now we are in a different phase. Since there aren't recent Q drops and a lot of unfulfilled Q posts (that lead to us datefagging on) as I think about it, based on what you wrote, I can see a good use for the model in proper datefagging (Hey, guys this future date is possible and interesting versus the it is this day guaranteed form of datefagging). Proper datefagging or deltas can be helpful for newer anons or for those who do deep digging.
As for me things are so real in the news and in geopolitics that we see happenings all the time. Maybe the best thing Q did for me is help me see beyond the lens of the media propaganda. Not that we don't need new Q posts now (I would love to feel the experience and hype of a fresh Q post again) but we are awake and trained by Q. We see the patterns and through the lies. Just as we feel and see happenings escalating so too does the deep state feel the heat. I don't know when things will happen but damn isn't it satisfying watching the deep state fail in their propaganda. Maybe that is where I am getting my new Q post dopamine hits from now.

What SBB2 did was the most absurd decodes of posts tied with Trump tweets, I actually tried once to replicate his decodes because he explained the "rules", and he wasn't even following his own rules and just picking stuff that would be what the anons wanted to see.
The important part is that any predictive value the Q clock might have is going to be lost in all the times it doesn't apply. If you look at the days on the line, it might be the mirror, it might be a tweet time stamp, it might be from the capitalization of Trump tweets, etc. Any one method will fail most of the time.
Mostly the proofs only come from after the fact confirmations, and at first was to prove to anons that the posts were legit. They slowed down, but have ramped back up these past couple years, and mostly in ways that would not have made sense as a guess when first posted. If it weren't for the renewed proofs, I probably might have started dooming too, shit looks bad many days.
It doesn't really seem like disdain for the theory itself, but for the people who take the theory as gospel despite no direct confirmation.
That's where I disagree, the level of confirmations, even after Q was "debunked" (J6), is ridiculous. They just rarely appear the way we would naturally expect with the statements.

I spent a long time studying Q shit for the last five years, but man I never once understood this damn Qclock thing. I'm not knocking it, more power to those of you who spent hours picking this thing apart - especially if you got something out of it.

On sunday my pastor was talking about how everything is getting better. We live in a rural town with lots of farmers and he was going through fertilizer costs and how they've come down, how diesel and gas prices have dropped, he looked at Lumber and all kinds of other things and how they've all dropped and all I could think was how insane he was. I know he's MAGA, but he must've been drunk or something.
It took me HOURS of talking to my friends after church to get them back to reality and realize that it doesn't matter if prices are dropping, everything is falling apart.
The incoming food shortage is gonna be a major kick in the pants for all of us, no matter how much rice and beans we've been stuffing into our closets.
I don't want to knock your pastor by any means, but he is an example of our fellow well-meaning Americans who aren't able to think about the big picture or look at the longterm consequences of events. I'll say it, IDGAF: To all but the most dedicated autistic anons, the Q clock is essentailly impenetrable and of sharply limited practical value. (I'm surprised that by now someone hasn't at least redone it to add the years...might help with datefagging LOL). It's like, say, the Lao language. It works great in Laos, but I can't read or speak a word of it, so to me Lao is completely foreign and without practical use.
I do remember how impressed Q was on the day the clock was revealed to him. To have ever come up with a device to link dates and drops across months and years was a huge feather in the autists' cap.

Overall, Q is a military "backchannel" which allows those at the top of our military, along with president trump, to speak directly to the citizens of the world without fear of discovery or media intervention. Its a conversation between the citizens of the world and individuals with beyond top secret security clearance. It is also a means of skirting the laws surrounding "classified" information.
The topics discussed range widely from corruption in America to corruption around the world to child trafficking to national security issues and all sorts of other stuff in between.
No one truly knows who or what Q is for certain. The best guess is that Q is a collective of advanced military intelligence operators with above top secret security clearance. Some have suggested that "Q" in fact refers to Q-level security clearance, possibly based on "the sum of all fears", one movie which Q frequently mentioned, in which one of the characters has a Q level top secret security clearance, if I remember my movies correctly. It might have been the hunt for red October too.
Q does not make predictions. Rather, Q would use his top secret clearance to provide hints about certain things which later, once events played out, would make sense in retrospect but at the time did not necessarily make sense. One major example is the events that took place in Saudi-Arabia with the arrests of the king and other members of the royal family. Prior to these events Q left hints about what was about to take place, either because Q was "in the know" or had reliable surveillance information to back up his claims. However, at the time, no one knew how to interpret these events because they were made in such a round about way that no one could decipher them. Once the events played out and everyone knew what had happened, Q would then confirm how he had been foreshadowing the events and that is how "proofs" were born. People were able to "prove" that Q had in fact provided hints about a major world event before the event had taken place.
So in this regard, Q provided hints as to intel on future events. However he never "predicted" events. Predictions imply you are using imprecise means of fortelling. Q uses Intelligence information. Q doesnt predict whats going to happen, rather he KNOWS whats going to happen.
Predictions then come from the Anons. Anons are everyone else who reads Q posts, the anonymous users of the internet, partucularly the forums which Q posts on. Because we know that Q is supplying intellegence about possible future events, anonymous internet users often make it a game to try to piece together Q's posts to glean information about possible future events. These are predictions, because Q is often very cryptic and trying to predict how the hints Q has provided will translate to future events is very very difficult. And these predictions are almost always spectacularly wrong. But its still fun anyways.
Thus, Q does not make predictions which dont come to pass. Other people make predictions based on clues that Q has provided, which are almost never 100% correct or even close to that.
Q has verified his identity as someone deep in the know in many different ways. First, he has direct access to president trump, based on many different confirmatory tests. Second, he provides information that would be impossible to know unless they had access to beyond top secret information. Third, the coordination of Q would require a lot of high level intelligence work. Forth, Q has implied that they are military intelligence, although that does not necessarily mean that Q was telling the truth.
Should be noted that the XRP community has had leaks for years saying it will moon at Christmas.
