23-30% is WAY too high. I'd bet that a federal sales tax of 2% across the board would generate more revenue than they take in now..

Even 5% would be acceptable so long as no income taxes are stolen. People would be able to save way more and most likely spend more when time is right. As the world becomes more awake, less evil is needed to show them.

We should eliminate property taxes while we're at it. If there's one thing you should own that nobody can take from you it should be your house. As long as you have to pay property taxes, it's nothing more than renting your land from the government.

In confused by the 16th amendment then, what does this mean if not that they can tax income? "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration."

Technically, "income" means "profit." With regards to the 16th amendment, only a corporation (a "legal entity" or "legal fiction" AKA not a natural person) can accumulate profit. A person engaged in trade, AKA a "like kind exchange," which includes the exchange of labor for other goods and services does not include any profit.

When you get into the exchange of money however (Federal Reserve Notes), things get a little more tricky. Exchanging FRNs for labor is not a like kind exchange because money has no value, on the contrary, it is a note of debt. It is kinda like negative value. Labor on the other hand has positive value. Exchanging something with negative value for something with positive value is not a "fair" exchange, and thus has different rules. Those rules (called the Tax Code) are up to the corporation that owns that "money" (the Federal Reserve). Or more specifically, their agency that makes all those rules, the private organization called the IRS. They dictate the rules of money. The Tax Code and Federal Law (illegally created, but "law" nonetheless) are sometimes congruent, but not always.

I think the way they manage it is because there may be a corporation, a trust, that is created in your name, through Social Security, and that is what is taxed. You are not subject to paying "income taxes" but the corporation, that has the same name as you, is. And you, as a signatory to your Social Security Number (or Taxpayer Identification Number) are legally bound to pay the taxes for that corporation.

I still need to figure out exactly how this is accomplished, but I think that is how it works.

Interesting thoughts. However, when you sign on behalf of a corporation, or entity other than yourself, you include your title so as to designate you are acting on behalf of the entity. For example, you would include president, treasurer, director, member, manager, etc.

If you sign just your name, that means you and not an entity.

Since none of us know if some other entity exists to represent us, it would be a clear violation of contract law and any of these contracts would be non-binding.

You can't be a party to a contract if you never legally agreed to be a party to a contract.

If that wasn't the case, I could sign anyone's name on a loan and make them pay it for me. While that might be nice, it's not going to happen. 😉

It's the same thing renting from an HOA. You don't pay their bullshit fines, they put a lien on your house. You don't pay the lien fast enough for them, they'll repo your house. They're basically a government. HOA's should be unconstitutional.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– AllowMeToExplain 2 points 3 years ago +2 / -0

Most states have a way of collateralizing liens. Make a cash payment to the local court of 115% or so of the amount of the lien and it is now not encumbering your property. It is then up to the lien holder to figure out how to foreclose on the collateral. Which nobody seems to understand. And the timelines to do so are much shorter in this regard. Where I used to live, you got 2 years to do it or it goes away. Doesn’t mean you can’t still file suit over the money; just that you do not have any security interest in property while you do it. Some asshole contractor tried that shit on me. He never figured out how to get the money lol

Edit: forgot to add, after the 2 years is up with no action you get your collateral back

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– SoMuchWinning45 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

Why pay more than what the lien is?

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– AllowMeToExplain 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

Because the entire point is to make them figure out how to foreclose on the collateral. When they don't do it, you get the money back. If the do, then they'll only recover what the lien was for, not the excess. Courts will make you deposit more than the amount to collateralize. Perhaps to cover court costs in the event you lose the proceeding.

"It is based on spending. It is one way that the rich will pay more taxes than the poor."

Wrong, laddie. That's only true in absolute terms. Proportionately, this "fair" tax would take a bigger and bigger proportion of income as the amount of income decreases.

There is no way this can be rationalized. It's a flagrant steal, plain and simple.

"Proportionate" taxation is a theft tactic.

If you and a guy who makes $250k more per year than you both buy a loaf of bread, why do you get to pay no tax and he have to pay 100% tax?

Thats patently unequal treatment under the law. You should both pay 20% combined for all levels of government and be done with it. If you spend nothing, the government gets nothing.

I don't think the Fair Tax applies to essential foods or basic clothing. I may be wrong about that (its been a while since I even seen it mentioned), but I am pretty sure that was the case.

UBI is also part of the Fair Tax. It replaces replaces welfare. UBI is also used to offset the impact of the Fair Tax on the poor.

Things may have changed. Regardless, I would be for this so long as the income tax is ABOLISHED and the cap for the Fair Tax is set to something reasonable. At one point, the Fair Tax was proposed as a 20% tax .... I've seen it go as high as 30% ... I think the range is on purpose though ... if the tax can be capped at 30% and introduced at something like 20%, raising it should be a pain in the ass as people would feel the impact of it the day after it is increased.

I would much prefer to control what I am paying in taxes. Taxing income is fucking barbaric and pathetic ... the 'progressive' system makes it even worse.

A national "sales tax" would:

  1. Encourage savings - tax only applies when spent.
  2. Most States already have a sales tax and have already implemented exemptions for necessities -ie food.
  3. Lots of lobbyist would be out of business because - not much special interest involved
  4. IRS & Tax lawyers, accountants also out of business OR likely change careers to be more productive for economy
  5. Makes it more difficult to cheat. The so-called underground economy not paying would be captured.

It makes too much sense for Politicians to implement. If they actually solve problems, then their donor money gravy train ceases.

Tax is not the problem. The government does need income in order to operate, and you would not want to live somewhere with any sizeable population without some form of functional government.

The questions are how to appropriately fund the government and how to ensure that the government serves the population rather than itself.

Good points from u/Simpleton9 (not sure the person who down-voted you even understands what you're saying) and you. I would think that would be a simple enough mechanism to implement - whatever savings and already-taxed assets one has before a FT implementation date are exempt from further taxation. It could be as simple as getting an exempt debit card for whatever amount you choose to withdraw from your savings account, for example. Go to a store or shop online, purchase the goods, use the card and no tax can be taken. Banks would simply have to keep an additional data point on record until such a time as the already-taxed account shows a zero balance.

It was simple to understand and a very good point, too. I imagine the down-votes are from knee-jerk reactions from those who (erroneously) think you're against the FT completely. In fact, your point that already-taxed assets need to be considered and protected when implementing a FT don't detract from the benefits and good sense of a properly implemented FT system whatsoever; it strengthens the "fair" aspect of it. Thanks for bringing the topic up in this post.

Absolutely. When the governments are not allowed to print unlimited money via Central Banks, there will be no way to fund Cabal ops like gender studies in pakistan, or for that matter would there be a way to fund any wars.

Income Taxes are purely needed to pay interest to the Central Banks for the privilege of letting them print our money. No CB, no Income Tax.

The only tax thats valid is commercial tax - either domestic or international or both. Its purely a policy decision and people need to vote accordingly.

Those communities that can live tight and dont need too much "common goods" can stick with import tax only - low sales tax. Those who want to go crazy with virtue signalling will have to vote for higher taxes. Every program needs to be ear marked with the % of sales tax its costing - so people can make informed decision.

This is a common misconception. They can't print currency just like that without exposing their nefarious schemes.

The entire field of modern economics and financial system is essentially a complex system to keep this scam going without getting caught, and to explain away whatever problems that do happen in terms of abstract concepts that ordinary person has no chances of piercing through.

This requires using thousands of economists who are unwitting participants in this fraud (just like doctors in the vaccine fraud), and hence they need a solid sounding basis for their scheme.

Consider the fraud of implementing the Fed itself. How can you not realize they wouldn't be printing money for themselves to the nth degree? Of course they are. If you or I had the moral character to do what they did to gain control of the money printer, we'd do the same.

Do you think they told the Soviets and CCP to make sure they only printed XYZ zillion bills? Do you think the Soviet and CCP leaders respected those wishes? LOL.

It's an inarguable certainty that this is what's going on. It's human nature for those on the dark path. Greed.

All the M1, M2, M3, etc. figures are pure fantasy. They're whatever the owners of the Fed want them to be. It's all lies. Just like their employment numbers, CPI, jobs reports, fake news, viruses, wars, medicine, legal system, education, history. I hate to break it to you, but it's all lies from top to bottom.

I think you are missing my whole point. You think I am saying "they are not printing unlimited money" and you keep arguing accordingly.

What I am saying is "They are printing unlimited amounts, but thats not the whole story. They also need to build a whole economic system around it to keep the scam going. If you simply print unlimited amount without the necessary subterfuges, then it becomes obvious due to hyperinflation"

Complete garbage. There are provisions for people who do not make enough money, just like there is in the tax code now.

The fair tax is something you can control, where as IRS is not. If you want to pay low taxes, buy less stuff. Rich people will have to pay the 30% for things like multiple houses, cars, yachts, all the stuff they buy to stay on top of their "one up" game will be taxed.

Only buy the stuff you need and on occasion, stuff you want. It will certainly help you to save money and consume less.

ok just saw this posting so I'm a few days behind. "read the fairtax book". Where is this book, if it's a real thing? This fair tax debate has been around for MANY years and I'd like to read this book. You know, all in one place, no MAJOR output to understand the fundimentals (sp-sounds that way anyway). Will you so kindly, regardless of how stupid I sound, clue me in?

– TakeItBack 2 points 3 years ago +2 / -0

There is no fair tax. I don't care who is pushing it. This taxing shit has got to stop. Even if they imposed a very tiny tax IT WILL NEVER STAY THAT WAY. Once the people agree to something, that door is OPEN. I highly question if the feds can constitutionally tax us anyway. Property and income taxation are UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Your property includes your house and land, your means of transportation and your own body. Take a wrecking ball to every level of government, get rid of every agency, org, act, bureau and the like....especially get rid of the IRS and fed reserve. THEN see how small your government is supposed to be.

I see what they do locally. We are the poorest county and have the highest taxes in Taxachusetts. Stop the effing insanity, stop all the damned taxes, fire 99% of the parasites destroying the town. Then see how little it takes to chip in and run reasonable things. These filth are robbing the stupid people, building, building, pissing away money like it grows on trees. They have a ready pot of gold to do as they please and they are out of control. THEY WORK FOR US, DAMMIT.

Income tax, property tax, estate tax, inheritance - all of these are unconstitutional and against natural law. Commercial taxes are entirely constitutional.

I answered this in another comment - but my stand is that Fed should only run on import duties and interstate commerce tax. Local sales tax should be set by the State, and the amount is a policy decision, left to the people, depending on how generously they want their government to spend their money.
