This should have happened in the 50s.
This reminds me that withholding income from pay was supposed to be just an emergency measure adopted during WWII. Of course, it never ended.
Going off the gold standard was supposed to be temporary, too, iirc.
True
Can't agree. What many people on these threads are not noticing is the language "and replace it with a consumption tax". The UNFairTax has certain evil auspices as being a potential replacement of the current evil scheme for the very reason that evil can't continue forever and needs to be replaced with a greater beast every now and then, until they run out of beasts.
What Ron Paul always said was to favor a flat tax, "I mean real flat, like zero".
Initial analysis of the satanic tricks and traps.
The biggest problem I see with it currently, is they are counting "income" as a form of consumption so this would actually make the tax 30% flat. I agree with you on Ron Paul's zero percent flat tax. Should have known there was some trick to the supposed treat.
The Senate is controlled by Dems
This, maybe there are 2 demogorgans not on the take!
Yeah, this bill won't go far, but their hearts are in the right place. Let the shitlibs defend the establishment.
Income taxes should of never happened…….
Astonishing.
The GOP always does this, Wait till they only hold one branch then act as if they are fighting really hard for the people, why not do this when got into office and they had the senate as well. Clown show of the parasites.
A small group of R's are fighting a good fight now that they have the opportunity to. If this can get shit done we need done, we can start fighting the RINO's out of other districts and build power easier. Not everyone can be a great leader, but that doesn't mean greatness is only for the ones at the front.
Absolutely, It's just a pattern I've noticed. The push for these kinds of bills and everything only seem to happen when it's only the house or only the senate. Never when all 3 are aligned to some extent. I hope it goes through, all things are possible with God. May His will be done.
If I’m not mistaken, I thought the only time in like 100 yrs all Republicans lined up was Trumps first two years in office? And then it was covered in Rino’s. Well there’s still a lot, but, you know. And if that’s true, it doesn’t disprove your point or anything, and it could still be business as usual. But today’s republicans are different post Trump, no doubt. Not all of them, but MAGA could do some great things. Or, as you say, business as usual. Of course I kinda agree with you for now. They need to prove themselves to the public first, so we’ll see. 👍
Most of W Bush’s first term and the first half of his second term.
How many of us had a clue that the govt was as crooked as it is back when W was president? We were just starting to realize that most journalists and news outlets were full of crap back then. They (politicians] have been playing us for decades which means the uniparty has been in control for a very long time. Sorry for preaching to the choir here.
Whatever happened to the line item veto??
u/#correct
This is fucking bullshit.
Whenever the GOP does not control one house of Congress or the Presidency, they're all about conservative values. Passing the repeal of Obamacare, the FairTax, and so on.
But when Trump came in and the GOP had full control, what happened? Fucking crickets. We got some tinkering with the tax code. No repeal of Obamacare, no FairTax, no Wall.
Bunch of fucking fairweather paytriots. Fuck em.
I’m praying the whole “optics” thing is the reason and this time they can get it done and not have demtards bite their own face off trying to fight against something good for themselves bc they want to “go against trump”
One can keep hope.
Noooo!! You must not be voting hard enough!!
u/#updoot
Someone said the bill would die anyways.
So if this truly is a "newly injected with maga Republicans paparty", then If it does die then we need to see how Republicans respond and fight... Because during Biden's whole "presidency" they've bent over.
So their response will be telling.
This so much, can't get anything passed with a Democrat majority in the Senate. Just more drama to keep the news stations going and pacify us.
We must find a way to counter the senate. Social pressure and outrage, expulsion, let’s get them in sight now. Dig dirt and let’s roll. The margin is thin enough.
I hate defaulting to this idea that we need tax. Our starting position should be “all taxation is theft” and go from there.
Yes. This is the default because the people are ignorant and don't want to learn.
Not to mention, this tax would be really high. It would start out as a national 23% sales tax, but is more like 30% because the 23% is take from the dollar not on top of (So 77% of a dollar goes to a business, 23% goes to the government).
This tax would increase the effective tax rate on the bottom 90% of income earners, and only those in the top 10% would receive an effective tax break.
Where are you getting those numbers from?
The 23% comes directly from the bill itself (link below).
The rest of the numbers come from a few different articles I've read.
Sales taxes typically are regressive (meaning the poor pay a larger percentage of their income in taxes), so it makes sense that this tax change would benefit the most wealthy.

Thanks for providing that info, anon. It's good to know, and not surprising.
You should read about the Fair Tax. Part of the package (at least the original proposed version, not sure about this one) includes a provision where the government sends you a check each month or year to offset all consumption taxes up to the poverty level.
Additionally, with the removal of payroll taxes and other embedded taxes, natural competition pressures would push down prices after some months.
Check it out and see - most of the objections I’ve seen to it are addressed.
It sounds like it goes on the same guidelines as John Linder's plan in the 2000s. For those unaware this is far from new. Boortz advocated for it daily on his radio show.
The FairTax Book Hardcover
FairTax: The Truth: Answering the Critics Paperback
Competition should already be driving prices down, but it doesn't really happen when all of your grocery chains are owned by one or two corporations.
Even with the monthly payments, the poor would still pay more in taxes, and the middle class would fork over a larger amount. Not to mention this is basically diet socialism.
The removal of payroll taxes would be nice from a business Administration perspective, but if it costs the same at the end of the day, I'm not sure if that gets us any further than we are now.
How about a "No Tax" bill? You know, like we had before the 1913 take over.
suspend ALL IRS power and actions
freeze all FED assests first
confiscate all FED documents
freeze all IRS assets
confiscate all IRS documents
take all passports of FED and IRS employees
audit FED and IRS
make the so called 'fair tax' bill less than 5 pages long.
eliminate the 'inheritance tax' right along side the 'fair tax' bill
eliminate property tax
eliminate tax on food, water, fuel
That should be the start at minimum
There is no legitimate tax on income. What is this "fair tax?" It sounds like more bullshit, piled higher and deeper. The fed does not need tax money from the people and is not entitled to it, being unconstitutional. Strip down that filthy monstrosity of a fed gov and it needs very little to operate. Use tariffs as POTUS did and our earlier presidents did.
I completely agree, hence the quotes on fair tax.
The Fair Tax proposal has been around for decades, so there’s plenty of information about it. You should read up on it before you pass judgement. It’s not an income tax.
Doesn't matter; it's still a tax and I do not consent.
Amen!
Will he senate pass it?
That was my first thought as well.
Nobody better waste time getting all excited about this
There is no greater source of disappointment than expecting the pigs slopping at the trough will ever vote to eliminate the income tax. That will have to be won through violent means, which I don't advocate, but facts are stubborn.
They still have hope, its good to warn them not to expect but not so much that all hope becomes lost.
Hoping for a better future is wholesome, healthy, and necessary. Hoping for Congress to eliminate the income tax and IRS is like hoping for them to vote to cut their salaries in half, or to equate them to the national average income, or to require that the Congress also be forced to submit to any health insurance scheme or "vaccination" protocol that's forced on the people.
Vain folly.
It will happen, but I think this is just to put the expectation out Nd get people to start demanding g it.
You get called a shill because you are a shill.
I agree. The Satanist party are in a pickle. They set precedent by getting Trumps taxes which were in order. After laundering billions through Ukraine and uranium sales and insider trading, they don't want anything to do with investigating tax cheats. They would rather abolish the income tax collection scheme before they get caught. Then they can say, "what difference at this point does it make if I paid taxes or not."
Agreed on that. But who controls the senate is rinos. So it may Moy get dropped in his desk at all.
I'm seeing a lot of people today who never watched School House Rock as a kid.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Otbml6WIQPo
I've been informed by quite a few folks here that "The House controls the spending, " so they can defund anything they want.
🙄🤦♀️
They originate the spending. But the Senate and President still have to sign on. Spending can't originate in the Senate. Just like the House can't pick SCOTUS Judges. I understand it's a confusing process. But I assure you, this Bill can't become law unless it goes through the Senate and gets signed by the President. That's just a fact and the way our Federal Government works. Otherwise, the original omnibus bill wouldn't have had to go through the Senate and get signed by the President. If the House could spend anything they wanted on whatever that would completely break the balance of power.
It's not confusing. It's called separation of powers and it works when we follow the law.
In a way, they do. If they do not emanate bills for funding something, it never gets to the senate or the president. They're the first step but it's a crucial one.
As a 35 year CPA I’m against this. Two basic reasons. One, the sales tax is the purview of the states.
Second, and more important…never ever ever give those fuckers a new way to tax us. You can bet your ass when it’s all said and done they will still have all the old ways and now another new way. Guaranteed.
Tease...but if the IRS goes and there is a truly "fair tax" then CPA schools will shut down too. Just like when the "disease maintenance system" folds after this VAX DECLASS I with my 30+ years in the medical field will become obsolete. Start studying "light, vibration and frequency" and learn to CREATE. That will be our new JOB, Creation.
There will always be a need for honest medical practitioners, and probably a lot of job openings coming soon.
Will always need CPAs - they're not just tax guys.
Also true.
CPAs will still need to do corporate tax work.
This ^^^^^^
Never give them the opportunity to tax you a new and different way.
This does feel like a fake solution to trick us into supporting the GOP swamp.
Another thing I don't like about it is you must have to have every sale identified to your SSN so they can send you a rebate check. Essentially this means the end of cash and any privacy in buying and selling.
Most CPAs are against it because it would eliminate the need for your profession (other than auditing, of course).
Please consider putting the good of your fellow countrymen over your career - you can always retrain in another field.
I’m all for tax simplification. When I started the average couple could do their own return by hand without the aid of a CPA or even TurboTax. We need to get back to that.
My reason is what I said it was. Nothing self serving intended.
I couldn't believe this was real, so I checked mainstream media. Fox News(who should suck a bag of dicks) has it here too: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.foxnews.com/politics/house-republicans-vote-bill-abolishing-irs-eliminating-income-tax.amp
Here's the link without the Google Amp nonsense-

Can't connect to VPN right now or I'd archive it too.
Thank you
Up vote for "Fox News(who should suck a bag of dicks)."
Ya...fox news + big dicks = upvote!!
So a "fair tax" is actually a "consumption tax?"
Fuck that nonsense.
It would be a sales tax. But I agree that any federal tax should be eliminated. That's what tariffs are for.
Youbwant to keep the income tax that means the only control you have to deny them money is to make less or jump through their corporate tax avoidance schemes. It's expensive because that's how do it.
I'd rather save all that.
Good luck getting that passed lol. Zero chance with this corrupt congress.
Taxes should be an itemized yearly opt-in form, voluntary and with control over where your money went as a matter of course, current 'taxes' are just legalized protection money/extortion(give us money or we will destroy you)
Or set up in like a go fund me way. That’s be so cool. I’d donate the shit out of animal shelters.
And I would donate as well, Crisis pregnancy centers as well.
That's not a tax it's a donation.
Ha ha ha yeah THAT'LL pass.
What should happen is the elimination of the IRS and ALL INCOME TAX. There is no "fair income tax" that's greater than zero.
Plenty of other tax revenue sources exist besides the labor of individuals.
The "Fair Tax" is supposed to be a tax on purchasable goods, not an income tax. Supposedly.
It is confiscation of Americans' hard earned money to fund BIG GOVERNMENT.
Vote it down. Vote down all who support it.
Consumer spending is what drives the growth of the American economy. What would this idiotic plan do to consumer spending?
Is the intent of this bill to kill the economy? Is this an early salvo from McCarthy and the globalists?
Looks like it to me. This is an America-killer plan.
Well that’s a pretty myopic point of view. You should study the Fair Tax before you pass judgement - lots of assumptions flying around here.
Educate yourself - Fair Tax is a solid plan that’s been around for decades. There’s plenty of info about it.
Don't spend money amd you don't get taxed. Also, purchase privately and the other guy paid the tax already.
All of them need to back away from the tax trough. They've abused this to the point that there is little legitimate reason for any tax.
OK cool, I was mistaking it for "FLAT tax"
Now. The "Fair" Sales Tax won't be, unless it's permanently locked at under five percent, with no provision for making it higher. The 15% or whatever they're pimping is beyond outrageous. Can't run your fucking fedgov on five percent? Oh well, time to kill some of it off. Kill some pork, worthless "programs", exorbitant salaries, etc.
Must be locked at low rate with no provision to raise it ever. The key will be if the government t wants more money they'll have to encourage production and spending instead of stifling it.
Insurresctionist Revenue Service
Would reduce my income substantially.
Basically they are trying to paint a difficult picture with a four inch paint brush.
Go back and start again.
Their general idea is correct and long overdue they just need to operate with a scalple instead of a skill saw. The IRS needs to go but the purpose of that is to relieve Americans of their onerous tax burden. The country can be funded largely by tariffs which is what the founders envisioned and what Trump had well underway when the 2020 elcetion was stolen from him.
Are they going to tax stock purchases?
As written I will definitrly vote against this "Fair" Tax Plan or against enyone who supports it.
In my view it is confiscatory in much the same way that the present horror is.
What theybare trying to do is find a way to fund at our current levels. So they still want to fleece us.
Cutting government expenses needs to be first then they can find the sweet spot to pay for rhe minimum constitutional requirements and not a penny more. their operating budget legally should only be tariffs.
No it wouldn’t. Read up on it and you’d see why.
Even if they pass it, won't it die in the Senate?
Likely as not...
To all the Doomers… This hasn’t been done before because of the UniParty/Rinos. There’s a good chance that the Fair Tax will pass in the House. Since Republicans got rid of a lot of Rinos (the ones who voted to impeach Trump) and there are new House rules there won’t be much opposition. When (being optimistic) it passes and sits in the House and goes nowhere, all the 2024 Republican candidates will put passing the Fair Tax on their platforms or they won’t even get out of the primaries. Republicans will hold the House take the Senate and the White House. As Q says…we will never lose again!
How we gonna win in the first place? Nobody has dealt with Dominion and all of the other trickery around elections.
We’ll win. It will all be taken care of.
It would be better if trump was the guy who signed the bill. So I dont think it will pass yet.
Biden will veto and take the hit for being a money Grubber. That will be step one.
Our incomes are not supposed to be taxed. Period. I DGAF about any so-called fair tax. All that shite is unconstitutional and it's high time we got back to CONSTITUTIONAL.
There is no way in hell the swamp would allow this to pass, But if it makes it for a vote, you will see who the true swamp dwellers really are, same with the senate if it somehow passed the house. #Truth
This is thenpoint of rhe exercise. People need to calm down.
Won’t pass the senate , but one can dream
Oh God please please please…
Will never pass the senate.
Amend the 16th amendment
Abolish
From what I've read, it was never properly ratified anyway, as a number of the amendments haven't.
#LFG
Democrats: Suddenly we love the IRS now.
True, that- It's happened before....
Even if they pass it, won't it die in the Senate?
there is already no such thing as involuntary income tax. the only thing people do with income tax, is they shell out their hard earned money, to pay back the federal reserve who dished out IOU's on monopoly board-game fiat.
then, tax returns are borrowed from the federal reserve, with more interest charged on top, further increasing the debt.
fvck income tax.
fvck property tax.
fvck tax on water & food.
& fvck a "fair tax" bill.
Thank you! The so-called 'Fair Tax' Would actually keep the tax on work for pay, just change it to a sale of labor tax. Highly disingenuous.
Involuntary income tax? No such thing? I never volunteered.
Even if they pass it, won't it die in the Senate?
Likely. Democrats are unlikely to support it , and some Republicans who know what it really is won't either.
That's exactly why it's the state that administers it.
It won't happen under biden. They wont let him have that win.
Still not good enough. There is nothing in the Constitution about taxes. Taxes should be repealed.
Some have thought that taxation without representation was somethign they could maintain.
They love this stuff when they have no real power
All of this is grandstanding. Everyone knows that none of what they do as far as bills will go anywhere. Because they all know this is dead on arrival, they can put on a good show for the base. It really means nothing in the end. We have seen this movie before. Give us the Senate and the WH and we can finally get things done. Then, just like in 2016, they choke when it counts. So excuse me if I don't get all excited about the show. When they actually cut the funds using the power of the purse, then I will pay attention.
The Senate will not approve
